  1. Well Well, I haven't exactly followed this thread, but I thought I could put my input in about Willie Kemp. He is one of the best players I saw at the state tournament. I have no doubt in my mind that this guy is college made and maybe even NBA material. This guy is quick, smart with the ball, and is great at driving to the basket. I think if there was one person at the tournament I was impressed with the most, It was Willie Kemp.
  2. Well well.. It seems I have even more schools to add for the upcoming season. Tennessee Temple-I look for these guys to have a great shot at the Single A title next year and I believe they can be one of the dominant teams in the area with the return everyone and the two Skogans. Grace Baptist- I think they will obviously have another good team this coming year with losing only Nick Parson off their State Runner Up team. I think Grace should have a really good team as well.
  3. Who will have the Top teams coming into next season in the Chattanooga Area? Bradley returns Suiter and Hammonds, who have been a part of to State Tournament runs. Cleveland returns 3 key starters in Little, Dodd, and Jett. With the experience of Goldston coming off the bench. This looks to be one of the top teams led by two time All-Region Charles Little. Rhea County also returns long range bomber Josh Jenkins and quick guard Rendan Floyd. McMinn looks a little down this year losing JaJaun. Ooltewah returns 1 starter in big man Courtney White who has been an All-District performer twice. And Foster and Brown with experience. Brainerd returns key guard Corey Sanders. They will have to fill alot of shoes, but that is what they do best at Brainerd. Soddy Daisy returns all its line up. Eldridge and Rende look to be the leaders with a new coach to take them through the season. Red Bank had a good team this year, and returns all key players. Ryan Wood and Ken Greene are they keys to next years team that I think will surprise alot of people. Central returns two starters in Lorenzo Meadows and Dominque Jones. Jones is an All-District player and a long range bomber and will be the leader of this young team. Who does everyone else think will have the Top Teams in the Area?
  4. Well well, I think this Region is one of the toughest in the state, no doubt. I mean I think that if you didn't have Bradley in this Region then you could have 4 or 5 teams with the hope of winning the Region. I also thing those other teams could be good enough to win any other Region in the state with the exception of the Memphis Regions. Now it seems the battle is for second. And as the article in the Times Free Press stated this morning, it is almost a Tournament of strategy as teams are scrambling to stay out of Bradleys bracket. I think any of the 4 teams not in Bradley's bracket have a real shot at making the Region Finals. Ooltewah, who would have a shot, looks as if they will be heading home after the Semi-Final Round as Red Bank will be the first victim of the Bears. I think this is a very tough Region and I wish all teams good luck. I would also like to state that my predictions for both Districts 5 and 6 were right on the money with of course the exception of McMinn beating Rhea, but we all know that story and lets not get started. This is how I see it.. Monday Night. Bradley beats Red Bank by 34 and Brainerd beats Rhea by 11. Tuesday Night. Cleveland beats Central by 7 and Ooltewah over McMinn by 12. Thursday Night (Semi-Finals) Bradley over Ooltewah by 26. Brainerd over Cleveland by 3 in a game that could go either way. Friday Night (Championship Night) Bradley finds themselves in a tight spot early. Yet, manages to come out and win by 11. On to Sub-State for Bradley and Brainerd.
  5. Well well, It looks like to me we have set ourselves up for a nice match-up in the District 6-AAA Finals. To bad that it will be hard for this Championship game to live up to the bar set by the Ooltewah-Central Semi-Final. I have never seen a high school game that thrilling with my own eyes. It was something else. Yet, I do think that this will be very good Championship game. I think it will come down to two things. I think Brainerd Wins this game unless...Ooltewah hits their three's (somewhere int he neighborhood of 8 or more) and if they take care of the ball(turn the ball over less than 15 times). I think if they are able to do those things Ooltewah wins this game. If not my pick goes to Brainerd. I will say the Final is.. If Ooltewah does the Task Above... Ooltewah 71 Brainerd 64 And then if Ooltewah doesn't..I just think that Brainerd has to much size and speed. And the confidence in their heads after beating the Owls twice. Brainerd 68 Ooltewah 54
  6. Well Well, I think this will be a good tournament. I think there are easily three teams that could come away with a District Title out of this crew. I think that Red Bank will beat Soddy in the first round of the guys and will move on to play Brainerd. I then think that the Owls of Ooltewah will take Central on there home court in a tough vigarous game. Then I think Red Bank will be knocked down to play Central in the 3rd place game, as Brainerd moves onto face the homestanding Owls in the Finals. I think both of the Brainerd teams will escape victors in the tournament finals. Brainerd with a 10+ win. All Tournament Team: Brainerd- Charles Benning, Victor Taylor, Corey Sanders, Andre Mapp Ooltewah- Sherman Moton, Courtney White, Hunter Augustino Central- Ryan Merriman, Dominique Jones Red Bank- Ryan Wood ( or the Green kid ) Soddy Daisy- Derek Rende
  7. I didn't see the Red Bank-Soddy Daisy game, but I did hear about it from several people. What I was told was that Soddy had a pretty good night and Red Bank didn't play to their potiental. And actually I did ask if Soddy could upset Red Bank to one of my friends before the game, and he came back and told me they could if they got hot and played a solid game and Red Bank have an off night, which happens to them alot. So I think they could but someone would have to play big for Soddy, maybe even two people.
  8. Well Fanatic, In the District Tournament Bradley could get knocked off and still advance to the Region and on to State. Yet, If someone were to step up and knock them off before the Region Finals, Bradley's season would be over. I think that their are teams in this Region that could knock off Bradley. But Bradley has won the majority of its games against Region opponents by around 20 points with the exception of Cleveland. Bradley is just head and heels above any team in the state with the exception of White Station on an average night for them. When they play their best ball I am not sure how good they could be. Yet, I do know that know one has seen an entirely bad game from Bradley this year, because they have so many players one of the is bound to be clicking. I do agree that if somehow someone could get hot in a night (such as Walker Valley) and Bradley has an oops night, then it is very possible. I think you could find Cleveland, Rhea, Central, Brainerd, or Ooltewah able to get that hot. But the chances of that happening are slim to none. 1 and a Million. I would stick with Bradley.
  9. Scarface you are correct. That would put them in a tie. I will make that change.
  10. Well Well, I have taken the time to break down these Chattanooga Districts and this is what I have found. District 6 Predicted Order of Finish..District Record and Games Remaining Inside the District. 1) Chattanooga Central- (5-1) Feb. 6th-Red Bank_Feb. 10th-Ooltewah__Will more than likely finish 7-1 in the District, but have two tuff opponents left. 2) Brainerd- (6-2) All District Games Completed. 3) Ooltewah- (2-3) Feb. 6th-Soddy Daisy_Feb. 10th-Central_Feb. 13th-Red Bank__ Looking to finish 4-4 in the District, but still have two good teams left to face. 4) Red Bank- (3-3) Feb. 6th-Central_Feb. 13th-Ooltewah__Should end up 3-5 in the District losing their remaining District games. 5) Soddy Daisy- (0-7) Feb. 6th-Ooltewah__ Will finish (0-8) in the District. How Teams Could Shake Things Up First Place-If Central loses to both Ooltewah and Red Bank, which is very possible, then Brainerd could win the District. Also if Central just loses one game then that will put Brainerd and Central into a tie breaker for the District Regular Season Title. Second Place-The only way Brainerd doesn't finish second is if Red Bank wins both its remaining games, it would then be a tie breaker for 2nd and 3rd places and would knock Ooltewah to 4th. Ooltewah could finish 2nd with a wins over both remaining opponents and a Central loss to Red Bank and Ooltewah, then their would be a tie breaker between Ooltewah and Central. Third Place-This place is between Ooltewah and Red Bank. Who ever wins on Feb 13th will finish no worse than 3rd. Unless any of the scenerio from above happens. Fourth Place- Once again pretty much comes down to the game between Ooltewah and Red Bank on the 13th of Feb. Unless a scenerio from above happens. Fifth Place-Soddy has this spot taken all for themselves. Bracket Preview All these seedings mean nothing if you don't know what the Brackets look like. Here is the Preview. Seed 5 will play Seed 4 in a play in game. The Losers Season is over. The winner of that game plays Seed 1. While Seed 2 takes on Seed 3. The winner of the Seed 1 and Seed 4/Seed 5 game will move on to play the winner of Seed 2 and 3 in the Championship Game. While the losers of that game play in a Third Place game. Those teams then move on to play in the Region. Information All the Information I got was from CoachT's Schedules or My own knowledge of a teams schedule. All District Records indicated are as of the date of Feb. 4th. I will try to update them as frequently as I can. Let me know of any corrections you see, or any other scenerio's. Please feel free to comment and question anything you read. Thanks.
  11. Well Well, I have taken the time to break down these Chattanooga Districts and this is what I have found. District 5 Predicted Order of Finish..District Record and Games Remaining Inside the District. 1) Bradley-(5-0) Feb. 6th-McMinn County_Feb. 13th-Cleveland_Feb. 17th-Rhea Co.__Will likely finish 8-0 in the District with wins over everyone left on their District. 2) Rhea County- (4-2) Feb. 6th-Cumberland Co._Feb. 17th-Bradley__I look at them to finish 5-3 in the District with a win on the 6th and a loss on the 17th. 3) Cleveland- (4-3) Feb. 13th-Bradley__Cleveland looks to finish .500 in the District at 4-4. They are one of the hottest teams in the area right now though. 4) Cumberland County- (2-4) Feb. 6th-Rhea_Feb. 13th-McMinn__Looks like the Jets will finish 3-5 and take 4th in a tough District. 5) McMinn County- (0-6) Feb. 6th-Bradley_Feb. 13th-Cumberland Co.__ A team that could compete for a District title in any other District looks to finish winless in this District at (0-8). How Teams Could Shake Things Up First Place-Bradley will finish first no matter how they do in their final two District Games. Second Place-If Rhea loses to Bradley and Cumberland, while Cleveland upsets Bradley..Cleveland could take the second spot. Third Place-If Cumberland beats Rhea and McMinn, and Cleveland loses to Bradley they both finish 4-4 in the District. Since they split the regular season series, they would go to some type of tie breaker. Fourth Place-The only way Cumberland will not finish 4th is if the scenerio above happens. Fifth Place-McMinn County has pretty much got this spot locked up. 12. Well Well, I barely made it to this thread before game time. I guess I just didn't see it. I started to worry that no one had created a Thred on it. But then I found it. I believe in this game Bradley will go out early and tear apart any hope that Walker Valley thought they had of winning this game. I think that last game WV knocked down some three's to get it going for them, but I just don't believe that Bradley will let that happen again. And if Walker Valley wanted to win a game, then they are going to have to learn how to play good Defense, which I haven't seen them do all year. Therefore with no D, there is no way you can beat the #1 AAA team in the state. Bradley wins easy.. Bears 84 Mustangs 61
  13. I think this ought to be a great game. I know that both teams are pretty good teams. I just think that Temple has a little more talent and will until they get rid of at the Skogens. Granted that Van Horn for Grace is a good player as well, I just don't think he has enough help like Caleb does in Seth and Sean. (Sp?). Crusaders 66 Golden Eagles 51
  14. I htink your rankings look pretty good this week. Good Job Imrightyourewrong.
  15. Well Well, Time for the Panthers of Brainerd and the Owls of Ooltewah to meet again. Last time the Owls fell to the Panthers by 8 at Brainerd. This year Ooltewah has lost as many games at home as they have on the road so I don't think that they have to much of an advantage coming into this game. Although, Ooltewah has been playing hot lately, where Brainerd hasn't. And Ooltewah might just find Brainerd not thinking about the Owls since Brainerd handled them last time. I think this will be another good game. If the Brainerd and the Owls both play their best game then my pick goes to Brainerd. If Ooltewah plays like they have played their last couple of games and Brainerd continues in its half way slump then my choice goes to the Owls. Yet, it has been obvious to me and other that Ooltewah cannot win the big games this year...so we will see. On that note. I think this will be a heck of a game. I am still trying to decide if I will come out to this one or not.
  16. I agree with Will87, StayNSkool..I think that you should have White on the team, but I think someone else besides him should be a starter..Perhaps Pugh or Adams or even Pickel.
  17. Well Well, The best long range bombers in the Chattanooga area is the Topic this time... Here is who I think some of the best are.. -Jay Davis (Cleveland) -Tim Cooper (Rhea County) -Just Hare (Bradley) -Kellen Pickel (Bradley) -Hunter Augustino (Ooltewah) -Corey Boatmen (Walker Valley) -Joe Kuglar (Walker Valley) -Dominique Jones (Central) -Plavich (Baylor) Sorry if all names aren't correct or spelled correct. I didn't have my rosters with me. And I am sure there is more shooters in the area, but these are just some that caught my eye when I have seen them play.
  18. Your right they won't make it to the state tournament simply because they are playing in the hardest Region in the state this year, but I know they would beat the majority of the teams in the Nashville Area.
  19. Well Well, This game is going to be a pretty good one I do believe. That is until Bradley hits the floor. I think that SuperSteve said it best. Bradley simply has more talent and has alot better Coach. If Bradley couldn't do it with there talent, then Bill Nelms would be run out of Bradley by Kent Smiths coaching ability. Yet, good thing Bradley has more talent and the coach on their side, so this could get even uglier. I think that if Cori Pugh at lest just contains Merriman then Bradley will win this game by 15 or so..
  20. This is an easy question...Just like someone said above... Justin Hare and Kellen Pickel from Bradley without question.
  21. Imrightyourewrong tell me what you think?
  22. I wouldn't go that far. Brainerd is a good team, they just aren't the third ranked team in the state. I am sure they would beat the majority teams in the Nashville Area. They are deffinately a Top 20 team, probably Top 15 or 10..
  23. 1-2. Chatt. Central and Rhea are very close to being 1 or 2..Depends on the night.. 3. Brainerd 4. Ooltewah 5.Cleveland Yet, I think each team mentioned is truly equal and any of these 5 can beat each other on any night. I think that this is the best Region (Region 3AAA) in all of basketball in the state this year. We all know that Bradley is the top team, but when you get to the Region tournament there is about 7 of the 8 teams that will make it into the Region, that could make it to the Region Finals. In most Region Tourneys you could at least predict the first round games, but not in this Region. I think that in District 6.. Brainerd, Ooltewah, and Central are all toss ups for the top 3 spots, and Red Bank will take the 4th spot. In District 5..Bradley will take the top spot, and any of the 4 between Cumberland, Cleveland, Rhea, and McMinn are all toss ups for the 2-4 spots. The only predicted win you can predict going into the Region is that Bradley will beat Red Bank if that is the match-up. Yet, my most bold prediction would be to say that I think that Bradley will get upset somewhere in the Region because this Region is that good, but I haven't decided if I actaully think that or not..so don't hold me to it..
  24. Your picks were pretty good, but I am just going to add a few more.. Jeff Smith (Tyner) Courtney White (Ooltewah) Corey Sanders (Brainerd) Jonathan Adams (Baylor) Charles Little (Cleveland) Wes Suiter (Bradley) Yarrish Hammonds (Bradley) Caleb Skogan (Temple) That is all I can think of at this point..But I am sure I left a few off..
  25. Well well, Imrightyoure wrong. It appears I just might be right. You are correct that I have seen Brainerd in person, and My prediction held true. Cleveland last night went to Brainerd High School and beat Brainerd by 17. I don't think that this will be the last loss that you will see Brainerd come out with. I knew when the rankings came out that they were overrated. Yet, I will tell you they have a huge test Tuesday against Ooltewah at Ooltewah. I can't say you were wrong because you haven't really seen them and you were goin by the record and whatever one says, but I will tell you that I knew this one. If you ever need to know anything about any Chattanooga teams just ask me and I will tell you...
