A. I WAS at the game for the entire 4 quarters!
B. Oak Ridge was by far the dominant team.
C. Clinton not only was not as good, but did a poor job of blocking and tackling.
Having posted this, I will say this and be done with it. Let's move on to other games and put this game behind us on both sides.
1. I know that at least one Clinton staff member was highly upset when OR went on back to back fade patterns from roughly 40 yards outside against a 5'7" sophomore cornerback. The score at the time was 58-0. I guess if the first one didn't suceed, why not come back with it?
2. I thought that it was inappropriate and unsportsmanlike to announce over the PA immediately after OR scores their 74th point that OAK RIDGE HAS JUST BROKEN THE SCHOOL RECORD FOR MOST POINTS IN A SINGLE GAME. That is something that David Clary has every right and responsibilty to do on broadcast radio, or the PA in the postgame wrapup, but while the game is still going on?? I don't know that any thought was given to the timing of the PA announcement. The series between OR and Clinton is combative and tense at best. Both teams and schools need to move on, put this game behind them and hope that there are not future hard feelings as a result of this game.
As for me, I'm done with it-- Maryville is a big enough challenge to keep me occupied. Good luck to both teams for the remainder of the season!
