  6. We have the middle school results. The novice and advanced will be finished Saturday. Not sure when or where they will be posted, but I'll get them up ASAP, then post a link here.
  7. There are a bunch of people from the Memphis area going, including the Bornemans, us Barnetts, and some coaches. Give us a call and maybe we could arrange something. I am SO looking forward to seeing these guys wrestle at the next level!
  8. Yea, one of them that you love to hate.
  9. Congratulations to all our Region 8 medalists! Y'all looked great! I tried watched every match that you were in & cheered, yelled out your name, and booed (when appropriate). I hope all you wrestlers could hear us from the stands! Thank you for your outstanding performance, wrestlers, and coaches as well. thumb
  10. Father Ryan, Luke 6-5. Exciting match. Me, I'll be watching Luke. thumb
  11. I don't mind going to Chattanooga at all. I think it's a great town and a great venue. I'm looking forward to the trip. Plenty to do during downtime. Cost is the same whether you're going to Nashville or Chattanooga. It's just a couple of hours more. They have the facility there. They have the people to run it. They just need to work on the hospitality room, I hear tell.
  12. Just tryin' to help out. I know what a stickler you are for accuracy.
  13. That was Brandon Annis, Coach. Parker wrestled JV.
  14. Calling me out? Hey I get a kick out of all the creative spelling here. I contribute it to the text messaging and IMing that is so popular today. Speed takes priority over spelling.
  15. When you say things like that it makes me think of something I heard on NPR the other day, when they were discussing a Japanese word that had no real English translation: tatemae [tah-tay-mye] (noun) A term often translated as "form," but it also has the specific cultural meaning of "the reality that everyone professes to be true, even though they may not privately believe it." For privately held views, the Japanese have a different term, honne, meaning, "the reality that you hold inwardly to be true, even though you would never admit it publicly."
  16. Germantown will be at the Briarcrest Duals.
  17. Aww, Jim - does that mean we're not going to see you? You don't want to go way up there- think of all that traffic, and those shoppers with road rage....
  18. Another sister here - in total agreement with you. thumb And I know of several more.
  19. Davenport cut the top of his head somehow, enough to need a couple of stitches I think. Neither I nor anyone I was around really saw what happened. Took a while to find where the blood was coming from. It won't keep him out though. Sorry about that other match. We didn't get the results, or I would have posted them. Didn't even think about it. Hopefully one of those schools will get the results in the paper or on their website.

  21. It ain't the camera, it's the venue, dear sir. You know Ms. Gadget is going to have something lovely in the high end range. For example, this photo was taken in the UT roundhouse from way up in the mezzanine: ( photo carefully chosen so as not to show wrestler's faces) And I looked at my Blackhorse photos this afternoon. DARK, DARK, DARK. None came out well, no matter which settings I use. Not the camera. Blame the photographer or the venue. I choose the latter.
  22. I do, Coach B, but I haven't looked at it yet. I'll email it to you this afternoon, provided it turned out. The ranch is dark (no pun intended), and I can't get good pics unless I'm up close. And you know how they are about keeping spectators & photographers away from matside.
