We played there in a middle school jamboree this season....truly sad how bad the facilities are in such a relatively new building... locker room/weight room was unbelievably bad.... field/track are in terrible shape....obvious that there is no commitment from above...
Good list. Craig isn't leaving NW Tennessee, and MCHS can't afford him. Actually, most of those guys would take substantial pay cuts to take on more headaches. Jones is an interesting choice, but don't think the locals would let that happen.
"I've heard Casey Barksdale who would make sense as well. Great relationship with the players and is well liked in the community."
Not credentialed, and not as well regarded in the community as you've been led to believe. Not well received in the local coaching community as well. Dyersburg needs to move past him if the program is going to continue to be successful.
Burkley is a great coach and better man. He would be a great choice, but I just can't see him leaving Middleton. Both squads can make deep tourney runs on a regular basis. Larue makes a lot of sense. He's had a lot of success in the area. He's won everywhere he's been. There is also a posting on the TSSAA website for a girls' bb assistant at Crockett. This deal may be done already.
This will be interesting. Lot of factors coming into play: rookie principal with no hiring experience, rookie AD coming straight out of an assistant football position, and a lot of changes in NW TN. Don't think Coffman will/should have a role in the hiring.
With a weak schedule, they will finish with 7-8 regular season wins and bow out in the first round of the playoffs. Too many injuries to advance in the playoffs.
He is a class act. Did an excellent job with limited talent. Had the privilege of coaching against him for several years. His teams always played hard and executed very well. His successor isfilling huge shoes and will be hard pressed to improve on what Todd accomplished. Poor decision by Milan admin.
