  1. It may have felt more meaningful if DII was there, but you wouldn't have been standing on the podium. So how meaningful is it sitting in the stands?
  2. The wrestler you are basing this argument on went 1-2 all three years at Div II state. He never placed and was never going to. There are a lot of DI wrestlers who qualify from weak regions who are 1 and done and will never place at state. So, what exactly is your argument and who are you having this argument with? If all you are saying is that it is harder to qualify for state at DI, well DUH. If you are implying that the DII wrestlers who place at state would not even qualify for the DI tournament, then you need to master something other than your blaster.
  3. If your spelling is any indication, you didn't remember properly.
  4. At the CBHS Duals in mid-january. CBHS 36, FR 25 Results are here: http://faculty.cbhs.org/clewis/cbhs_duals_1_14_06.htm
  5. Let's put an end to this MBA Seniors taking advantage of the Father Ryan Freshman and Sophomores. Just look at each result 103 mba FRESHMAN pins FR sophomore 112 mba FRESHMAN goes out, FR forfeits 119 mba JUNIOR beats FR Junior 125 mba 8TH GRADER loses to FR freshman 130 mba SOPHOMORE beats FR sophomore 135 mba JUNIOR loses to FR Senior 140 mba JUNIOR loses to FR ??? 145 mba SENIOR beats FR sophomore 152 mba SOPHOMORE beats FR sophomore 160 mba SENIOR beats FR junior 171 mba SENIOR loses to FR junior 189 mba SENIOR beats FR senior 215 mba SENIOR beats FR junior 275 mba SENIOR beats FR junior mba had one senior face a FR sophomore, and no senior wrestling a freshman. Where FR has young wrestlers, mba also has young wrestlers. And it looks like the mba young wrestlers held their own against the FR wrestlers.
  6. Great win for MBA and tremendous fan support from MBA at Ryan's gym. Looked to me like there were a lot more MBA fans in the stands and on the floor than there were from Ryan. IT was wonderful the way Ryan paid tribute to the 73-74 RYan team that won the state championship with both Pat and Frank Simpson on the team. In fact, I think that Ryan team beat MBA by about the same score MBA beat Ryan tonight.
  7. If you look closely, I don't think you will find any DII guys. Could Coach Bray be ranking only DI??
  8. We can all "guess" as to who is the better wrestler. The fact is, Fuller lost the match to Konz. Mr. Fuller is a class act and knows injuries are part of it. I'm sure he congratulated Konz and is planning on getting him back the next time they wrestle. But I don't think he would argue that he deserves to be ranked #1 after losing to the #2 -- no matter what the circumstances.
  9. At 135, Konz beat Fuller at the McCallie Invitational
  10. QUOTE(Rabbitt @ Dec 27 2005 - 08:28 PM) Kent Johnson vs Bailey Whitaker 3-0 Danny Coleman vs Ben Johnson 6-0 Mike Ortiz vs Whitt Dunning 6-4 Bo ursary vs Cory Manson 6-7 Ryan Fuller vs Will Young 9-7 Travis Creagan vs Cody Cleveland 9-10 Joel Knoz vs Andrew Smith 9-13 Davis Johnson vs Daniel Rawn 9-16 Lucas Boreman vs Nick Marable 9-19 Justin Knox vs Aaron Bateman 13-19 Knox owned Bateman last year. Kenny Merideth vs Drew Wanat 18-19 No way KeNNy was undefeated. Nick Revez vs Courtny Coffee 21-19 Ben Hazelett vs Charles Green 24-19 T1-24 T2-19 Perhaps, MasterBlaster, you should master something other than your blaster. The scoring system means Team 1 is the left score and Team 2 is the right score. Brer Rabbit has given Mr. Knox a 4 point decision and Mr. Merideth a 5 point decision. I think that was more than fair -- don't you?
  11. Need to research your research, Rig. Mine shows more like 60-40, DII.
  12. Will Bible be blessed at 160 in DII?
  13. They broke it into DI and DII so DI could keep some dignity. Otherwise they would be giving all the gold to DII.
  14. In DII, at 119, I think Eve(a)n Barry could win it, or perhaps Sadam's southern cousin, Jed.
  15. It was without a doubt the most exciting dual match I've seen. With seven victories for each team, it came down to large wins vs small losses. MBA squeaked it out by 1. Several of MBA's biggest "victories" were their minor losses. There was a lot for both teams to be proud of and take on to the state duals and state individuals. There is one thread that seems to be running through the most recent discussions, however, that needs to be corrected. In the 140 match Morales did indeed slam Hall to the mat after lifting him above his shoulder. I have looked at a tape of the match three times, and each time it is the same. It doesn't change because I am for Father Ryan or MBA. This is what happens: Morales has a single leg and Hall is fighting. Morales picks Hall up, lifts him to his shoulder and then slams him to his back on the mat with his shoulder driving into his stomach. I don't think there was anything intentional about it. Morales was trying to win. But it is an illegal move. The ref called it right. Hall ended up with a concussion from the slam and had to be driven home after the match. In fact, Hall should be commended. He could have stayed on his back another five seconds or so and won the match 6-0 with an injury default. Instead he got back up to fight. Good job by Morales to get the takedown with only 1 second left. I'm sure both wrestlers are anxious to see each other again at state.
