This is the worst Maryville QB play I've seen.

That is awesome! If he accepts this offer, does anyone know if he will be the first football player from Blount County to play at Army? I know Jeremy Stache from Alcoa played baseball there in recent years.

I was disappointed in the girls last Friday against Heritage. They seemed to be taking out their frustrations from a long season. They were more concerned about playing physical than trying to win the game. One Heritage girl was taken to the hospital after an intentional flagrant foul. I think Heritage pulled their starters before halftime and didn't play them in the 2nd half to keep more from getting injured. Hopefully, the future will be brighter, because things are pretty bleak right now.

WB lost to Farragut 73-14 last night. The paper said they only had 2 field goals all night, both in the 4th quarter. Did anyone go this game? How could it have been so bad?

After going to games the last couple of weeks, I think Blount County has some of the best PA announcers in East TN. Gary "GovMan" Stinnett does a great job with both football and basketball at WB. Also, I went to Heritage last week, and Dan Talbott does a good job there as well. The guy at Maryville is pretty good also, although he sometimes seems too proper. Any thoughts from others who have heard these guys? They make the games more entertaining for me.

I went to the game tonight, and I think Heritage won by about 40. It was never a ballgame. Their experience against our youth really showed; they have a very good team.

WB lost last night to a Class AA Alcoa team missing 2 starters due to injury and only dressing 8 players.

With last night's loss, WB has now been outscored 730-455 on the season, with their only win coming against a winless South-Doyle team. I now know why people are telling me I should send my daughter to Heritage if I want her to play for a winner. They seem to always have a good team, whether they have a superstar or not. I just wish WB could somehow get their program turned around like the football team has done. GovMan - where are you to help me feel better about the program after reading the criticism on this thread.

It appears WB girls bb has hit rock bottom losing to a Class A Greenback team with a losing record. I hope the young talented girls don't develop losing attitudes that will be hard to overcome as they get older. Learning how and expecting to win can be difficult.

I think the Pratt kid that punted was all state last year. Also, I'm not sure how good of an X&O coach Mac was, but he always seemed classy and had the respect of his players.

WB always seems to win at the middle school level but rarely does well at the high school level. How many girls do they have in their program this year? Last year, I think they struggled to have enough for a freshman and jv schedule.

I think Maryville has the most talented team as evidenced by their massacre of South-Doyle last week. I was surprised Heritage beat them earlier this season, so I guess Heritage will once again be in the mix for the title. This district could be wide open if either of these teams falter, as the other teams also have talent.

Booker T. Washington at Alcoa, a matchup of top 10 AA teams, is Thursday night also.

According to this morning's paper, Heritage defeated Knox Central 67-37.

Hopefully, next week's election will change the county school board. It seems to be that those talbott and treadway guys are the only ones with any sense. I hear WB picked up a recruit from jeff co. but the nick boy quit. Anyone else heard these rumors?

Why was the Heritage vs. Maryville girls game not broadcast on Tuesday? WKZX missed an opportunity for a lot of listeners because people did not get off work in time to come or other reasons. I've heard several people express disappointment in that decision.

Cait is featured on the "Faces in the Crowd" page of this week's Sports Illustrated issue. Seems she's getting some well deserved national recognition. This after being named one of the top 4 freshmen in the country by USA Today last year.
