  1. Well Tyreke Key did his part against Marion Co. He threw in 46 for his State Bound Dawgs!
  2. Govman, you're probably right. Could be that in football the PA guys think since it is out doors then they have to scream and yell to be heard. When in fact usually the visitors can't make out a word they are saying...just a bunch of yelling and screaming. It always blew me away when the visiting fans would stop by the table and compliment me on the job i did on the mic (even if their team lost). I don't like mono-tone guys and i don't like screamers or "mic-eaters" if you know what i mean. There truly is a THIN line between good and obnoxious. Oh yeah I use to do football too!
  3. I announced for 20+ years before having to give it up due to job relocation. I was always tactful while i was on the mic whether i was at home, announcing a tournament,or even announcing for a district foe at their place for sub-state. In my early years I made the mistake of not being tactful and hurt several people with my comment after a tournament game. I learned my lesson and from then on considered announcing as my "profession" and was nothing but professional no matter who i was announcing for. Don't misunderstand, while i was at our place I WAS the home announcer and wanted to keep my crowd fired up. But still never used it as a radio broadcast play by play guy would. I knew there was a line to not cross. Its a shame everyone didn't see it that way. Games will be more boring for the fans IMO.
  4. Can anyone tell me why the TSSAA has made it a rule this year that PA announcers can no longer say anything during live ball situation? Was informed by several refs last week this was a fact. An example of what can't happen since this rule went into effect: John Doe has break away layup and clock would still be running after shot. PA can no longer state that the basket was scored by John Doe, no matter if it was a layup, 3pt, or reverse slam. This has taken the "home announcer"out of the game. wish i knew what the "real" reason for this decision was? I would be interested in hearing from everyone on this especially announcers and coaches.
  5. Congrats to Coach Joe Sims and the 2012 Clay County Lady Bulldogs! No one can deny and you left no doubt....YOU ARE THE #1 CLASS A TEAM IN TENNESSEE THIS YEAR! Everyone is so proud of you and that "never die" spirit you have had throughout this great ride to GOLD! On this night the starting five Lady Dawgs were a well-oiled machine that couldn't be stopped! Way to go SYD, ALLIE, COOP, MATTIE and MACKENZIE !!!! WHAT A WAY FOR YOU 4 SENIORS TO END YOUR HIGH SCHOOL CAREERS! 2012 Tennessee Class A State Champions Clay County Lady Bulldogs
  6. Sure has been awhile since I've been on here! The new job kept me off the mike for my DAWGS. Congrats Lady Dawgs on a spectacular season! BUT there is more work to do! The prophecy is complete! Back when D.R. starting working these girls tails off many people said this group (minus a couple that aren't players anymore) would be playing for a state championship when they were Seniors. Oh by the way they were about 10 yr old at that time! BUT IT WAS TRUE! History Lesson: The scene is Murphy Center in Murfreesboro on a Saturday evening. Two teams had battled all so-called unstoppable teams to fight their way to the Championship game! Plus they had 4 previous battles amongst themselves in the regular season and District and Region Finals. The same team never faltered each of the 4 previous times these two met each other. The teams the towns the players and the two successful state tourney experienced coaches were ready as well. The 5th time (and as the winning coach said "most important) however had a new winner and STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! No the teams are not Clay County and Jackson County.......THEY WERE RICKMAN and CLARKRANGE...I believe Lamar Rogers' 1st GOLD Ball! Here's hoping history repeats itself!......GO LADY DAWGS!!!!!!!
  7. Brackets are backwards! Traveling district (8A this year) always plays early game. Gordonsville vs Friendship will be Game #1 at 6:00 Clay County vs Red Boiling Springs will be Game #2 immediately following!
  8. Clay County vs Friendship Christian on radio live WKYR 107.9 FM
  9. Congrats Clarkrange Lady Buffs! You Are The PRIDE Of District 7A! NOW....EVERYONE BELIEVES ITS TRUE!!!! As the dust settles from one of the worst STAMPEDES the state has seen....... LAMAR and his LADY BUFFALOES carry their 8th Gold Ball back to the friendly confines of the plateau!!!
  10. Congrats Lady Cats! You are doing the Upper Cumberland proud! Could be another 7A- 7AA Gold Ball year!
  11. devils08 quote "Clarkrange by 20!!!! GO GET EM LADY BUFFS" AT LEAST! If MAM only has one player as a threat, and no reason for Lamar to let up, this one could get REAL ugly... PLUS THIS ONE IS ON TV!
  12. TSSAA has audio feed. Why can't you listen on computer?
  13. Same ole story.....The Lady Buffs by 20+ /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Congrats Lady Buffs!...Continue to make 7A proud! Now there are more believers! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> 39 ball games left on the wall....39 ball games left.....take 37 down and then look around... ONLY 2 MORE BALL GAMES LEFT ON THE WALL! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> IT'S A STAMPEDE!!! /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />
  15. Well BigDaddy sad to say District 7A didn't fair to well against the Chattanooga boys tonight. Clarkrange got their eyes plucked out by the Grace Eagles 74-44 and my DAWGS came up short in the Dawg House as well 64-50. Great to hear HOGEYE took care of business in their match-up. Looks like the Wildcat faithful will be occupying the 'BORO for the next couple of weeks! Wishing the CATS and all the Overton County fans good luck in both tourneys! Heck...Bring back 2 GOLD BALLS! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. First off Temple has a very quick and athletic team. My hat is off to the Crusaders. You came into a VERY LOUD and HOSTILE (not really) gym and took care of business. When the Dawgs tied it at 42 I thought it would come down to wild finish like last time. The Red and White never seemed to get too rattled. After that bright spot, I looked up and we were down 60-45 and time running out. Clay County never could make that 1 final run they needed to get back in it. The Dawgs did hold Jeremy Sexton to 9 points but the Crusaders are much more than a 1 man team. I heard Andrews didn't have a very good Reg 3 Final but he came in and lit us up for 19 tonight. I am not about to point fingers after a loss but can say the consensus agreed that too many TEAM turnovers did the Dawgs in tonight. It was a very physical game and both teams never backed down! NO 30 point blow-out. But Temple did win and deservingly so. GOOD LUCK IN THE 'BORO But like I said before NO EXCUSES..WE JUST LOST. To the Bulldog fans you did your part. The Dawg House was LOUDER than ever...GREAT JOB! To the 5 Seniors: Nolan, Scott, Nathan, Tyler, and Steve this year has been a memorable one and I have enjoyed calling your games and just hope my effort in some way helped your performance while you wore the BLACK & GOLD. You guys will be missed. SWAT...I hope being a DAWG this year was a blast for you. Good Luck to you all in whatever you do! Alright Bird, the ball is in your court now. Take it and make a run at the GOLD! Great meeting you hope you guys were treated well and you enjoyed your brief stay in our county! Should be an exciting 09-10 season for the Dawgs and Lady Dawgs as well...SEE YOU NEXT YEAR! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. I understand about the food. I always eat at halftime. Too busy getting ready for the game, music, lineups, announcements to worry about eating! This will be the last time on this thread till after one of our teams has done what we said they would do! Drop by and say hi! Have a safe trip, my friend, and see you at the DAWG HOUSE! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  18. I personally don't believe there is a Single A team in existance this year that can derail the Buffalo Train. Your team (insert name here) may think and possibly can play with and beat most any other team, but I have seen these girls make REAL GOOD teams look like Jr. High teams at best. Unless Lamar just wants to rest the starters during any three of the remaining games, we could see scoring records broken this week as the Lady Buffs play 3 more for the GOLD! That's not SMACK people that is just the FACTS! Pick one player to stop on that team and the other 4 will kill you! But when all is said and done, I would like to see an ALL DISTRICT 7A Final! THE TRUTH HURTS........THE OTHER 7 TEAMS IN THE TOURNAMENT THAT IS!
  19. Hey Bird, this has been fun this weekend. All kidding aside. I am VERY serious about the Bar-b-que. I will show my hospitality to you and get you a plate with two sides that will be waiting for you at my score table. All I need to know do you prefer Sliced Shoulder or Shredded Pork and how HOT do you want it? Oh yeah will baked beans and coleslaw be fine for sides? You will have to answer one question that only you will know the answer to. (SO NO ONE ELSE GETS THE FOOD!) ORDER UP! P.S. It's PIG instead of DAWG! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  20. OK 423 help me out here. I might be from the country (which I love by the way) but some of your comments have really confused my simple brain. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> #1. You actually think our team will lose by 30 points in our own house? #2. Buy is "to purchase". By is "result of". #3. It's Murfreesboro instead of Murpheessboro. #4. A dogsled is normally pulled by dogs. #5. I don't know how a trunk could pull anything. Since there a no elephants in Clay County, we use trunks for storage. #6. I haven't seen square dancing in this area since it was taught in my P.E class in elementary school. #7. How much are they charging you for that Private ED-U-MI-CATION you are getting? I think you should ask for a refund! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Hey Bigbird, Temple's students know more than this one from Grace does don't they? /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
  21. OK Bird, You got me! That was funny and it did get a chuckle! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
