Teams that enter TNT are those teams who send in the entry fee. That is the bottom line for entry, not records, TMSAA membership, etc.. Have 100 - 150 bucks? You're in. That said, TNT is a very well run tournamaent that provides a great experience for all involved.

Well, now that we have strayed off the posted path, let's move back into Linden for awhile. Coach Haskins has done a very good job @PCHS. You closely follow a state champion, plus go to a substate your first year, expectations are going to be high. Rural single A teams go through cycles of athletes and talent. Every few years you will be down, then back up. Let's hope for the sake of a good young coach that the good peple of Perry County, form Rhodes on down understand this. This realization, or lack thereof, has contributed to a coaching carousel of sorts in Linden. PCHS is notorious among coaches as a horrible place to coach due to external pressures that should not exist. Leave haskins alone, and let him coach his kids.

He was ejected @ a tournament @ Rutherford, Usually, the TMSAA allows the school principal to administer punishment, that's why he didn't sit out any games.

Good point, Westtn. Bolivar can beat any other team in the region on an off night, but Lexington, Chester County, Milan, and Southside all need to play a near perfect game to beat Bolivar, and they are capable, but Bolivar has to be the hands down favorite.

Strayhorn @ Dyersburg can be one of the best. Bartlett @ Dyersburg has played well recently. Bryant @ Hardin County could be a very good one, but she needs to think more like a PG than a 2G. However, no discussion of the best guards in West Tennessee is complete without mentioning Sha Brooks of Northside. She is the best guard and player in West Tennessee, period.

Coach Smith has a great basketball mind. His teams play hard, they play smart, and they execute. That being said, I don't think he needs to run another high school program until he develops some self control. He has been tossed out of a few junior high games this year for riding officials too hard. When he learns to focus on the game and not the refs, he will be an asset to any program. Until then , he is a liability. That is a terrible shame and waste of a good coach.

This one could go either way. McLemore and Reeves is a good matchup. Guard play will be the key to the outcome. With the game @ JCM, the Cougars win a close one.

Phil Rogers @ JCM is outstanding, as is Terry Glover @ Dyersburg.

Based on what I've seen in 13 AAA so far, Hardin County might finish 3rd. Northside and Dyersburg are far better than JCM or HCHS. The district championship is going to come down to Dyersburg's overall depth versus Sha Brook's sheer dominance. JCM and HCHS are playing to avoid Bolton in the opening round of the region tournament.

Buford Pusser played at Adamsville, not MCHS. I saw Mike Walker post triple doubles twice against Penny Hardaway in AAU's. I'd say that qualifies him as NBA material!

Had to be one of the Walkers. Neal was a gret scorer in the early 80's. D1 ability, but couldn't make the grades. The two that followed were even better: Mike Walker: 6-5 guard, NBA ability, couldn't make the grades at NEMCC Kenny Walker: 6-3 G-F tragically killed in a car accident after his junior year. NBA material.

HCHS should be improved this year. Their guard play is improved, but chemistry could be an issue. You heard right about Mclemore's parents, they do sit on the opposite side of the floor, more for their own protection. A very angry parent apparently confronted them last year. it's all a shame, the kid has a chance to be a good player.
