Has anybody heard where Marco is going to college or if he even is going to go play somewhere? I just figured the talent he has, he could go play at a low level D1 school or a pretty good D2 school. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything?

I saw that Marco Dailey was listed as WR in this game. Is this true? Why WR? I mean I figured he would not play QB, but I thought he would play RB. And will he get some playin time or is this a type of game that only the upper classes players play in? I would like to see how he will do against some of the 3a, 4a, 5a players.

No but I was told before the season started, I was talking to a coach from MTP and I was asking about Marco and he said that he could get into college with his play but was concerned he might not get in b/c of grades. Look I am not trying to start any kind of gossip like most on here. I am going by from what I heard from a coach and what the newspaper had said. And plus once again I didnt start this to talk about the man's grades, I started this to acknowledge this man's ability to play football. I think he is a heck of an athlete and hope that his grades dont set him back when applying for college. That was all I was saying. Excuse me if I have offended anybody. I was just going by what I was told and read in the paper. EXCUSE ME!

Yall took my statement all wrong. Yes i did say that his grades might not get him in, BUT I DID NOT KNOW THAT FOR A FACT, that is just something I read in the paper. I am not in his classes so I have no idea what his grades are. SO please dont say that I had said he wouldnt get in b/c of his grades, I was just sayin that they could be a problem when he applies for college. Anyways I didnt start this thread to talk about his grades, I started to talk about this young man's abilities on the football field. Now when I was reading the paper, it did say that he indicated that NC State was the D1 school that was showing the most interest. I think Marco Dailey is another but Im not for sure on that. I would say he is though

Not quite sure on how many or any real stats. I did read the article in the Daily Herald where he was in at least the top 4 in at least 12 state and individual records.season and career. Some I know-2nd: most career rushing yards behind only Troy Fleming, 1st: most rushing yards by a qb (set that last year),i think but not for sure but no.1 in most tds rushing and passing combined. 2nd i think in most tds in a season. There are plenty others but I just dont remember.This is kid is the real deal. I just wish someone out there would take a chance on him in D1 football despite his size. Now do I think he could go to UT, maybe but doubt it, but like an MTSU or TSU, I think he would be fine!!! Still though not quite sure he could get in there because of the grades, but I dont know that for a fact. SO dont hold me to that. Not sure how he does in school, but if the grades are good enough I think he would be ok.

Congrats to Mr. Dailey as you have become the 1st from Mt.P to be named Mr. Football two years in a row. If you read this young man. You deserve it. You are an exceptional athlete. The best to ever wear a Mt.P uniform I would say. You had an outstanding career. Keep your head held high. Stay focused. And you could do and have what it takes to get the next level. I have read enough of this. I just dont understand some people on here. Yall say yall arent overlooking Mt. Pleasant and how it wont be a game, however ever since this thread has started, it has been straight McKenzie fans saying all of trash talk. For example, someone posted they were hoping for Jo Byrns instead they get MtP and now they are throwing a parade. someone else posted this wont even be a game, others posted 42-7 as the final score. I mean dang should we even show up for this game since yall already know the outcome and will be throwing parades. I understand this is a forum for fans to show their support for their respective teams, but now we are in the Final Four of the Class A State High School Football Tourney. All teams must be good or they would not have made it this far. Now the outcome of the game might end up like yall are saying but Im hoping it doesnt as I represent the good ol faithful of Mt.Pleasant. I just think its ludacris to come on here and just think yall already have yalls spot in the Championship game without playing the game yet. Ok with that being said-I will not predict this outcome. I hope and think it will be good game between good teams. Of course Im hoping MtP will be victorious and earn their spot not just assume it! So Butchie, I am a Mt. Pleasant alum, I went to last weeks game. a great one by the way. I am going this week as well. I have to leave from work though. I get off at 3:30 and Im leaving from Nashville so I will get in McKenzie around 5:30 or so, I might just have to stop at Butchie's myself, you know if Im invited as well??

i think Marco had around 42 carries for 263 yds and 1 td. But Im not for sure! But the player of the game tonight for all you people who say mp is just marco was juju corlew. Marco kept our long drives going but juju played a heck of a game tonight. And thats what we need when we get up in the upper echelon of the playoffs. Somebody to step up besides Marco. Juju put a hit on a kid tonight as hard as Ive seen, made him fumble, then picked up and went about 60 yds to the house. which I thought was the play of the game! It was just a great HS football game and I enjoyed it. Jo Byrns is a class act. no foolin around by either team just some gool ol football! Yeah his cousin, Chuck Dodson, plays for LC so thats where the blood ties are for LC. But he is a true Tiger, born and raise. I graduated with him in 02. So I sure he is a huge MP fan but supports LC b/c of family. Hopefully heck be on our side tonight though rooting for the Tigers.

Geez, if you are going to make some sort of comeback, at least know what you are talking about. And yea the last time we played yall did beat us 61-0. HOWEVER that was 5 years ago. 5 years. I believe that was with a different coach and a totally different football squad. I think youll be suprised how far MTP has come. Still think MTP wins by 3 on last minute FG.

C'mon I know you want to stay faithful to your team but I mean this matchup is going to be great. I would understand if cwood was playing a real game but its just a scrimmage. the 1st team prolly wont even play that much.You should come represent region 6 and root for our Tigers. I do know alot about LC except there line avgs about 300 and I was in school when they beat our you know what every year. Especially the last time we played them in 2002, believe the score was 61-0. So if im Mt.Pleasant and I get a chance to run up the score (dont think it will happen, think it will be too close) I repay the offer and blow em out of the jungle back to the panthers den. However like i said earlier i dont expect that to happen so my prediction for this game: Mt.Pleasant TIGERS- 24 Lewis County PANTHERS-21 Ortega with the game winning FG with about 1:00 to go. MP defense stops the Lewis County drive, goes on to win by 3. Just me having fun trying to predict an unpredictable game. Could go either way but Ill be there rooting for my Tigers and hoping both teams stay injury free.
