Thursday, at East Lit Magnet ELM vs MLK, the winner will be region 7 small school dual champs and I think host the sectionals. You guys that keep up with region 7, what do you think about this matchup?

If Nick Burnley rejoins the MLK team, he will be tough at 152. Stratford started late, but I thing Clifford Lett might shake things up at 130. rankings look pretty good, nununu

Does any one have the results? I heard the top four teams were: 1. Chatt. Central 2. East Literature Magnet (Nashville) 3. MLK Magnet (Nashville) 4. Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville) Can anyone confirm this?

Shawn Garrett (East Lit) is going to 135. Kerry Dowell might be going 140. I saw D. Ortiz wrestle at 130 and T. Zarbo wrestle at 135, both looked great.

Region 7 did pretty good this past weekend. Congrads to Glencliff and Antioch for their 3rd & 4th place finish at the Harpeth Inv. Good job to Hume Fogg and MLk at Harpeth. Congrads to Hunters Lane for their 3rd place finish at the Sycamore Tourney. Congrads to East Lit for their 7th place finish at the highly competitive Black Horse Inv. It is early in the season and every team is working to get better, but I must say that this region is stronger this year. Next year will be stronger because just about every team is young. Good job! The McGavock Inv should be interesting.

East Lit defeated TSB 62-15?, East Lit defeated Hume Fogg 58-21, East Lit defeat McGavock 42-36. East Lit only had 2 seniors and 1 junior in the lineup. Hume Fogg was a surprise, I didn't thint they would be close to McGavock. McGavock is rebuilding. They have three very good wrestlers and about 4 or 5 that will get better throughout the season. The biggest upset of the night was McGavock's Beyer Yahya pinning East Lit's Shawn Garrett at 140. Garrett looked good in the 1st period. 2nd period was all Yahya, he took advantage of mistakes and poor conditioning. East Lit coach said Garrett had only practiced 3 day prior to the match, but I have to give credit to Yahya for doing what he had to do to win.

Brassell is a tough kid, but I think you info is not accurate. Brassell was in the same weight class with any of these guys. If you are referring to a off season freestyle tournament, I saw Brassell lose to Konz and Garrett at BA's freestyle tournament, but off season matches should not count when determining in season rankings. I do think Brassell should be considered in the rankings at 135. Kerry Dowell might be at 145 right now but I thinks he is going 140 for region.

When did Brassell wrestle Garrett from East Lit? Brassell wrestled 130 & 135 last year and Garrett wrestled 140 (145 in most duals).

What was the kid name from Overton you wrestled at 140. Since you said everyone wrestled up a weight class, I am assuming that 135 is you target weight class for region.

Yes, I am serious! If Booker is focused and had inproved as much as his coach says, then I think he give Konz a good match. Win or lose, it will help prepare Booker for what he will have face at the state tournament.

The wrestler didn't just lay there. The ref ended the match. He didn't ask the wrestler nor the wrestlers coach if he could or was willing to continue. Since you feel Mr. Booker was wronged, your anger should be first at Booker for the slam and then at the ref for not allowing the wrestler or his coach to decide if they wanted to continue the match. I don't want to debate with you, I am just a spectator. I will say that Booker is the man to beat at 140 or 145, but I would go as far to say that Dowell is No. 2. Booker should not overlook the East Lit Kid or Thomas Holman from McGavock. Does Antioch wrestle Franklin in a dual? I would like to see a matchup between Booker and Ryan Konz.
