  1. And for the other games G-P at Claiborne, Union Co. at West Greene, Pigeon Forge at Chuckey Doak, and Cumberland Gap at South Greene. It shouldn't be that exciting of a night tomorrow. Union Co. and Pigeon Forge should handle both of their games easily even though they are in Greene Co. West Greene just doesn't have the experience to compete this season and Pigeon has too much talent to let this one slip away because if them and South Greene win out they hold the tie breaker. South Greene will win big at home against a struggling Cumberland Gap team. The best game of the night will probably be the G-P at Claiborne game. Claiborne should win but all their games are close and they keep the game slow and that benefits G-P. This will probably be the only game decided by under 10 points. But once again anything can happen in this district so maybe and hopefully I'm wrong.
  2. I think Seymour will win in the rematch against the Pioneers they have had two big road wins @ Fulton and @ Pigeon Forge. So they should be able to get the win at home. Both teams are playing great as of late so it should be a good close game.
  3. Wow what a bold statement laduke about Union. They most certainly have not seen their last win because I believe they have a game @ West Greene Friday night. They also have Gibbs left on their schedule. They have a great chance to win @ home against South Greene as well. If they play together and not who can score the most points, they can beat anyone. I think it just gets to some of the players, that they need to score and take too many forced shots. We will see in the end if they can pull it together.
  4. The only thing you can do to stop Anderson Co., is to hope they are having an off night. It isn't impossible because they have lost 6 games. They are the best shooting TEAM around but all good shooters have bad nights. They are kinda small and you should play man to man to defend against it. If a team puts forth a concerted effort on the defensive end and keeps the game in the 40s or 50s, they can win. On last nights performance, that was incredible and I hope they can keep it up, I enjoy watching them play.
  5. Chill out KevB I'm not trying to take anything away from your boys at Rutledge, it was a great win against Pigeon but PioneerPirate was right, I was talking about home loses. Sorry about the misunderstanding. About the games tonight, since the trend as of late is "can you beat me at my place," I'm gonna have to go with the home teams. Rutledge over South Greene, Union Co. over Chuckey Doak, and Pigeon Forge over Claiborne. The Rutledge and South Greene game should be the best of the night but I don't think the Rebels can keep up with Rutledge with the rowdies letting the presence being felt. They have proven over the last month that they are legit and key players have been stepping up. If they continue to get production from Phelps and Solomon, along with what Singleton and Day already bring watch out. Rutledge wins by 5-10. Union Co. has had some major letdowns on the road this season, loses at G-P, Chuckey Doak, Claiborne, and a 45 point beating against Pigeon Forge. However, they are a totally different team at home so they will win this game by about 10. Chuckey Doak has played much better but I dont see them putting two road wins together in a row. Union Co. can always expect Grigsby to produce, but when the defense keys on him the other players need to step up. Oxley tried the other night with 18 but noone followed his lead, lets see if they can get some more help from other people tonight. Finally, Pigeon should have no problems with Claiborne at home. Claiborne is #4 in the district but the top 3 have already separated themselves from the group behind. Pigeon lost a tough game last night so expect them to rebound tonight. They will win by 15-20 tonight but expect it to be closer @ Claiborne in a few weeks. Are there anymore games in district tonight?
  6. Claiborne does still have to play Pigeon Forge twice and the game @ Claiborne should be interesting, they don't have a chance on the road. It is just crazy how home court advantage helps teams win games. The top 5 teams have all handled their home games. South Greene hasn't lost @ home, Pigeon's only loss is to SG, Rutledge was upset by CG, Union lost on a buzzer beater to Pigeon Forge, and Claiborne lost to Rutledge. If I was a visiting team against any of these 5 I would be worried. Chuckey Doak had a nice win @ CG Friday but I don't think they have what it takes to beat Union on the road, even though they did beat them once already. Union needs to get things straight, one game they look like they could beat anybody and the next they look terrible. I saw in the paper that they only had 2 players score Friday in their 2 point loss @ Claiborne. Oxley had 18 and Grigsby had 17. Where was the rest of the team at or was Claiborne's defense that good? As bad as Cumberland Gap is playing at home, West Greene could come in and get their 1st district win. They have been playing well and only lost by 5 a couple of weeks ago to CG. This one should be interesting.
  7. Well I didnt want to believe it last week but Rutledge does seem to have it going now. They have lost since the first week of January @ Union Co. and their role players are stepping up big time, especially Soloman. South Greene is #1 but I have been saying all year that they keep the game ugly and win in the end. I think that since the game is @ Rutledge and the place will be rockin', that Rutledge wins. I think if they get the same production from the bench they will win by 10-12.
  8. I would have to say Rutledge is a very tough place to play. Their fans are brutal towards the other team. It is such a small gym and fans come and pack the place no matter who the Pioneers are playing. It is also very tough to play anywhere in Greeneville, South Greene, Chuckey Doak, or Greenville are all rough places to play at.
  9. The West Greene and Rutledge game is going to be a joke. Even though West Greene finally got their first win and has played a little better as of late, Rutledge has played well and it is @ Rutledge. Rutledge will win the game by 30 or more. Pigeon should handle GP easily as well, it is a cross county rivalry but not a close game, Pigeon by 20. The Union @ Claiborne game should be the best game of the night. Union got back on track the other night with a win against GP but this one is on the road and the Pats will be lookin for their first district road win. Claiborne is one up on Union in the loss column so that should give them some motivation, plus it is against one of their biggest rivals. Claiborne is tough @ home and Debusk and Veach have been playing well for Claiborne. I think Union has straightened things out from the Pigeon Forge blowout and can win this game. If they do win it will be a close game but it is just hard to pick this game because both teams are up and down. I say Claiborne by 3 but I also believe Union will probably lead the whole game and give it up in the 4th.
  10. Any word of Rutledge-Hancock game? :justwrestle:
  11. Glee, Rutledge is 12-5 overall and 8-4 in the conference. They lost @ South Greene, @ Forge, @ Union Co., Cumberland Gap @ home and @ Gibbs in overtime. The three road loses in the district are against #1,#2, and #4 the Cumberland Gap game was an upset. I might have to agree with Day and Singleton being the best backcourt in East Tennessee but I havent seen everyone. They can be stopped however, because they have a weak supporting cast that doesnt show up everynight. Rutledge is a good team and will be heard from come tournament time if they can get everyone playin. :justwrestle:
  12. Hancock don't have much left this year glory, they lost all of their startes except for Belcher, and you could argue that he was their weakest one but you never know it could be a good game but I doubt it. It does depend on how much Day and Singleton are going to play but I say Pioneers by 20. About Hancock's new coach he has been to Chuckey Doak, Union and Washburn, I don't believe he was at Seymour unless it was a long time ago because they have had the same staff for a while. Anyway it's not that he is a master technician because if he was he would have won more games than he did. I just think people didn't understand his way of doing things at those places so he didn't last more than a year at any of them. It is kinda sad but maybe he can turn things back around at Hancock if he's given more than a year. Are there any other games tonight with anyone from the district other than Rutledge.
  13. I'm sure the Rowdies will be fired up because they have been all season no matter who the opponent is, they are just good fans. However, I do not believe it will be a close and exciting game. Rutledge is just to good a team for a rebuilding Hancock team to handle on the road. Hancock has had its ups and downs this season but for their standards this season is a failure. They are still adjusting to the style of their new coach. They did lose a whole lot of talent last year. They may hang around early but in the end I expect Rutledge to win in a rout.
  14. You are exactly right mvp04 it is just for a seed. I was just throwing the predictions out there for sport. Tournament time is just around the corner and any of the top 6 teams can win games especially at a nuetral site like it will be for the tourney @ Morristown East. We'll see how everyone is playing after their last couple of games heading into the tourney before making any predictions about that. Good luck to all teams involved.
  15. I have a few predictions for the rest of the season. I believe South Greene will drop out of the top spot by the end of the season and that Pigeon Forge will finish tops with Rutledge finishing third. South Greene still has a game @ Rutledge, @Union Co. and vs. Pigeon Forge. Rutledge will lose another game because their role players will have an off night and if a team can hold Singleton and Day to around 30, it will be hard for them to win. They still have games with South Greene, Union Co., and @Cumberland Gap, all teams who have already beaten them this season. Pigeon could win out if they can pull off a victory @South Greene, which I think they can do because South Greene has been winning ugly and Pigeon has been rolling winning 6 of their last 7 with the only loss coming @ Rutledge on a last second shot by Day. When its all said and done I think it will be like this. Pigeon Forge South Greene Rutledge Union Co. Claiborne Cumberland Gap Gatlinburg-Pittman Chuckey Doak West Greene
