  1. Perry Schrandt was an Assistant Coach for several years at GP nad is now Principle at PF. I would hope to think that he would not get involved with coaching the team as he knows what Lee is capable of doing, I would say that is why he hired him. Lee will be fine and he is great with kids so look for a big inprovement from PF this years ans watch out a few years down the road.
  2. Great choice for PF. Lee is a good coach and a great guy that really relates to kids well. Hard worker that just wanted a shot. Interviewed at Jeff Co but unfortunately didn't get the opportunity. Best wishes to Lee and the Tigers should be interesting in Sevier Co on Friday nights. When does PF play GP and where?
  3. Zach is playing Summer Baseball but I'm sure if it wokrs into his schedule he would participate. Nick is definately not playing football this year his ticket to ride is with baseball and that is what he concentrating on now. Stepp is a questions mark but I have heard it is unlikely that he will be playing.
  4. Chip Watkins will be head Freshman coach but varsity coaches will also participate in practices. Justin hopes to have Freshman participate in part of Varsity practices and then break out in groups. Good core group of Seniors and Juniors will take a lot of pressure off the Sophmores having to see playing time at the Varsity level. Should be a good game schedule for Fresh and JV to get plenty of game time experience, that's the plan anyway. Sideline Club met and updated the Sideline Club building in endzone in preperation of a big season and hopefully to get new members excited about joining. Next meeting June 25 at 6:00 pm everyone is welcome.
  5. Base pay I think was a huge factor in bringing anyone in for the job regardless if they were old Patriots or someone else coming in. Then trying to get qualified assistance from outside to come for the same reason will be hard to do. I think what you saw last night at CN is the coaching staff we will have for the year with maybe 1 addition. The Sideline Club did offer to put up some money to help make the pay more attractive. While we don't have much we were willing to do what it takes to raise. The Scrimmage went well for a group of kids that have only practiced 3 times leading up to it and with baseball players just now getting in the mix. Very deep at RB & LB positions and OL needs help but that will come along. Defense played good giving up just 1 big play on a pass and a couple of long runs. Over 80 kids on the sidelines looked good.
  6. King, We are already on that. We are planning on having the smokers going well before kickoff. We are planning to tailgate at every home game. We hope the smell from the smokers fill Dumplin Valley and folks come in droves to eat BBQ. All the money collect at these tailgates go diectly back into the football program.
  7. DZ picture looks great thanks for doing that for me. Update on the tournament we have 28 hole sposors and at least 15 teams signed up so far. Sounds like we may get a coach by weekend which I think will be best versus announcing later next week as planned. Kids need to know and that way hopefully if it is someone other than Gut he can get involved with practices and meet with players and parents at the meeting on the 15th. Been a while since I hav been on here mainly I did'nt want to be involved from past threads but I think everyone on this thread is eager to get behind this team and coach whomever it might be and put the Patriots back to where the belong in the football world. I don't expect that to happen overnight but I look forward to what could be shaping up as a good year and a step in the right direction. Anyone wanting to get involved with the Sideline Club and help the team in encouraged to do so.We have already bought the team a state of the art video system and equipment bags. We have big plans for the year. Our next meeting in May 21 at 6:00. See everyone at the scrimmage at CN.
  8. WaCo I don't think there's been a decent quote since you brought this up on page 1. I think it is the best quote and issue you have brought up in long time. I feel DB's pain being from Jeff and not even making the playoffs. Wish we could get there so we had a reason to speak about playoff issues. No reason you all should not have made it past the first round with the ground game you had. Regular season scheduling may have something to do with post season preperations but lack of sticking with what got you to the dance has more to do with a game plan versus who you play in the regular season. Unfortunately our conferance has been down the last couple of seasons with the exception of DB, Sevier and Bearden this year and you can't do anything about schedulng within your conference. I'm sure DB will still sit atop the conference next year but I get the feeling the fans will be leary of State Championship talk during the regular season as they did this year. That had to leave a very bitter taste in the mouth.
  9. I just don't see anyone getting in OR's way till the Semi's when they meet Riverdale. OR just has too much fire power on both sides of the ball to be denied. I enjoy watching a good team play even if it is at the expense of my own team, Patriots. I was looking forward to watching Spencer play and he played as expected, great player!! Good luck and stay healthy!
  10. Hey Gals bovious you don't know what you're talking about based on your post and by the # of your post you only want to talk smack and bring nothing meaningful or informative to CoachT. As Pride pointed out already the game is in JC. As far as the officials go I thought I'd let you know that all the officials on the field the other night were from Greenville and Johnson City. Region 1 Officials range from Jefferson County to the state line and they are assigned out of the Region Office in Johnson City, so get over the "homecooking". I was very impressed with OR and I don't see anyone giving them any trouble till the Semi's with Riverdale. Enjoyed watching Spencer even if it was at the hands of my Patriots. I see the Patriots getting back on the Winning side of things this week against Karns. Played without the costly penalties and not nearly as many mistakes this past week as we did against DB. Still need to mix up the play calling a little to keep 9 out of the box and the D needs to make some big stops up front. Boys should be fired up since it's Homecoming, hope to see a big crowd out!!
  11. Having played K. West in a pre-season scrimmage and M. West in the regular season I have to go with M. West. The Rebels are a very fast team but the Trojans are just too big up front and the running backs will just be so big that they will physically wear the Rebels down. I don't see anyone getting in the Trojans way till playoffs.
  12. Please stick to your word on this!!!!! It's the best thing you have posted in a while. It proves no benefit whatsoever to rehash things. We have 6 more games to play and we can hope for the best for those 6 games. I feel like I'm in the silent majority that still believes we can win a few more games and make the playoffs. Seems like everyone in our Region is knocking each other off week after week and if that trend continues we're still in it. Friday's game against OR will definately be a difficult one to pull off but I think by playing the caliber of teams we have played the first half of the season, MW,DB,& OR will only make us better for the next 5.
  13. John is now the Assistant Principle so now has to work the games from an Administrative standpoint, that's why he is not PA the games anymore. Thought you had something to work an angle on didn't you patfan? Just another uninformed so called fan wanting to get something started other than the good things in Dumplin Valley.
  14. What a game and it is a shame that someone had to loose. Very impressed with Ramsey and wish you well young man the rest of the year. For anyone in attendance Friday night and especially if you went on the filed after the game to the group huddle you should have NO doubt as to how tight the group of players are to each other AND their Coaches. True we may not have the best talent level but there is more Heart on that team than I have seen in a while. These kids are doing whatever it takes and I applaud that. Great job Patriots!!!!
  15. Score will be as bad as West wants it to be!!
  16. Scrimmage was held at Tennessee Tech during Spring Practice!
  17. You list a bunch of kids here so break them down. * Wolfe quit after Jamboree in 04. Didn't play a down last year. * Soloman played sparing last year just got tried of playing. * Heath was running 2 string this year at best. * Hodge went to a basketball game instead of Oakland scrimmage without telling coaches what's that about. * Harris hasn't played ball since Rush Strong. * Chad quit he wasn't run off. * Dallas conflict with coach about baseball. * Russell who knows. I know for a fact he left practices early and had an attendance problem. * Shivy Principle wouldn't change grade. How much experience is in the kids from 04 to 05? Chad, Shivy and Dallas are the only starters lost and it would of been good if they came back sure. Could these players of contributed, sure they could but how many times do you want to bring up names. You make it sound as if these were the greatest players on earth. No doubt Shivy was good and these other kids are good kids but they made a choice just like 38 have made a choice to stay. Did the 38 have a different set of rules to go by, no I don't think so. I wish them all the best. As far as telling the BB to worry about who lines up across from them believe me they know who lines up and will be ready every Friday. But you keep wanting to harp on the team expect and it to come your way as well.
  18. Don't know what you were watching Friday night JC but holes were there. I'm not throwing off on McFall because I thought he did a fine job especially being a Freshman and I only look for him to get better. But you have to be patient and hit the hole created and not try to make something happen. As McFall realized this is not Middle school ball anymore and you can't break things to the outside and get away from people. Be patient and stick with your lineman and then explode through the hole created. QB was rushed some but also passed up wide open receivers allowing DB's to come and break up passes thrown too late. First game and I expect things to get better. You have been down on the o-line since forever. I know 2 lineman that would like to find out who you are and line up on them!!!!!! BASH BROTHERS!! Take the visors off and suit up big boy!
  19. Here's your correction! The extra point you are talking about was against Karns, we played CC the 2nd game and beart them easily. You are correc that this is a very inportant game for both teams as it is the 1st Region game of the season for both and no one wants to start behind the 8 ball. I look for the Dumplin Valley boys to come away with a V. For someone that calling for a coaches job it seems you don't get to a lot of games to have basis for your discontent of a staff!!!
  20. First of all congrats to both teams on a well played and clean game. I wish the Trojans well the rest of the year. I don't think we will face a bigger team all year. I don't think West will have a blemish on their record into the playoffs. Not just because they beat us but if they click on all cylinders like they did Friday it's a no brainer. Secondly I was proud of out Patriots even in defeat. Honestly no one gave them a prayer of winning and while I don't think there is any such thing as a good loss I left the game with a good feeling and higher expectations for the remainder of the year. Not everything is roses but everyone was so worried about the offense and I thought they responded well and the playbook is wide open. I don't see anything wrong with the 2 QB system until one of them starts separating from the other. The defense is in for a long practice this week I'm sure but to I thinkn the size of West line and backs had a lot to do with their success as well. Extra points: The second onside kick was a mistaken signal made by the kicking team. With David's leg I say kick it deep every time and then throw in an on side every once in a while. Both teams played a very clean game regardless of how bad some fans wanted to throw in old bad blood. As for the team running out during the national anthem, that was purely a mistake on the coach that was suppose to tell the team to release to the sideline. These boys would NEVER disrespect our country and for what the Anthem represents. Coach U addressed it with him when he got to the sideline and he felt horrible I witnessed it right in front of me as well as speaking to that coach after the game. Once the players realized what was going on they stopped and removed their helmets. Again no disrespect just a mistake, remember they are 15-17 year old kids playing thier first game of the year against a big rival and emotions are high and they just went when they were told to. It's unfortunate it happend I hated it for them because I knew they would be blamed for poor sportsmanship. Looking forward to next week against Campbell County except for the drive!!
  21. JC4Life let6 it go man!!! You started a football thread so stick with the thread not something that happened a couple of years ago. Quit talking about the Jungle, Farris, Tito, Michael, Janet, Latoya etc. and talk about the game on Friday night with the 2006 teams.
  22. Good to see a post from an opposing player that doesn't feel they have to talk smack to his opponents. Saw you play at the Jamboree and your a beast. Hope you get the opportunity to show you game at the next level. True we have a bunch of young players with this being their first Varsity game but I'm sure they will be ready to play. They have heard so much negativity without playing the first game they feel they have something to prove. There won't be any quit in them regardless of how the game goes. As far as the bench clearing that happened 2 years ago with all those involved now graduated why would anyone continue to bring that up? You show class 50 by saying you won't let it happen! I guess Williams is fired up about playing his old team?
  23. Scrimmage with Farragut will be at 7:00. The Scrimmage will be game type scrimmage with downs kept and chains with each possession not the typical 10 plays and change over. As of now that is the plans.
  24. I expect big things for Central this year. I enjoyed seeing Central at the scrimmage against Jefferson County. I was very impressed with the balance and depth of the offense and the speed at defense was amazing. Then I find out that a lot of your players are underclassmen. Looks like Central has a few good years ahead of them. Maryville could be in trouble this year. Good luck with this season!
