Honestly, at this point in time......its up to the gods, i guess we'll all find out Friday.

I, along with everyone else have my own preditions on how region 7 is going to turn out. I beleive that most can agree with me when I say there will be some really good matches fought this coming weekend. I know I can't wait to see how it turns out, it should be a lot of fun.

I've heard that Bird from NW(103) is havin really big troubles making it under 110, and thats about the lowest he's been able to get lately.

So basically the top 3 have all been within 1 point of each other. At teh hoptown tourny MC beat NW by one point, CLK beat NW by one point, and CLK beat MC by one. I've heard some talk about the Sycamore kid, anyone have information on how he's done this year?

Do you know by how much Minwell beat Evens of Mont. Central?

160 is not a toss up. The Clarksville kid will win easily. I disagree kkw. I'm not sure how MC did against him but i know NW only lost by 1 point, and was ahead for most of the match. He is a good wrestler, but I think any 3 of those kids can take it, it will come down to who wants it most. I just don't think it'll be a blowout like you're making it sound.

I know last time a thread for region 7 came up the only thing discussed was the bickering of a few 189's and 215's. But does anyone have predictions for who will win the region tourny? I know there will be some very tough matches, so I was just wondering if anyone had preditions on how the tourny will go.

Without heart, you won't get far. you could be the best wrestler, have the most stamina, be the strongest, but if you don't want it, you won't get far. Of course you need all the other elements, but i honestly beleive that heart is the most important key in wrestling. I'd have to say technique and stamina is next. Strength is nice to have, very nice, but i personally am not strong...at all, so i have to rely on the other aspects if i want to win a match. I try to learn the moves we work in practice, and I try to get as good as I can with the moves that I know, a lot of times in the weight class I'm in, i'd say 90% of the people I wrestle against are stronger than me, so i have to rely on what i learn in practice and my stamina to win matches. I've been looked at many times and underestimated just because i have noodle-like arms, but i try hard and work what i know, and most of the time it gets it done.

The northwest 171 is chinetti and he beat both garza and weakley. Any other predictions on other weight classes?

I also heard that Terry is back, and i know Baker is but i'm not quite sure where they will be in the line up. I've heard that Terry will probably go 171 and Baker will be the 189. If thats the case then I'm not sure where Garza will be, if he will try to drop to 160 or what, but those are 2 more strong wrestlers added to the lineup

Centennial does have a decent team yes, but there are many teams i think are the same caliber as them. Many of the guys that were named above are good wrestlers, but i saw some of them get beat this weekend in the semifinals. Franklin is a tough team, but yes they are beatable. However, in a few years, Centennial won't be the only team improving, i'm sure teams like Franklin will be also.

They ran a good tournament if you forget about the weight classes they screwed up, especially 160. Clark Evans was sitting as the #3 seed, should have been #2, but after the tournament started they messed it up and put him down to something like 12 or 13. 160 wasn't the only weight class they messed up, i heard that they had problems with 189 also. There was very good wrestling there no doubt about that, but they did have problems with the brackets, after they said that it wouldn't change after Wednesday night.

I think its stupid that people think wrestling is a gay sport when we're out there trying to inflict as much pain as possible on our competition to make them want to give up....To me it just can't be a gay sport when we're doing that...just my opinion though...People can take it for what its worth

I would say one of the better matches of the tourny would have to be in a match that didn't mean much placing wise. I think one of the best matches of the day was Weakly vs. Chinetti from Northwest. The match could have gone either way from start to finish, and it was very suprising to see Chinetti come out on top. I personally think he should be ranked at 171 after that, especially now that he beat Weakly and Garza from Kenwood. I would say the best match would probably be Coleman and Ortiz. I was suprised to see Coleman get beat, it was good wrestling all day long.

You know, anyone can come up with reasons why wrestling isn't as popular as other sports, i'm not even going to try to explain why its not. All i know is, when i get on the mat, its the best feeling in the world. I love knowing that its me out there competing against another person, and its up to me to win. I like knowing that i can't put the blame on someone else if i lose, or someone else can't put the blame on me if they lose. Wrestling is a sport where you have to take ownership for your actions, and stop blaming other people. Everyone on this post is arguing why they think wrestling isn't as popular...you're just arguing against fellow wrestlers or fans. Every person can have their own beleifs of why wrestling isn't as popular as football...but to me its the best sport, and thats really all i need to know. No one is going to convince me otherwise, and if it never becomes the most popular sport, thats fine, as long as the people who do enjoy it, and do participate, have heart and go all the way.

clarksville always comes up with a strong team no matter what, but i really do think kenwood will come out this year as region champs. clarksville lost something like 10 seniors last year, and that is hard to recover from, even for them. i think it will be close, but kenwood will most likely come out on top. rossview has a stronger team also, but i don't think they'll be close to beating kenwood.

Who do you have wrestling at 160 this year? is Jordan Terry going to be there, or is there going to be someone else?

I think Sanders should be ranked above Gordy. At the Dickson tourny Sanders pinned Gordy. Both are outstanding wrestlers, but i personally beleive that Sanders should be ranked higher than that.
