  1. I agree with Bill at TE, he's a natural at that position and has been ever since he stared playing ball way bach in little league. Has good hands for a big man and speed as well, not to mention his blocking. Platooning has looked good but how many passes have we lost due to not having a TE to throw to. Stanley will make a differance with his hands so I look for more passes to the TE in upcoming games.
  2. Glad to see Erik get the opportunity to be a HC coach somewhere, I just didn't want it to be at JC. I know Erik and his family and I wish him nothing but the best. Tough year at SD and can get nothing but better. I can't believe he left McMinn except to be closer to home because his wife sure wasn't moving.
  3. Every time the subject of WB comes up everyone says "look at the schedule they played". I'm sick of hearing it! True it's played out to be the toughest in the state but I don't think the schedule changed after the season started. I think Meadows knew who he had to play when he chose to go to WB. Everyone at WB knew their schedule before the season played out, yet in the pre-season we all heard how good they were going to be. Drilling everyone they scrimmaged in the pre-season, but as soon as the 0-fer started it's the schedule. Sorry that doesn't work. You should win the last 3 games but I don't think that shows signs of improvement just lack of competition. Meadows and A.J. was the greener elsewhere, look at the back of your pants and you can tell! Not sorry their gone just hate the way they left everyone hanging but we are doing alright for ourselves.
  4. I heard that Chad Williams missed practice and that Billy Luther will be taking his plance Fiday night. Not sure if it is for the whole game or for a couple of series. Chad has the potential and size to be dominating but he can't rely on his size to get him there alone he has to use his head and he's not.
  5. While it is true the O-Line may not be the strongest part of the team and Chris makes yards on sheer talent, please keep in mind these kids were thrown together 5 weeks ago for the first time. Not using that as an excuse but it's a fact and you can't expect them to be clicking on all cylinders in short time and as posted earlier it's hard to picked up everyone when the D is bringing the house even when we are in passing situations. I think they are doing well but did have problems against Karns but so did the D. They should continue to improve over the next 4 weeks and in time for the the playoffs. Hopefully we will develope more of a passing game in the next couple of weeks to make the opposing D pull back some. I think getting Stanley in at TE will help although we are not talking about deep routes but even short routes will eventually open up deepert routes for Acuff and Crouch. Something that I did see last week during and after the game was bickering between the players themselves. That doesn't fit this team well and I hope we don't see that again. As it has been said many times before this team is full of players who have a lot of heart, unity and desire to win. Players taking it upon themselves to call out other players proves no benefit. Some may call it leadership but leading is not what I saw oir heard. Comment heard "I'm only 1 man I can do the job for all of you", and before assumptions are made it was not a RB talking. Good luck Friday night in Dumplin Valley!!!!
