1. Do you even read the posts????....Are you blind?? Almost every post says that Ooltewah should have won the game. 1 Post even list reasons how Ooltewah lost the game for themselves. The only complaint they are making about the call was that it was in the last second and it was a call with 1 second remaining and letting the teams play it out in OT. But yet they made a call that decided the game from the point it was at.
2. Like I said in my first post, I know that many people will get on here and say that the Ooltewah fans, and even those who aren't really Ooltewah fans like myself, are just making excuses about the game. If you weren't at the game then you didn't see what happend and know how the game ended. LionHeart - I am not talking about games that you saw tht were poorly officiated, but how many games have you seen where a ref calls a foul (ona loose ball) with 1 second to go that ultimately decideds the game. You just don't see that, it is unheard of and that is why this was being made into such a big deal, no excuses just an unbelievable call. Because like Myself and everyone else has said, Ooltewah had plenty of chances before the final call to win the game.
3. I agree with you and I think that this just might give Ooltewah enough motivations to come out and beat Brainerd in the tournament, knowing that not only did they blow the game at the end, but as well had the officials give it away in the last second literally. Delron.. You commented on the Owls moving Foster to the point. I don't think this team would be better with him at the point for two reasons. 1) He is not quick enough to play the point gaurd position like Brandon Brown is. He might be able to see the floor better, but most of the entry passes into the post are from the wings where he is now and not at the point position. 2) He is one of their best shooters. If you put him at point then you are taking away alot of his open looks. 3) They need Murray in the starting rotation because he is arguably their best shooter. Last night was just a sample of what he did last year at the JV level and even the varsity level when he came in the game. When he is knocking shots down like last night, the opposing team can't concentrate on the Post players of Foster on the other wing and have to recognize Murray. And I think Murray has finally found his groove. Ooltewah had plenty of chances to win that ball game. 1) With about 1.30 left on the clock Foster shoots a wide open three of a screen that would have put them up by 7 and ultiamately decided the ball game. 2) With a minite to go if White knocks down the two free throws Ooltewah goes up by 6 and Brainerd starts fouling and Ooltewah knocks them down. 3) The inbounds pass on the press that was just thrown the length of the court was just a gift to Brainerd for 2 points which cut the lead to 2. 4) And Finally if Brandon Brown nails that floater from 5 ft. which he normally does, they win the game. But you have to remember they count as much in the first quarter as they do in the last. Plenty of chances to win last night.
4. http://chattanoogan.com/articles/article_61943.asp Thats the article on the Chattanoogan. It is written by a young writer. He does not explain the last 18 seconds clearly or correctly as he makes it seem like Sanders brought the ball up the court and then Ivery was fouled. Yet, there was a loose ball after Ooltewah missed a shot that the foul was called on with 1 second remaining under the Ooltewah basket.
5. 1. Ooltewah 2. Should unless Picket County can knock them off at the dance. 3. They are pretty darn close to being better than Jakes team, but they have to win it all first.
6. what did they do to make them lack class?
7. First off I know that everyone is going to say that everyone in this post is making excuses. And I want to clerify that there are no excuses being made. Ooltewah was up by 4 with 50 seconds to go and should have closed the game out and won the game, but they didnt. The game was back and forth just like the first meeting between these two teams, and it was no dissapointment in a basketball game. Yet, the bad call came when they game was tied at 60 with 18 seconds to go and Brandon Brown for Ooltewah drove down the lane and layed it up and the ball rolled around the back of the rim. The ball was then knocked up in the air where it found the hands of both an Ooltewah and Brainerd players. The Brainerd guy was over an Ooltewah man who was underneath him and the Ooltewah player with hands on the ball was beside the Brainerd guy fighting for the ball. The refs with 1.4 seconds to go in the game call a foul sending Brainerd to the line for 1 and 1. You know as a ref never to make a call that will end up deciding the game, and that is exactly what happend. Refs are told late in the game with seconds remaining do not make a questionable call that will decide the game. And this is exactly what happend. Personally I think the refs were intimidated by Robert High who chewed the refs out before the third quarter started. Just my opinion though. Now all credit goes to Brainerd, they hung in there and made a great comeback when Ooltewah should have put the game away and didn't. They knocked down clutch free throws. Now should I say a third meeting between these two teams will be spectacular.
8. I saw this happen. The player got up at the end of the third after Grace had sunk the shot at the buzzer and the player went over to shake hands with the opposing team thinking the game was over.
9. This district can come down to the very end and it will. You could see a change in seeds, but who knows. I think when the tournament starts, No one is Safe.
10. This game could go either way, just like any game in the District. Last time it went down to the wire, and I dont expect anything less this time around.
11. Wow. I can't believe I left out Johnathan Adams. You are totally right. I didn't leave him out on purpose, I just didn't think of Baylor when I was going through the list. Adams would be on my team and start. Check Above.
12. Starting Five: PG- Brandon Brown (Ooltewah) Best true point gaurd I have seen. SG- Terence Oglesby (Bradley) SHOOTER. He can do it all, set shot or create his own. SF- Johnathan Adams (Baylor) Good player who can shoot or take it to the hole. PF- Wes Suiter (Bradley) Can over power you down low and step outside and knock it down. C- Charles Little (Cleveland) Best player in the state inside of 5 feet around the rim. Courtney White and Yarrish Hammonds would be the first two off of my bench. Both very talented players who can take it inside and out. Also could put Beau Brown, Corey Sanders, or Caleb Skogan at either of the two gaurd positions to start.
13. Gaurds- Emanual Talley -Brainerd Corey Sanders- Brainerd Brandon Brown - Ooltewah Russel McNeil - Soddy Daisy Terence Ogelsby - Bradley Caleb Skogan - Temple Rodney Marsh - CSAS Beau Brown- McMinn Central Yarrish Hammonds - Bradley Central Forwards- Charles Little - Cleveland Courtney White - Ooltewah Wes Suiter - Bradley Jeff Smith - Tyner Johnathan Adams- Baylor And when making this list I noticed that Chattanooga is very gaurd orriented, and there aren't to many true big men that belong on an all-star team.
14. I thought that list might help out. I think that Oglesby has more potential talent than anyone on that list. I watched him play the other night and he is amazing. He has a beautiful set shot and is a wizard at creating his own shot. Then he showed me even more when he broke down court and dunked one home. He is about 6'2 or 6'3 and could grow a little bit more. I think that he could go Division 1 and even Major Division 1. He is one heck of a ball player.
15. Well I went to the game at Grace on Saturday and you could tell that Pickett County was a very good team. Now I am just an onlooker and I was not cheering for Grace or Pickett County, but here are my views on the game. I thought that Pickett County had tons of potential and I could tell that the Baily kid and the Wright kid who was #1 had tons of talent. If these two would have not been in foul trouble i believe that this game would have been a blowout. The only thing I didn't like about the Baily kid is that he seemed to force a few shots. Pickett County did a really good job of getting after Grace on the defensive end of the ball. The press was very effective on the Grace team, however I believe that better coaching from Grace could have beaten the trap a little easier. One negative I really saw about the Pickett County team is they struggled with their free throws big time. If they would have just hit their free throws it would have been over in the thrid quarter. I just think that Pickett County didn't play their best ball and Saturday. And in Pickett County's defense I do agree that they had tons of bad calls that went the other way. Especially at the end with the whole timeout deal, there were just several bad calls against Pickett.

17. Caleb Skogen- Temple Russell McNeil- Soddy Daisy Brandon Brown- Ooltewah Johnathan Adams- Baylor Adam Plavich- Baylor Randall Smith- Red Bank Rodeney Marsh- CSAS Corey Sanders- Brainerd Emanual Talley- Brainerd Beau Brown- McMinn Central Dominique Jones- Chatt. Central Ternece Ogalsby- Bradley Yarrish Hammonds- Bradley Josh Jenkins- Rhea County Colby Dodd- Cleveland Alex Goldston- Cleveland Allen Ray- Howard Jeff Smith- Tyner Davis Eldridge- Grace I think that pretty much covers it....I am sure I left out a few.
18. I am going to go with Red Bank. Red Bank has really improved and it seems that Soddy has stepped back since they have enterd district play and started on a tougher schedule. I think it will be another close game that is decided in the 4th quarter, but I am going with Red Bank by 8.
19. What cracks me up about this is how everyone thinks it's a big win when they beat SD and then claim they are overrated. If they are not any good, as most claim, how can it always be a big win when you beat them? 825539505[/snapback] I think the only reason people think it is a big win when they beat Soddy is cause of how much they hear about them. Same goes when a team beats Ooltewah. These teams are still good, just overrated. And I agree that Cleveland and CSAS are somewhat overrated.
20. Ooltewah got beat by Walker Valley last night.
21. Nope not at all. How is that an excuse for Ooltewah. Their starters played horrible. They deserved to lose the game. Walker Valley did the right things and hit enough shots to secure the win. Ooltewah has just as much talent as anyone in the area, but can't put it together at the same time. Not an excuse, just the truth.
22. The scoreboard is correct. It could have been one of the worst performances by Ooltewah's starters all year. No one for them had a good game. They have tons of talent but can't put it together.
23. Did you not read anything MNewballer21 put?...They have a good record...only 2 losses, and for the most part are known as a powerhouse in the state. That is why they are rated so high. Most of the AP voters probably have not seen them play, but they know they are traditionally good and that they have a good record this year so they vote them high. And Bradley is a heck of a ball club.
24. Personally I think that hosting the Region, Ooltewah was the perfect place to have it. They have a brand new gym, plenty of room in there, and best of all its right in the middle of both of the districts. Ooltewah really did a great job of hosting it last year, and I wish they could host it again.
