  1. Thanks We've been up and down all year, trying to live up to last year in some way. We finally found about 15 or 16 guys that were willing to do whatever it takes to win. I would like to thank Marty Carpenter of William Blount for all he has done for me from being my coach to a friend. I would also like to thank Jeff Price of Science Hill for his support. This has been another good year, and I hope it gets better this weekend. I want everybody to know that we appreciate all of your positive comments. Kingston and Seymour have two very good teams and they deserve recognition for their accomplishments as well. Coach Adams has done a heck of a job. So has Coach Lauderdale. 2. Marty Carpenter is a saint. You ask anyone in region 2 about Marty Carpenter, and they will tell you that he is a class act. Zach and Marty both were just being honest. Can you blame them? I wrestled for Marty and know Zach very well. Marty taught me everything I know and has been like a father to me. Zach deserved a better chance. The bear hug is not the only move he can do; he is a good wrestler. He placed 2nd at Bradley this year. I agree with both Coach Carpenter and Zach that Reveiz avoided the move (I probably would have too) and hindered Zach's opportunity at best wrestler. The ref should have called stalling more and talked to the kids to encourage wrestling. I voted for Zach anyway. He is without question the hardest working high school wrestler that I have ever seen, and was a dominating 189 this year, that's why he's got my vote. I have seen him run almost two miles to school. Then after wrestling and workouts run to Arby's to work. Please don't say anything negative about either Coach or Zach. If you ever get to meet them, you will see that they are two of the nicest people around. I don't like to see this kind of negative response to them. Good Luck to Zach at state. I hope I get a chance to see him wrestle Saturday night. Thanks Justin Ridge Head Wrestling Coach Greenback High School
  3. Zeits is tough, and I hope he gets another shot at Talley in the finals. I would love to see two guys from our region in the finals, and I think both guys can get there. Good luck, Robert.
  4. Watch out for O'hearn for Bearden at 145 and Landon Hall. Anderson from Heritage at 135 got close last year. There are a few more guys that have a shot. I will be watchin the Seymour, South Doyle, and Farragut guys especially. They have some really good draws into the semis. Coach Ridge
  5. We weren't booing Nick. I think he did a great job. He really impressed me. I was personally upset with the referee. He needed to call stalling because Zack Dunn is a good wrestler, and he didn't get a chance to show how good he was because there was not much wrestling going on in that match. He said the reason he didn't call it was because he would have to DQ him. That's bull. I have worked with Zack in the past because I was at William Blount before we started things at Greenback. TS, the ref, needed to make the right decision and encourage wrestling. It wasn't Reveiz's fault, he is a first year wrestler and a dang good one at that. I just wished that Zack would have had the opportunity to finish a takedown before going out of bounds. They went out of bounds at least ten times and everybody in the gym not just the Greenback people knew that that was stalling. Again, I am really impressed with your 189 and wish him the best. Nobody meant disrespect to him, everyone was just upset at the ref. Justin Ridge/ Greenback
  6. Voleagle, Who are you? What have you done? What are you trying to compensate for? Be a man and tell me who you are. I'm guessing that you are associated with UC and Farragut. I hope that they don't claim you cause that would be a disgrace to their programs. I don't think that Joe and Jason would want their teams associated with someone filled with as much hate and lack of self-esteem as you. I think I probably know you, but I don't want to try to guess. I just wish you had something good to say about wrestling instead of something bad to say about everybody else. I have alot of respect for Union County and Farragut cause they both have great wrestlers. Yes, Union County had two qualifiers. They are good. I can say something good about them with having to compare them with somebody else. Good Luck to whoever you are associated with at state. I hope your things get better between us, and I hope someday you can forgive Greenback for whatever we have done to make you nervous and angry. With Apology Justin Ridge/ Greenback
  7. Coach Hamm, Coach Beardsly, Coach Dugger, Coach Morman, and Coach Taylor thanks for the support. Coach Taylor we would love to wrestle you guys next year dual meet. Just meet up with me at the tournament, and we will try to get something scheduled. Drem2Achev, what school are you with? We would like to wrestle you guys too, thanks for defending us, I'm sure I will meet you at state. We did have only 3 qualifiers. Sorry that we could not have more. We had several guys that should have made it. But shoulda coulda woulda, no excuses they lost. We had 5 or so guys that were eliminated in the consolation semis because Voleagle threatened to hurt them if they won, cuz if they had won he wouldn't anything to talk about. Just kidding Voleagle, I'm sure you mean well. We are working on being a better tournament team, but this year we focused on being a good dual team. Next year we will go to the Catholic Tournament and hopefully Bradley. We have 3 seniors, only one of them is going to state. We have a youth program and are already in the weight room for next year. Good luck to Smyrna, Knox Catholic, Union County, and FRA at state. Justin Ridge/ Greenback
