  1. I've learned that no matter how reliable a source of a rumor is regarding the administrative decisions in Smith County, I have to see it to believe it. There have been some times in the past when something seemed set in stone only not to happen for one reason or another. I guess what I should have said was that as far as rumors go, this one seems pretty solid.
  2. The word on the street is that Coach Agee will not be coaching Gordonsville next year. This information comes from some pretty reliable sources. If it is true I hope that the powers that be go through the hiring and interviewing process and get the best available candidate. Does anyone have any names to throw in the hat?
  3. Does anyone have the result of the Gordonsville-Grace Baptist game played on Saturday? Details?
  4. Ezell won by 4. I think the score was 49-45. Very sloppy game by both teams.
  5. I heard the game was moved to Thursday because of the impending weather.
  6. Is she not playing at all or is she playing somewhere else? I hate to see her not play this year because I thought she made some big strides last year and would have been a big contributor this year.
  7. If they beat Lookout Valley in round 1, then they play Trousdale County in round 2.
  8. I wasn't shooting off at the mouth, just pointing out that if you are going to boast of beating Westmoreland and Celina, it should also be noted that they had little or no success against other teams. I have no doubt that RBS will be a very good team this year, but they have to get over the hump against some other teams. They were a Jekyll/Hyde team last year. They would beat Westmoreland then two games later lose to Pickett in the Districts. For them to be successful they will have to translate the succcess against Westmoreland, Friendship, Clay, etc, to wins against Gordonsville, Pickett, and the likes. If they can find the consistency they lacked last year, they will make some noise in the regions this year.
  9. Last year's results: Gordonsville 53- RBS 41 Gordonsville 64- RBS 49 RBS hasn't beaten Gordonsville in at least the last three years. This year may be different, but don't thump your chest too hard regarding last year's team.
  10. That's pretty much the way I see it. Westmoreland is the favorite with Urell, Hustsberry, and the others coming back. Watertown knows this is the year for them to make some noise if they are ever going to. Harris and Atnip are 5th year starters and Sells should be better than last year. They have to prove they can get over the hump and beat Gordonsville to take second place. Last years success in the district tournament should give them some confidence for this year. Gordonsville's seniors have to step up and replace about 25 ppg that they lost. Two big posts have to stay out of foul trouble for them to succeed. Sylvia Thomas may be the best player in the district this year. Depth may be a problem. FCS lost too much with Zimmerman, Hays, and Cook graduating. Someone will have to provide some leadership there and take control of a young team. Merrol Hyde is new to the district, so I really don't know anything about them. TC could surprise some folks but not enough to crack the top four. MJC had a lot of turmoil last year. Don't know that this year will be any better. At least nobody has to go play in the Bronco Barn this year.
  11. Trousdale County was probably a heavy favorite before Justin Smith was injured in an automobile accident last night. Now Gordonsville will be looking to find a replacement that will help them get through the rest of the region schedule. Freshman Chase Malone has been the backup QB all year and has done a good job in mop up time, but TC is the last game you want to throw a freshman into. From what I have heard, Justin should make a full recovery from his injuries. I am praying that he does. Accidents like this really put things in perspective. Between this and seeing Chad at the opening game and at homecoming, football doesn't seem quite as important.
  12. I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that are similar to CoachT that cover high school sports in other states. I would be curious to see them compared to CoachT.
  13. Ask your coach. He knows.
  14. Gordonsville won 7-6 in 8 innings. don't know about fcs and westmoreland.
  15. Does anyone have any predictions for the 8A tournament and the 4A region tournament. Look for Westmoreland, Gordonsville, Friendship, and Vanburen to take on Clarkrange, Clay Co, Monterey, and Red Boiling in the region. Clarkrang, Westmoreland, and Gordonsville are the strongest contenders to advance to substate, with Friendship capable of pulling an upset along the way. Clay Co could get there if they can get their game together in time.
