If I'm not mistaken, this award is chosen by media (newspaper) and depends on the publicity a player gets. A lot of small town's don't have media so these players have no chance. I've noticed a couple of the finalist ( and yes they are good ) got their picture in the papers and a huge write up EVERY game they played no matter what anyone else on their team did. Not many players have this same opportunity. so, it does seem unfair. and by the way ... Newman and Fuller are Juniors but so is Hall and Beechboard so that doesn't have anything to do with it. Take Amber Benjamin for example .... the Manchester paper is a small weekly production. Who else covers Manchester. Murfreesboro & Nashville have all the big publicity in Middle TN.

Things can change. I'm sorry if people did that here but these boys aren't the boys you use to play against. Give them a chance. We're not all bad and this isn't the only place it happens either. It shouldn't happen at all--- anywhere. These are good guys.

To all Cannon Co. and York players: Keep your heads up and play with respect. The two best teams are at the top. To Cannon players: All these complaints are in years past. Be the bigger men and let it go!!!!!!!! Bring home that CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!

Mullens is NOT on the team this year so stop judging the rest of the team for years past. Teamwork beat Gurley or he wouldn't have been on the bench in foul trouble. Excuses is all you got. If we have to loose at least its to York (they do have class among their players) but the game hasn't been played yet. Never underestimate the power of a LION!!!!!!! (or it crowd)

If I recall correctly, Ashley Nichols scored 18 pts in that same game and also had 9 assist and 3 steals. That should put her right up at the top of that list with Hall.
