  1. I agree that Ryan Williams stepped up for yall and played well tonight, but as you go on in the Tournaments, You are going to find out that he is no Zack Woods and you are really going to miss him.
  2. Ooltewah moves onto the Championship Game of District 6-AAA with an 11-0 win over Central. It was ended with an exclamation mark as Kyler Burke hit a homerun to put Ooltewah over the edge. Justin HIgdon completed the complete game shutout. They did all this without star shortstop Zach Woods who was recently dismissed from the team. How will the Owls fair in the championship and the rest of the season without Woods?
  3. Well I heard Hicks had a great game for McMinn, but I heard that he was counterd by Foster in the first half who probably actually had the best game for Ooltewah. They said White didn't come alive till late third quarter and the fourth.
  4. Well I was one who predicted the finals to feature Ooltewah and Bradley but both decided to take an early exit on me. Yet, I will still stay true with my predictions that no matter who comes out of this Region, they will still get beat in the Sub-State and no one from this Region will make it to the Big Show.
  5. I just want to say congrats to Ooltewah on having such a good season. This time last year not many people thought this team would amount to much, losing 4 Seniors and only returning 1 starter. We have seen many step up in big ways throughout the season. Brown, Foster, Porter all stepped up huge to help out Courtney throughout the season. I just want to say congrats on a great season and a big District Championship that not even last years team can say they have. Courtney White, Brandon Brown, Chris Foster, Curtis Porter, Will Westbrooke and all the other seniors I hope that you all move on and do well at the next level or where ever your life may take you. Thanks for the good memories.
  6. First Round- Bradley 78 Red Bank 59 Cleveland 73 Brainerd 63 Cumberland 68 Soddy Daisy 64 Ooltewah 72 McMinn 65 Semi Finals Bradley 74 Cleveland 66 Ooltewah 68 Cumberland County 63 Finals Bradley 68 Ooltewah 59 Bradley and Ooltewah or whoever make it to the Sub-State will both lose their Sub-State games.
  7. Anyone know if Corey Sanders will play in the Region tournament? I think that Brainerd played just as well against Ooltewah without him then they did the first two games against the Owls with him.
  8. Dream on!!! Ooltewah will most definately not be Region Champs!! Red Bank will not come close to beating Bradley. Brainerd will not beat Cleveland again with or without Corey Sanders. And if Ooltewah is lucky enough to beat McMinn then they better be ready for Cumberland County or they will be done. Ooltewah might make the finals but there is no way they can win it.
  9. Wow!! Where can I start about this game. It was one of the best High School basketball games I have ever seen. Ooltewah really deserved to win this ball game tonight. Coming up big for the Owls, none was bigger that the play of gaurd Chris Foster. He is the heart of the team and knocked down so many shots. The thing that impressed me the most was his hustle and will to win. The play where he threw the ball up for an oop and got it stolen and then turned around and just ripped a steal right from the guy and turned and laid it in was amazing. He really was the emotionall leader for this team, even after he fouled out in overtime. My MVP of the tournament though has to go to Mr. Brandon Brown. The kid was getting bumped and slapped all night and he didn't get frustrated, he just took over the game in the 4th quarter. No one on that floor could stop him. He was close to being the quickest, but he made up for the rest by his smarts. He really played an amazing game and deserved to be MVP. Curtis Porter was huge in the overtime periods. He played great the whole game but he really stepped up and took over the game when the 2nd OT started especially. He fought for so many rebounds late in the game and what about him knocking down those clutch free throws. Courtney White just carried his team. He took them from the first quarter to the 2nd OT. He really played a tremendous ball game and he as well took the game over in the 4th quarter. The Sanders kid, Murray, and the other big man really had some key plays suck as three pointers and blcoks. They helped key a victory. And Ron Baker deserved a win like this and he did a great job. The Brainerd Panthers really play some solid ball tonight. Last night against Soddy Daisy the did not have a great game, but the came to play tonight. They really did play good. Daryl Ivery was tremendous. He had 27 points and kept them in the game late. He knocked down several three pointers. Emmanual Talley really couldnt get in the grrove tonight. He hit several good shots but seemed like he couldn't pull it all together. Cadarius Williams is the guy that came in and hit the clutch 2 pointer at the buzzer to tie the game and send it to overtime and it was a heck of a shot. And I caled an Ooltewah win. Leading Scorers- Ooltewah- Brown 24 pts 5 assists, White 21, Foster 18 pts 7 assists, Porter 17 pts 11 rebounds. Brainred- Daryl Ivery 27, Emmanual Talley 15, EJ Harris 8
  10. Looks to me like in the wake of all that has happend this past week the Region Brackets will look like this. Top Side of the Bracket District 5 #1 - Bradley vs. District 6 #4 Soddy Daisy District 6 #2 - Brainerd vs. District 5 #3 Cleveland Bottom Side of the Bracket District 6 #1 - Ooltewah vs. District 5 #4 McMinn County District 5 #2 - Cumberland County vs. District 6 #3 Red Bank I feel that this is what the brackets will look like, although I think you could switch Red Bank and Soddy Daisy because I think that will be a close game, and I am not sure who will take that one. What does everyone think?
  11. The game tonight should be huge game. I hope that everyone comes out and makes this a packed house. I think that Ooltewah can and should win this game if it gets good performances from its key players. I also think that Foster has to play better than he did Tuesday for this team to win. Murray needs to continue his great play. Brainerd really needs Emmanual Talley to carry them through the game tonight. Everyone for Brainerd has to saddle up on his back and ride him to victory. White and the other big kid for Brainerd need to have good nights for The Panthers to counter Porter and Ooltewah's White. I think that the key for Brainerd though is that Williams takes smart shots and plays undercontrol. This should really be a great game. Brainerd 57 Ooltewah 66
  12. That is IMPRESSIVE. We know for sure that Bradley will be a 1 or 2 seed going into the Region from District 5. Ooltewah and Brainerd will be one and two seeds coming in from District 6. We will know whose where after Thursday night.
  13. Personally I do not think that Ooltewah wants to play Soddy Daisy again. You know what they say, "It's Hard to beat a good team three times." And I think that Ooltewah is lucky they are not meeting Soddy Daisy again because I think Soddy would have a great chance, where as I feel Ooltewah has a better chance against a Sanderless Brainerd.
  14. Ooltewah played Brainerd close both times they had Corey Sanders and probably should have won one of those times. I think that Brainerd could be in trouble without Corey Sanders. They are really going to have to be knocking down their shots. I don't think playing at Brainerd is that much of a homecourt advantage. Ooltewah already played a better game there early, and from a fans point of view if you were at the Soddy-Brainerd game last night, The Soddy fans were 10x Louder than the Brainerd fans. Just like I said in Grads Class AAA Region 3 post on how I thought the Region would line up. 1. Ooltewah 2. Brainerd 3. Red Bank 4. Soddy Daisy
  15. Dfend56 made an excellent view of the game. The refs got progressively worse as the game went on. They began to call many calls that they would not have called earlier in the game. Brainerd was lucky to pick that win. I don't think that Soddy Daisy would have won even if the tech wasn't called but it sure made a big difference. There were three things that I thought were key to this game. I thought that Soddy should have won this game but let it get away. 1) Brainerd really missed the absence of Corey Sanders. I understand that Soddy Daisy is playing without Darden, but he is not relyed on by his team like Corey Sanders is by Brainerd. He is a difference maker out on the court and it showed his absence. Talley began to drive more than he should, when he was knocking down several outside shots, but without Sanders they didn't have a great ball handler besides Talley. I feel that Corey Sanders let down his team, his coach, and his community with what he did knowing the consequences could be displinary actions that could take him out of basketball. I don't know how long he is gone but they need him back by Thursday, and especially next week. 2) I feel that Russel McNeil is a great player. He can make so many things happen and he wants to win the game very bad. But I also feel that he does not have enough confidence in his teamates around him. I do give him credit for driving the floor and tieng the game. But I think if you ask anyone there he tried to do way to much and should have given the ball up several times when he forced shots. I think that he is a great player and will turn out to be a tremendous ball player if he just learns when to give it up. 3) Cornelius Williams had to be the one to step up tonight in the place of Corey Sanders and I thought that he tried to be way to much like Corey. He did hit some good shots, but he made some very dumb turnovers and tried to force way to many things. I think that he ended up doing a decent job but he needs to control himself thursday and not try to do so much.
