  1. someone should tell (Jim Davis- Clinton's AD)about that...I think he was the one who originally started that situation...??? Have a great year Mr. Kile!
  2. I would probably agree with this one-it seemed as if AC was playing a week 4 or 5 ball game and OR was well,..playing in a jamboree! You could sense the intensity when the offense went on to the field. I was impressed! Clinton's offense seemed very desperate! Reverse pass on the first play? Maybe looking for an early moral victory? I don't think it will be enough to carry them these next two games... ....OR- 49 Clinton 8
  3. Catback, I think he told the boys that it was an Anderson County school but did not mention Clinton. My understanding was, potentially an Offensive Coordinator position at Anderson County High but nothing official yet.
  4. Vegas, sorry to inform you that you only saw Mckamey there telling the kids that he had declined the offer to be their head coach and he left early. Reliable sources (who were there) said he was very complimentary of the school and all involved and that it was a difficult decision. He was truely commited to those boys. He said it was based on a family decision but I can't help to think that he was frustrated with the lack of support from administration. No matter what we'll be there with bells on----Bring on Gatlinberg Pittman!
  5. Well, I am starting to see why Mckamey withdrew his name. Who in their right mind would want to accept a head coaching position in the middle (or end) of July when it could have and should have been handled BEFORE then end of the school year. Don't I remember seeing a post back in April that Frank had resigned? Bottom line is, we are screwed-at least this year.
  6. So here we are and at the end of the day, still no coach? If the principal thinks that there is no rush-that's his opinion,....but if he waits much longer there will be no coaches to choose from. If Mckamey pulled his name from the list then he must have other offers. What about Hood? Math has never been my best subject but it seems that after narrowing it down to 2 from the 5 who applied and now with Mckamey withdrawing his name then, doesn't that leave you with one? Somebody needs to make a decision, the boys deserve to know who there coach is!
  7. Easy now Catback, I heard from a source that Roberts was not part of the interviews. I believe the future of your program rest with the principle. I do think that the assistant principle/AD should have input-but in the end it is decided on by the principle. What do you mean Mckamey has pulled his name "for now"? Is there a chance he will re-consider? When the dead period is over we need our boys ready to win one for the "Giper"-oops guess they don't know who that is! Keep us informed.........
  8. Maybe there is hope, heard that Mckamey was only "considering" pulling his name out because of the long delay. If he leaves does the O-line coach (Mingea-?) go with him? What a loss-2 great minds!
  9. So, Catback, make your prediction for the up coming season. How will the mighty bobcats fair without the direction of the infamous Johnson and the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" Will they still be a power team? Can they beat or compete with Loudon and Alcoa?
  10. In capable hands? That's fine and dandy if it's February! A new coach will have his hands full and a very short time to work with. Who is making the decision-AD, Principle, or community? Why wait until the end of dead period, must be a teaching issue or is football taking a back seat? Catback, do you mean Frank is still working with the program?
  11. My thoughts exactly! Why would Lambert apply? Would this not jeopordize his shot at landing the AC job when Kerr resigns?
  12. It's been over two months since Johnson resigned. What's taking so long in naming a new coach. Rumor was that Mckamey was in line to succeed him but I heard the other day that Tony Lambert (former AC D.Coordinator) and Todd Hood (Clarksville??) had applied. Anyone have any insight?
  13. Ron Brown...cant really argue w/ that one. He'd be a good pick.
  14. I think the writing is on the wall and Tony Lambert saw it that is why he's in Onieda. Josh Kerr will step in and be the next football coach at AC, personally I do not think he is ready and can think of several more qualified coaches (Lambert, Sweetland,Mckamey,Gaylor). But I believe it is Kerr's to lose.
  15. Well yeah them ANDERSON COUNTY BOYS are doin awesome and i think they are going to WIN out for the rest of the season!!
  16. AE shot the lights out tonight. I'm not sure how many three's they hit, I think it was 7 in the first half. The were really shooting well, and AC really shot it poorly, very strange for the Mavs at home where they normally stroke it.
  17. AE is comin off a tough one against Carter where they could have easily lost the game. AC is comin off their most impressive victory against a Scott County team that had been playing well. If AE can keep AC from getting open 3's then they have a great chance. If AC can keep the turnovers down and keep AE from getting easy buckets in transition then they have a great chance. I like AC by 5. 67-62
  18. The mavs out rebounded Scott County 26-2or3 (it was one of those) in the first half. I'm not sure what the final count was.
  19. Coach Eldridge at Anderson County has to be on the list. Talk about getting the most out of your players, AC is always competetive against more talented teams such as Clinton, Oak Ridge,Maryville, and Alcoa. And in many cases they come out on the winning end. AC has also won their district 5 straight years. Coach Eldridge has to be on the list of best coaches in not only East Tennessee but in all of Tennessee.
  20. I haven't heard about a Ukrainian post player coming to Anderson County. If it's true it'll really help Anderson County out. If anyone has anymore information on this please post it.
  21. Clinton always has one of the more talented teams in east Tennessee, and nothing has changed this year. Jonathan Dye is a great athelete and I think people are going to find out about Matt Ford this year he's tall (6'3ish) and can shoot from outside also Jordan Dixon can really shoot, they have all the pieces, is this the year they put it all together?
