How does the third place team in the District get the MVP and two first teamers? Ridiculous. There are obvious omissions from the teams. One being Atnip from Watertown. Another one, and someone explain to me how she didn't make it is Willoughby from Gordonsville. She made it as a junior didn't get anything as a senior? Neilson from Gordonsville had a better year than alot of the girls on the list and got no consideration. Obviously what happened was the coaches got together and said this is how it will break down. Westmoreland finished first, they will get five players on the team. Gordonsville finished second, they get four. Friendship was third, they get three. Watertown gets two. ETC.

I heard she broke it in the second game. Wasn't the second game a JV game anyway? If it was, what was she doing pitching in the first place. Regardless, I hope she is all right and has a full recovery.

Kyle Harville from Gordonsville has been refining his technique for years. Made leaps and bounds in distance and form when he went from sitting inside the dugout to sitting at the opening of the dugout (no chainlink to interfere). His accuracy is amazing also. He is able to put a seed in a teammate's ear from 10 feet without the teammate knowing it is coming. He also gets better performance from Barbecue seeds than from plain seeds.

He wasn't Goolsby's boss until he was moved to the Jr High. It should have been Maynard's responsibility to tell him that he would be moving to the Jr High and not the Jr High Principal's responsibility.

I wonder why Goolsby had to learn he would be coaching the Jr High from the Jr High principal and not from the HS principal/football coach?

Don't bad mouth Bush too much. Smith County wanted him real bad if for nothing else than to coach the softball team next year. As for Goolsby, he was done dirty by the powers that be on the hill and everyone knows it. That's why he left.

Del, I'm behind you 100%. We played Boyd Christian last week. Our leadoff hitter burned the leftfielder on the first pitch of the game for a homerun and every time she came to bat after that the announcer said "This is the leadoff hitter Katey, back up!". The leftfielder adjusted accordingly and cost our girl two sure base hits. During basketball season this announcer would actually keep talking while the visiting team would be shooting free throws. I don't have any doubt that this is just a case of an announcer being an overzealous fan but someone should say something to the administration at Boyd about him. We asked him directly several times last week to tone his act down, to no avail.
