  1. I am from a neighboring county and watched McKenzie play last year. The qb is just a junior this year and nearly threw for 3000 yards last year, impressive for this area. The game I watched they lost by 2 points, but scored 3 td's in 7 minutes, all in the air. Should be fun watching them this year. Someone said the qb will sign a division 1 baseball scholarship to pitch though..who knows? Also, they have a right tackle that is like in the top 10 recruits in the state.
  2. From the North West side of the state over here, I and several of my friends think that Temple has an excellent bball program and will continue to for the next few years. To get to the last 4 in the tournament and for someone to say that you are overrated, well they are an absolute idiot if they really think that. It was anybody's game this year..fun isnt it?
  3. jek, i was speaking from my readings and the teachings of the King James version of the bible. i overlooked that there are other forms of religious literature to which this school may apply. i have never recognized the term evolution in the KJ versions. BA is not a true 100 % christian based school, but I'm sure attended by many Christians.
  4. Baldcoach, When I originally placed the post I didn't think BA was a christian based school. Even though, apparently it is, we both stand corrected. I appreciate the posters' infomation about brentwood. But to be a truly christian oriented school, evolution would not be on the class selection list. Thanks for your info though.
  5. What is sad is we are losing 3 seniors this year, only 1 scorer..the elder Blackburn and we won't even be ranked next year. We return Shane, Smith, Little Blackburn and a slew of others. We kind of like not being ranked, it gives us a little incentive to play harder.
  6. I edited this post, because I was misinformed about recruiting violations of some middle Tennessee schools and congrats to the Supreme Court for vindicating some of these schools. If a court vindicates you then you must be innocent....O.J. was framed..lol
  7. OK..I JUST PUT THIS ON HERE TO GET A RESPONSE..I COULD ACTUALLY CARE LESS IF A SCHOOL RECRUITS OR NOT, I JUST THINK IT IS FUNNY THAT ONLY PRIVATE SCHOOL SUPPORTERS HAVE GENERALLY RESPONDED. IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER IF YOU DO OR NOT, I THINK WE ALL WOULD IF WE COULD. THIS WAS A GOOD TOURNAMENT WITH SOME MAJOR UPSETS--BUT THE DEBATE WE GO ON...THANKS FOR ALL THE KIND COMMENTS IN HERE, SAYS ALOT ABOUT YOU. HAVE A NICE DAY
  8. yeah..lets blame the refs..lol..sounds familiar..
  9. youshouldstay, actually no I do not. I think CPA has a really good ball team, but not yesterday, Grace was actually better. via a tip-in or not. Looking at CPA's schedule and all of the media hype about them, some of the "posters" actually took it to heart and bashed several teams on here. If you have taken offense to my posts, I sincerely apologize, we are all die hard fans but you need to peruse back through the topics and look at all of the threads and some of the comments made about the other 7 teams in this tounament. I'm sure they will stop after yesterdays' results, but all in all, the entire fan base of all the teams here in the boro was great.
  10. Single A..from the Northwest side... any of the following- Greenfield, Lake County or Peabody... up in the air.. South Fulton, Halls, West Carroll will all be competing as well.. This year on any given day, any of these teams could have beaten any team up at the state tournament this year..this is a hellish region..
  11. Congrats to Grace for their victory against the unstoppable, mighty, CPA basketball team ...lol..I hope some of their fans will issue apologies for their comments on here. Even though Grace beat our team, I do feel somewhat better now that Grace has DEFEATED CPA. good luck in the championship..
  12. What a Shocker!!! All that trash talking in here about CPA proves useless now..congrats to Grace on a good game.
  13. First of all, I am a Greenfield fan as well. The referee's did a good job on officiating the game. Both teams got a few calls here and there that could have went the other way. Brandon Shane is a good young man and a competitor. The bitter disappointment of losing to a team you shouldn't lose to can bring on those type of frustrating emotions. It's tough when you beat yourself out of a possible second round game, but that is why we play the game. I spoke with some of the Grace fans after the game and they were very polite and cordial. Good luck to all in the tournament.
  14. First of all congrats to Grace and CPA. An earlier post referred to Grace's "poor" performance against Greenfield, you should thank Greenfield for letting that game get away. If Grace plays against CPA like they did against us, they'll get beat by 20+. At the start of the game, I thought we were going to pour it on then the wheels fell off and we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I would have liked to see that matchup with G'town versus CPA. It seems like the last few weeks, we have been playing down to the competition and today it bit us in the rear. I would like to say that I thought the fans of Grace were very respectful and polite. Best of luck to the remaining teams!
  15. I was disappointed to read this first post and I am a Greenfield fan. CPA just flat out played their opponent today and would have done the same thing to us as well. Be glad your boys made it to state, it in itself is an accomplishment. We can't win them all. I was also impressed with the fans of all the schools that I observed today. Good TN b-ball.
  16. Who can beat Unaka?...probably the first team that plays them...
  17. Al Gore is from middle tennessee too..what's your point?..lol
  18. I am a loyal Greenfield fan, but I predict that Halls will beat Temple by 8.
  19. Just for the record...the population of Greenfield (not Greenville) is app. 2300 people...just wanted to throw that in..lol

I am pulling for Halls to beat Temple, but here is this years' strength of schedule. To play a couple of teams from AA doesn't mean you ve played a tough schedule. I think that Halls can beat Temple, because of the street style of basketball they play. Temple hasn't seen alot of that this year and they aren't as strong as they were last year. I would like to see another Halls/Greenfield finale, but if Greenfield gets by Grace then we will have to deal with CPA. CPA looks like it is loaded, but we will see. Good luck to all next week, especially the Jackets!!!
  21. Where I am from, the public schools can't "develop" players from other areas without them sitting out for a year. On the other hand, if you put a private school in the area, any student may go whereever to attend, if they can afford the tuition. To say that the private schools do not have an advantage is ludicrous. I am not against the private schools being able to do this, its' just a fact of life, that the ones that have the money, also have the power. I'm not upset with CPA, DCA, JCS, LMS, or anybody else. I think those students are probably getting a better regimented education without the intrusion of government dictating their curricula, in regards to religion, etc.. I think all of the teams going into this tournament are worthy of being there. I don't particularly feel this applies to the girls' side of tournament, as much as it does the boys' side. Good luck to all next week!
  22. A little info on G'field...I believe 10 of their losses were to AA/AAA teams..they played a schedule way above their heads this year. Of the first 11 losses...combined total of 46 or 48 points...losing by app. 4 points per game..with a 150 kids in school..great bball town...I wouldn't want to play us first...but we run a clean program here and we don't recruit ..good luck to all next week!!
  23. I edited this post, because nobody recruits in Tennessee anymore. Congrats to Tennessee high school basketball!!!!!
