  1. Heritage won 89-69. It was a 17 point game at the half but Ooltewah fought back and made it interesting the 2nd half. The final score does not say much for how the 2nd half turned out. Watkins had 34 and McClellan had 38 for Heritage. Ooltewah came out dead and they played that way most of the first half.
  2. Temple won on two free throws by Dee Newson with 8 secs left. Temple 60 Soddy 58
  3. Soddy won in the 6 o'clock game 65-30 over LFO. Ooltewah won in the 7:30 70-55 over Southeast Whitfield.
  4. Hooterville, I think he was referring to the fact that Soddy isnt goin to the playoffs this year and this is their simulation of one. Winning it would be a strong building block for next year's team. However, I dont think they can. Owls by 10.
  5. After watching the Owls play both the Admirals and the Wildcats, I would have to say that the Wildcats are the better of the two teams. Yes the Admirals whooped the Owls and the Owls beat Oak Ridge but I think that was just a tale of two different Ooltewah teams not a reflection of their opponents. Breaking It Down OFFENSE Rushing Game- Oak Ridge- Spencer is the best rusher I have seen in a long time outside of Gerald Riggs as far as high school but Moore and Sterling arent bad either Passing Game- Farragut- After watching the Wildcats against the Owls, if the run doesnt have Owls, Oak Ridge's offense might struggle. Connor is a great athlete and playmaker but just not quarterback. However if he can find Revell things can happen. DEFENSE Rushing Game- Oak Ridge- Yes the Reviez boys are great but Oak Ridge held the Owls to 94 yards rushing. Farragut seemed to struggle a lil in the first half against the run. Passing Game- Farragut- always in position and ready to make a play. Oak Ridge makes plays but get lost quite often too. SPECIAL TEAMS Toss-up I think after Oak Ridge's lost to the Owls they come back with vengeance. They are playing at home and have alot to play for as well as the Admirals. I think if the Admirals stay in it early and can get past the mental edge I think they have a chance of winning. It will be a hard fought game but I think the Wildcats pull it out. Good luck to both and I have to hope Farragut wins so my Owls dont have to travel to Kingsport (if we can beat Soddy). Should be a great one and I wouldnt want to see the season end any other way than the title game in week 10. Unless it was my Owls
  6. Its not a sure 4th place finish for the Owls. If Oak Ridge loses to Farragut and William Blount beats Heritage and the Owls beat Soddy that creates a 3-way tie for 2nd. None of the seeds are set in this region yet. I do think this region can win all four games in the first round no matter what the seeds are especially after the Owls show that they do have some heart tonight.
  7. Halls won the game 9-3 and went home the Trojan Classic Champs. They are a very good team and it was nice to have them in Chattanooga to present some great out of town competition. Their game against Ooltewah was a good one. Errors were the only reason either team got runs. Congratulations and good luck.
  8. Lockwood from Knox Halls today hit a shot in the finals of the Trojan Classic. The wind was a strong crosswind from the leftfield foul pole towards first base. He hit the ball back in the trees at Soddy out by the big pine in right. It had to be close to 450. It was a BOMB!!!
  9. Ooltewah defeated Red Bank 86-79.Brown scored 25,White 23,Porter 20 and Murray had 15.
  10. Sophmore Brad Qualls is the name your looking for.
  11. I would highly doubt if anybody did b/c nobody is returning a dominant team. Cleveland would be the best chance but not with their region. Going undefeated is about near impossible nowadays in high school basketball.
  12. I think he means Keith Dodd. He went to Chatt Central last year and moved into Bradley County sometime over the summer I believe. He is about 6'9 i think may be wrong but plays real weak unless he has made a bunch of improvements over the summer. Ooltewah does not have a sophmore named Brad Qualls. I know there is a freshmen that is named Brad but I dont know his last name and in my own personal opinion he isnt even the best freshmen they have. Anyways, I was at a camp with Justin a year ago or so and he was a real good player, didnt look like he was just gonna be a freshmen then. Although I didnt see him play last year, after watching Oglesby in a couple of freshmen and JV games it would be tough to compete. I guess we will see when the season comes around and they get their chance to have an impact at the varsity level. As for the Ooltewah sophmores: Roach, Saunders, and Morgan, Saunders will be the 7th man this year and once he learns the system and gets to consistently makin more good plays than bad, he could possibly get a starting spot by the end of the season. Roach will play a little on varsity, he needs to hit the weight room and get some strength but he could make a big impact next year. Morgan is a step behind because of football but if he could get back to how he played over the summer he could make an impact next year.
  13. Ooltewah opens up with Notre Dame at home in the Hall of Fame game this Thursday. Next Monday they have a big region game against Cleveland that is a tough game for ANY team to start on at the "New Barn." Then they go to a Thanksgiving Tournament at Southeast Whitfield in Georgia. Then they are at Mcminn and have Christian Heritage out of Dalton at home the next week.
  14. Notre Dame doesn't have any of their starters due to their football success and if they lose Friday they will all be out there from what I understand. Nokona, the Ooltewah and Brainerd game at the Nest will be on Tuesday, January 18. Anyways I am just ready to get the season started next Thursday at the Nest against Notre Dame.
