i would like to say that a one point in time smith county high school was indeed carthage high school.
the smell that people smell when they go to the old bridge in south carthage is the water treatment plant. if you don't like the smell don't go that way. there are two ways to get to carthage from gordonsville.
where gordonsville ends, to me, is where donoho's muffler shop is. this is where the sign that says "welcome to south carthage" is. this is also about as far as the school bus goes to pick up the kids that go to gordonsville.
it is the tigers, not the kittens/kitties. how would you feel if people went around calling you the birds/birdies?
isn't the first game of the season for both of these teams usually this game? hasn't this been a tradition for, oh, let's say since there have been two high schools in the county with football teams?
the two sides of the river actually get along pretty decently, unless sports are involved. especially football and basketball. i love going to watch these two teams play in any sport that they play against each other. it is good competition for both schools.
just for the record, every year is a different year with a different team than the year before. statistics mean nothing until after the game.
