  1. Croy bumped to 215 and manhandled Jaeckel who is no slouch.
  2. They may be finished, but if you want a challenge get ahold of Brentwood Middle. We played a competitive match with Meigs (and lost), but we couldn't stay on the field with Brentwood.
  3. Dylan Jordan from Clarksville is starting and scoring for Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
  4. Indy had a chance to tie late in the second half when a correctly called (and really dumb) foul was called in the box. Indy missed the PK and sent the rebound high and wide. Congrats H'ville.
  5. Gallatin. They were down 0-2 at half and scored 3 unanswered in the second. Lavergne (easy 3-0) and Mt. Juliet (7-6 PKs) are in the other.
  6. If Mt. Juliet beats Beech and Gallatin beats Hendersonville, H'ville could end up third...or second if either of those happen. It will go down to the last day. That being said I still like Hendersonville and Lavergne to come out of districts. Your the same one who said they wouldn't have any trouble with Mt. Juliet aren't you??
  7. Mt. Juliet 1 Hendersonville 0
  8. Who does Lavergne have left? Who have you played?
  9. Quiet board from this area. Hendersonville seems to be the class again. Whos next Lavergne, Gallatin, Mt Juliet? Can anyone give Hendersonville a run. Looks like they most of the district games got held until the last two weeks. Should be interesting.
  10. Rigger, I appreciate your candor and feel for your pain. I hope someone...ANYONE...learns something from this. I want to tell the young men that most of us have been there, experienced the same temptations, raged against the same machines, touted sex, drugs, and rock and roll. We want you to learn from our mistakes, but at the same time allow you to make your own mistakes and grow from them. I know we look like we are fat, balding middle age guys with no fashion sense. We don't wear saggy pants and our tattoos are limited to upper shoulders. PLEASE LET US HELP. Don't F it up because you are too smart. I want to say those things, but I won't. Rigger, I'm glad you did.
  11. Not sure what I expected to see...but there was no 'girlie stuff' going on. What I witnessed were aggressive athletes using decent technique in an athletic contest. The girls are to be commended as are the coaches who obviously put some time into this.

  13. You are correct. An additional pound is granted each successive day into the tournament. I was referring to the first day. No additional weight can be carried into a post season tournament. If Springfield wrestled Hendersonville Tue and Hendersonville wrestled White House Wed, Region Duals on Thur 103s must make 105 (w/growth allowance, not 107).
  14. It's already happened so this is after the fact, but region duals are post season...and according to TSSAA there is no additional weight granted for post season events.
  15. Springfield beat Beech and Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet beat Lavergne, Hendersonville beat Mt. Juliet and Springfield. Good atmosphere...loud, exciting, good matches.
  16. Did you get a former Iowa State wrestler not previously mentioned in your group of clinicians??
  17. The Fred Rigsby Grand Championships will be held Jan 20 at McGavock. This is the freshman Middle TN regional championship. There is also a middle school team tournament. Many have expressed interest, but have not yet confirmed. Slots are filling up fast. Please make sure your spot is confirmed by contacting P. A. Bowler at bowler94@comcast.net.
  18. East Lit has that potential with middle and high schools on the same campus. Shawn Garrett was encouraged to wrestle at regionals after his 8th grade season was over.
  19. Does anyone know if they are still available and who do I contact to get one??
  20. I want to make another plea, that if you are considering attending the Hall of Fame banquet, and I highly recommend it, that you let P. A. Bowler know today. Contact him via email at: bowler94@comcast.net You can pay at the door, BUT you must make reservations by Tue. A final seating count is required by then to the hotel. There are already 230+ registrations and the room is only so big. One of the highlights of the evening will be the exhibits the inductees display from their careers. Lots of memories, so arrive by 6:00 pm (central) to insure time to view and visit. Coach Delgado is correct in that this induction class may be the largest allowed. Not sure if there is a maximum allowable, but we are at the limit of the recommended (from National) size, with two in the special categories. Hopefully the Chapter can continue the momentum being built over the last two years to continue the banquets and include some of the many deserving candidates. Hope to see you there.
  21. Animal, no apology necessary. You gave me a chance to tell a few others so thank you. Actually, I wasn't aware the site was open to wrestling yet or I would have posted already.
  22. Let's begin with an already announced announcement. Tennessee's Third National Wrestling Hall of Fame Class will be inducted Oct. 28, 2006, at the Cool Springs Marriott. Social and inductee exhibits begin at 6:00 pm and dinner is 7:00 pm. Tickets are $50 each. Reservations should be sent to: P. A. Bowler 109 Mansker Park Dr. Hendersonville, TN 37075 Reservations are strongly recommended as walk ups may not be honored due to the already heavy response and limited seating capacity. In addition to the seven Life Time Contributor inductees mentioned in earlier posts, there are two others being inducted under special categories: Ralph Brewer, wrestler and coach at TN School for the Blind, and Jeff Loyd, one legged state champ from Clarksville, Olympic sled hockey alternate, among several other accomplishments. As far as who was and was not selected, Tennessee is in its infancy in recognizing its wrestling pioneers. All previous and current inductees are no-brainers. Are there others who are deserving...you bet. Will we have most of the deserving individuals inducted soon...not by a long shot. Be patient and give us time. Also, give us some information on individuals, especially if you think they are long enough in the past you think we may have forgotten. I'm not going to get into specifics, but you should know Ronnie Carter started as a wrestling coach at Overton. Like him or not through TSSAA, he has been a huge friend to wrestling, and just rotated off the National Federation Rules Committee. Coach Drennan was not forgotten, but is not believed to have the minimum time required for Life Time consideration. CBG, do you know how long he coached at Ryan? One last thing, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame was set up to recognize contribution to the sport and is for contributions AFTER the competitive career is over.
  23. Hendersonville didn't fare too bad last year either, and has most of theirs back. I wouldn't bet on the Commandos going home after the first round. I think Bearden has an overinflated opinion of how good they are. I'm sure Houston also has a good team, but I look for a rematch from last year, Hendersonville v Brentwood finals, and Hendersonville beating a very very good Houston team first round.
