  1. I'm not quite sure who THE player is for Hume-Fogg, but I understand from someone close to their program that it is their point guard. Whoever their "go to" player is, I can assure you they've never felt pressure from a defense like they'll see when # 23 O'asha Parks is guarding her. Whoever HF's biggest threat is, Parks will be guarding her and when Parks is guarding a player, they NEVER produce like they would normally. Best of luck to both teams. Walker Valley walks away with this one by 15. I know you don't believe that because it's a sub-state game, but let's just wait and see. It may be a lot closer than that, but Walker Valley hasn't played well for three games in a row. I just think they're due! Go Lady Mustangs
  2. Maybe the teams from 7AA just don't play on the road well in the sectionals. I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking one of those "elite" teams from 7AA went on the road to a 5AA McMinn Central and lost by 15 points (65-50). Perhaps their not as good when they have to travel. Of course, it could be that the Lady Mustangs won't win their region, and may have to travel again this year......yeah right!
  3. Alfred you are correct! BBALLTN is a big baby! Quit making excuses already. The tournaments haven't even started yet. Oh yeah, and who in their right mind would want to VOLUNTEER to play up in ANY sport when you are a BRAND NEW SCHOOL? No one, except BBALLTN.......Oh, yeah, I said in their right mind...I forgot. I hope the Lady Mustangs beat everyone by at least 20 points...especially BBALLTN'S TEAM (if they make it far enough to play Walker Valley)
  4. I am doubting that. On what basis can you say that? There are so many freshmen and sophomores in the State of Tennessee. There is no possible way that you can say that the even "one" of the best groups of freshmen and sophomores in the entire state. I've seen them play, and they are good. But that's just it. GOOD. Not Great, not the best, just good. The only way to determine that they are one of the best groups in the state is to wait until they are starters and "contributors" on a regular basis and advance to the state tournament. Right now, the Cleveland girl's team (coach Powell Moore) plays about 7 players, at most against good competition. And to say the "scrubs" played, is a huge over-statement. There were at least three starters in the game in the 4th quarter with 6:00 remaining in the game. Not only I, but everyone should have a problem with that when the score is so lop-sided.
  5. This is a ridiculous discussion. I've been off of these boards for almost a whole year now, and I have heard (read) all I can stand. Walker Valley is a very good team. I have watched all three teams from the Cleveland/Bradley County area this season and it is obvious that Cleveland is the best team in the county. That does not mean that one of the others can't or won't beat them. I would almost guarantee though, that the next time WV and Cleveland play, it won't be a 26 point win for the Lady Raiders. I was at the game at WV last night, and thought the girls from Walker Valley are, at least 15 points better than the Lady Bears on most nights. They (Walker Valley)only shot 33% from the floor according to the Chattanooga paper this morning, and Bradley shot around 40%. I think the AAA folks that are saying things like "wait until next year WV", or "the big leagues" will be surprised to see that Walker Valley will be right there in the hunt even at AAA level. Oh, by the way JustDoIt, care to mention a name as to who will be moving to WV? I think I have a very good idea, but was curious as to who you think it is.
  6. Well, this is interesting. We all knew from the very beginning that the Walker Valley baseball program would be a huge success, and it has been. We expected the Lady Mustangs basketball team to be successful, and it has been. We really didn't know about the "other" sports such as football (last year undefeated in the region), boy's basketball (last year first place in district - regular season), track (3rd in individual state meet last year), boys and girls soccer (continue to dominate), but now the softball team wins the REGION CHAMPIONSHIP OVER PERINIAL POWERHOUSE East Ridge! WOW! I also understand that there are NO SENIORS on the Lady Mustangs softball team. Congrats Ladies I guess the only question is, how has a school only three years old become so successful so early? AMAZING!
  7. Hey "Strongarm", apparently you don't even know who your talking to because Alfred doesnt' even play basketball. He happens to be one of the most knowledgable baseball minds in the area. So, before you talk SMACK to someone you may want to know WHO it is you're talking to. I personally think Dye will dominate the cubbies. I think Geren will go with the gas and pitch that Ledford kid. I hear he can really bring it, huh?
  8. I personally believe that WV can throw their third or fourth pitcher against a weak Tellico team (both days) and save Dye kid for Bradley. Boy, it just doesn't look good for any "Bears" this week huh? Bears on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Must be bear season in the Valley
  9. Geren is probably already planning for this game. Not the players, just the excuses. He's the greatest at coming up with a "reason" for NOT winning the big one. Yeah, the loser of this game will, undoubtedly claim that it "just doesn't matter". RIGHT! Tell the players on each team that it doesn't matter. From my perspective, it doesn't matter if Walker pitches their # 4 or # 5 pitcher and Bradley pitches their # 1, it all comes down to coaching and the boys from the "Valley" have the advantage when coaching comes into play.
  10. Seen a lot of them the past few years, but without a doubt the best up the middle are: Joe Kuglar (SS) Brandon Turner (2B) HANDS DOWN (get it?)
  11. Hey folks, it's nice to know that others are noticing Alyson too (and not just those from her own district). She is the real deal. There have been several colleges watching her (division I), but can't talk to her until AFTER her junior year. I'm sure you all know about all of that. She is very special, but is also surrounded by a ton of talent that will all be back next year. I understand that they Livingston folks were very impressed with the whole team. Next year should be a VERY good year for the Lady Mustangs. Good luck!
  12. Thanks for the support boysfan. I really was being sincere. To you Peacemaker... I'll honor your request.
  13. Here is the tournament web site. Just click below and it will take you to where you can get all the information you need about the tournament. It would surprise me if two of these teams end up in Murfreesboro. The tournament is being played at Chattanooga State. Region 3AA Tournament
  14. I was able to get some information from the Region meeting this morning for this region and one of the guys in the meeting has set up a web site that show all of the games, times, schedules, etc. Here is the address: Region 3AA Tournament Should be a good one. I believe it's being held at Chattanooga State
  15. Hey mctigers; I agree, a referee can make a difference in momentum, prejudice, etc. But that only applies in CLOSE games. The way I read it, Walker Valley beat you guys by 26 points! Hey, get over it! Oh by the way icecold, the Chargers only beat Sequoyah by 7 points.
