I actually think that Stevens should go now before his coaching becomes even more tainted. Another bad year and his name will be ruined as a head coach and Campbell County wouldn't even touch him. I will be getting the list of addresses of the school board members soon so we can start the campaign rolling to oust him and all of them if need be. I don't agree with the Catpack of a few years back but are they alive anymore and what pressure can we start to free Oak Ridge of this man?

Anybody but Steven's. The kids will tell anybody that asks them that they don't believe in him. The way to deal with this is to remove the school board come election time. As for Gray, anybody but Stevens. I think Stevens would make a great assistant for him. He isn't ready for a head coaching position at a major school.

It's not about this years record but about next years and the next. He is coaching Oak Ridge players with an Austin-East style. It won't work. I thought he would do well as a former player at Oak Ridge but he brings nothing to the table but that. He will not last after next year because he will continue to try to put a square peg into a round hole.As much as I hate to admit it, Oak Ridge football is dead now and will be until somebody comes in and fixes the Green/Bailey mess? Who is out there though? Any young coaches that want to rebuild a once proud program? Any suggestions? Oak Ridge football from first to worst in one year.

The money is the only way to show the administration that a change must take place. I say vote out the school board who continues to give Bailey good marks. Stanton needs to understand that Oak Ridge will not put up with him not going to the playoffs. He told the press that this team was better than last years team. He will go down as the worst coach in Oak Ridge history. Last year was a specail team that he couldn't even mess up. Write it down today he will blame the kids for the season like he tells them in practice everyday. The right choice is for him to resign or for the parents and kids to go to Bailey and tell them what's really going on. It's only high school football but what life lessons are our kids learning from him? Quiiters are rewarded? My last post on this subject, now it's time to work on how to get things changed.

The outside people writng on this board believe this is just a rebuilding year for Oak Ridge. This is not the case, next year will be and they will be lucky to win 4 games. You guys have to understand something, he was not chosen to be the head coach here by the community selection committe. He wasn't even in the top three but the lame duck principal vetoed their choice and gave us Stevens. He is in way over his head as the head coach of a big time program. He doesn't have the work ethic for it and his ego won't allow him to see his shortcomings. Last year's team was Bruce Lussier's team. We all knew we would see how he could coach when Spencer Gulmire left and took the load off of him. We all see now. Stanton Steven's is a Ken Green (former Principal) and Tom Bailey(Superentendant) decision. It was a political decision made. He has created a devide between the players with his displine some but over look others policy. He lets players quit and rejoin the team. He is late to practice, doesn't use his personel to their strengths. Cusses like a sailor to the kids and lets them do the same. TNbreakers you are right.. The kids won't play for him. We are stuck with him unles they do the same thing they did with their other bad hire. Last year this poliitcal machine hired a principal that lasted 9 months. Bailey and Stevens need to go and so does the entire school board. I can talk for days on this.. Oak Ridge football is dead. Until he leaves. Oak Ridge tell your school board members that we won't stand for this. Not the losing but the man.

Coach Stevens needs to explain to the kids that have worked all summer long how he can let two of his favorites quit the team, sit in the stands one week and then play the next week.Is this fair? Where was he this morning? He tells the kids that they should be there on Saturday or not play the next week. Should he be suspended for the Ooltewah game?

Superintendent Tom Bailey has made two bad hires at Oak Ridge, last year the principal he hired lasted nine months and he had to let her go for not being able to handle her job. Stanton Stevens has brought the Oak Ridge football program to a new low in discipline. Not only does he let players quit and rejoin the team, This is a fact but today he didn't show up for the Saturday morning workout leaving the players outside just to wonder who was in charge. One penalty after another on the field and week after week players are unable to play because they don't care enough to play for this man. Bailey lets get a professional in this job and not a glorified boys club coach.

As I said. Clinton will not win another game this season and as I have said in another thread. I believe it's time that the Clinton faithful see that good guys finish last and so will they. Clinton's day in the sun was so long ago that nobody in the County can remember anything but bad football, poor coaching and apathy by their fans. I feel sorry for the kids but the administration is to blame for this drop-off. There are three other schools in Anderson County that are loving every minute of it.

Defense? Clinton gave up 27 points to a South-Doyle team that had only scored 7 points in their previous 3 games. If Clinton can't beat Halls, then they will go 1-9 again and the Buzz Peterson of Anderson County better get his resume out. If they win, then maybe he will have a shot at two in a row for a first time since he left OR. I think he better buy some paper for his printer though.

Better but still bad. Time for the series to end and let both teams move on. The JV game was a 39-0 beating of Clinton and the Dragons lost the freshman game 41-18. The future isn't bright. Clinton should schedule another Campbell County to get a win while Oak Ridge should play another 5A school to get them ready for the good teams on the schedule.

Dream on. Oak Ridge played terrible and still won by 26 points. Tonight the Oak Ridge beat the Clinton Freshman 41-18 and the Clinton JV 39-0. Same old story for years to come. I don't think the future looks to bright after tonights games. Shattuck ran the clock in the JV after Oak Ridge started pounding them.. Sorry to say.. Your dream is just that.

I heard that the Owls had some players out and had one tossed at Farragut. I guess all teams have injurys right now but the ejection sounds like something else. What seems to be the problem down there? Frustration? Who is out for the game?

Ole Dad, if you read some of the earlier posts. I said because of the new region structure put in place by the TSSAA, Oak Ridge had to go to a schedule where they are traveling greater distances just to play region games. To spell it out clearly for you. Oak Ridge can't afford to play the teams it might like to. Do you think Oak Ridge likes the region the TSSAA set up for us to play? THE TSSAA made this call.. Maybe you understand my point now. Okay as for the two year series with these teams I brought up. I should have said they liked playing the Gallatins, Hendersonvilles and Oaklands. I should have said they always played teams outside the area like the... like I said before. you read things way to serioulsy and can't read betwen the lines. I don't think they are ducking Oak Ridge. I think they should play 5 A ball. Where did I say that?

One more thing. You know this as a Farragut fan, with our region being so spread out it doesn't make for any natural rival games. Of course with football being the main money maker, programs need to have a game or two where they don't have to travel so far away from home. When the region games are 100 miles away then its not the best thing in the world to go to Ohio for other games. Oak Ridge always played Gallatin, Oakland, Hendersonville before this region came into being. But that went out with the TSSAA. Sevier County was a regular too until they dropped OR this spring. Oh well, I guess you play who you play.

Well, you don't seem to understand what its like to be at a winning program. NOBODY wants to play you. Oak Ridge and Maryville would love to play outside"their comfort area"Getting a schedule is difficult for teams that win year after year. DB is a non region game for Oak Ridge and we play them every year. Oak Ridge wants to play the best but nobody wants to play them.
