  1. Rockwood Temple Forrest CPA Huntingdon Gordonsville
  2. I'm not sure why I'm responding to you -- but I am anyway. If you've been around the game as long as I have -- you'd know that sometimes good teams don't play their best against less talented teams. Some teams start out slow (as Temple usually does) and it takes them a while to get things going. Temple seems to play better when they're behind. I don't really understand it -- only that they need something to shoot for or a motivation to win. As for CCS --- Temple was winning in the last seconds of their contest and CCS pulled out the W. Question: If CCS is so great, why didn't they (on their homecourt) beat Temple by 45 and bring in their bench? If I recall CCS only won by 5. On any given night -- any team can be beat. Was it really "ridiculous" for Temple to win the game against Boyd in the last second? Answer: NO. CCS only beat Boyd by 31. And in Temple's first win over Boyd, the Crusaders won by 27. If you ask me -- that's not too much of a difference. Well, that's about all I have to say for now about this subject. I only hope Temple has another chance against CCS in the coming days. And if any of the Temple players read this, please don't wait till the fourth quarter to play ball.
  3. Just an added footnote to the above post: The coach from Boyd didn't show any class at the end of the game by telling the Temple players (instead of congratulating them on the win) they were "lucky". And on top of that -- he went after Coach Wadley and had to be stopped by the coaching staff of Temple and Boyd. "Coach . . . . (whatever your name is), you've got alot of class!!! Give yourself a hand!!! You really ought to be proud of yourself!!! Not!!!!" Since he didn't say it, I will --- "Congratulations to the Crusaders for the win."
  4. Temple pulled out the win in the last seconds of the game: Temple 61 Boyd 60 Temple didn't play their best in this one and still came away with the W. I've got to hand it to Boyd though. They played with a lot of intensity and really should have won the game. But Temple never gave up and showed a lot of class in beating the Bucs on their home court.
  5. Hey -- you didn't see me at the game RW. You're seeing things man!!
  6. I'm not too overconfident about this one -- but I'm going to take Temple over Boyd with the score of: Temple 68 Boyd Buc 52
  7. Who will get the W in the game between Temple and Boyd?
  8. Caleb Skogen Jon Cook Ryan Merriman Charles Little Zack Hyatte
  9. Tom Welborn -- Temple (WDYN -- Chattanooga)
  10. There you go -- following me around again. If I didn't know any better -- I would think that you were stalking me.
  11. I just saw the score on the scoreboard. CoachT says Temple won over Grace 52-47. If anyone knows the details -- post them, please.
  12. Caleb Skogen (Temple) Charles Little (Cleveland) Corey Sanders (Brainerd) Jonathan Adams (Baylor)
  13. I'm going to go with Caleb Skogen from Temple. He's one of the best ballhandlers around. He is very quick and can shoot the rock. There's no doubt a lot of coaches that would love to have Caleb on their squad.
  14. You shouldn't make any comments about someone you've never seen play the game. Seth is a pretty good athlete in football. I have no doubt he could play on any team in the Chattanooga area. You guys (or gals) have to realize this was the first year for Temple football. You can't expect them to play just anybody in the first year of the program. Plus, many of the players were freshman. Most of the guys had not even played organized football before. And, a lot of the players had to play both ways which is not an easy task. Sure -- you might not think they played a "top-tier" Class A competition (other than CAK), but they did play some teams that have had a program for many years -- such as Copper Basin, Celina, Pickett County, and Lookout Valley. No -- there not a program like Ooltewah has -- but you have to give Temple some credit for having a good first year program. And to say that Seth is a "marginal" player compared to his brother, Jake, is -- in my opinion a "silly" statement. So, I'm sorry if you think my statements are "silly" -- but I guess you're entitled to your opinion -- just as I am. I can hardly wait to see what response I get back from you. But don't waste your time -- because I'm not going to waste mine any longer on this "silly" thread.
  15. I think it's great for the game. It's all about having fun and supporting your team. Think about it -- as long as it keeps the kids off the street and out of trouble -- it's something every school should promote. I also think that some of the parents and faculty should lighten up as well -- and have fun at the games. Cheer, yell, clap, nake some noise. Why not? Basketball -- you've got to love this game!!
  16. Who is going to take the W in this one at Temple?
  17. Temple just had a bad game against McCallie on Thursday night. They made a run at it in the fourth quarter but it was a little too late. Yes, Temple did beat Grace and Unaka -- but they played much better against those two teams than they did against McCallie. That's just the way it is sometimes. I do believe that Temple has the better team -- it just didn't come out in the McCallie game. I suppose we'll find out just how good Temple is when they face off against Grace again on Tuesday night on the Crusaders home court.
  18. Who's the best trifecta shooter in the Chattanooga area?
  19. Who's the best trifecta shooter in the Chattanooga area?
  20. Final Score: Temple 61 Unaka 55 Junior Zach Mouw had a great game -- finishing with 19 points which included three back to back three pointers. It's good to see someone else step it up on the Crusader squad. It appears Temple has possibly found the key to having a balanced scoring attack. Good job Zach! Dee Newson had a great game too -- with 3 threes. And of course, Caleb got his 17 in the win over the Rangers of Unaka.
  21. Well, after Temple's loss to McCallie last night -- I believe they'll be ready to finally play some ball tonight against Unaka on the Crusaders home court. Unaka was at the game last night at McCallie and saw how terrible Temple played in the first 3 quarters -- so, I think the Rangers might be a bit overconfident in this one. I'm going with Temple in this one: Temple 65 Unaka 63
  22. I thought the coach from Temple worked the refs pretty good -- but after last nights game against McCallie -- I'm not too sure. They seemed to ignore Wadley all night. Temple got some really bad calls against the Blue Tornados. The refs missed so many -- it was so terrible. I usually don't complain about the refs but I think Mitch (one of the refs -- which has connections with Temple) was afraid to make the right calls for whatever reasons. Anyway -- keep workin' the refs Dan and keep up the good work.
