  1. That was the first time in several years that I know without a shadow of a doubt that a referee was trying to give the game to a certain team. J.D. is known throughout this part of TN to be a terrible ref on the court and arrogant on and off the court. He has something against Coach Pope or someone at Cascade, because he tries to do this every time. It was just SO apparent to anyone that was at that game. TSSAA, time to wake up. This guy is not fit to be an official.
  2. Most winning teams don't make a lot of friends. If you haven't noticed, most people are very poor losers.
  3. Have you guys ever heard of "spell check"? Better yet, did you do anything when you went to school besides play football? If I didn't know the English language any better than you guys, I sure wouldn't be posting on here where everyone can see how uneducated you are. Your former teachers must shudder when they see this sorry excuse for fourth grade grammar and spelling.
  4. You think that "undisaplend" is a word and you think you have any credibility? Cascade has been the victim of more than their share of cheap-shots this year, especially by that bunch of overrated crybabies at Forrest (waaaah, the band distracted us), but the Cascade players have been warned not to reply in kind. However, some have, to their shame and the shame of all the good sports who support Cascade football, but who do not support bad sportsmanship.
  5. I wonder if any of them can spell the word "positive" correctly and know not to use a sentence fragment. You don't.
  6. Forrest is a bunch of whiney babies. The referees, from anyone's viewpoint, were terrible and inconsistent. They threw a flag on Cascade for yelling at a Forrest player, even though the Forrest player retaliated by shoving the Cascade player. Then, our quarterback runs out of bounds, and is shoved AFTER he went out of bounds and AFTER the whistle blew. NO FLAG. And then the idiots motioned for the ball to be put into play, as if to say, "Yeah, we realize that your quarterback is probably a corpse by now, but we want to be home in time to watch Rudy Kalis." Coach Parker had to beg and plead to be given an injury time out. Good heavens. Can the TSSAA not do better? While he was laying there in agony, after having landed on his wrist and hitting his back against a metal fence because a cheap shot artist just had to prove what a man he was shoved him, I saw Forrest players laughing and pointing and one was overheard to say, "He's down and he's gonna stay down." What class! This tops it all... Coach Parker always asks the other team if they want to pray with the Cascade players after the game, and this idiot on the Forrest team tells him to f... off and said, "We aren't praying with THEM." How do you spell that whine sound? I wish I knew. Waaaaaahhhhh! Forrest has been spoiled by success in basketball, softball, and baseball. They THOUGHT they had arrived in football. Think again, CLASSLESS!
  7. The Cascade boys were ready for Eagleville in a big way. I think that the suspensions of three key players may have actually helped, because Cascade didn't just assume they would win. In fact, they felt like they had all they could handle and had something to prove. Coach Parker and his staff did a wonderful job of preparation this week. And I noticed that the suspended players were on the sidelines giving encouragement to the team. Guys, that takes class. Now, let's get Collinwood next week and go to the playoffs!
  8. Wow, do they have an English Department at your school? Well, that's beside the point, I guess. Both teams knew the rule. You can't fight and you can't run onto the field. No matter how badly you want to hit someone back, you CANNOT. This is something that all young people need to learn. If you are in a situation where something is against the rules (or the law), you just have to accept it. Both teams will either get what they deserve or they'll get mercy.
  9. The Moore Co. girls team represents the very best of what sports is all about. They are not very athletic, they are not great shooters, and they don't impress you in warmups. What they do is play as a TEAM. It revolves around Abby, because that is her role. Every single player on that team knows her own role and they don't try to do someone else's job. Abby knows that she's not the most athletic girl in the state, but I bet she does know that she's among the smartest and the grittiest. Coaches Sessions and Price have done the best job of any coaches in the state with these girls.
  10. Julie Powell was an outstanding player at Cannon County High School who was recruited by King Rick. Her parents, as I recall, were offered jobs in Shelbyville and they planned to move. There was such a stink about it that she stayed in Woodbury. This has happened quite a few times, but most of the time it never went public.
  11. It's always been strange to me how the TSSAA looks the other way at blatant violations of the intent of their rules. Why do they even have a zoning rule if it's not going to be enforced? Why do they have a "no tampering" rule if no attempt is ever going to be made to investigate? Why do they have a rule against practicing in the summer if they are going to let coaches find ways around that? If there has ever been a CHEATER, it's Rick Insell. In my opinion, the TSSAA either needs to drop these rules or enforce them. And not selectively, either. I used to think that eventually they would wake up, smell the coffee, and put an end to the Eaglette fiasco, but I've given up. They know he cheats, they don't care, and apparently it's just a big joke to them.
  12. I'm wondering what would happen IF MJ did defeat Shelbyville. Here are some things that would surely transpire afterwards. 1) The Shelbyville fans would be crying and whining that the referees had cheated them. 2) Insell would pout. He might even go sit up in the stands while the awards are presented. 3) The Shelbyville Times-Gazette would run down the officiating. 4) Mount Juliet would be renamed "the Mount of Transfiguration" 5) At least one Mt. Juliet player's parents would be contacted about possible "relocation" in Bedford County.
  13. Coach Sessions is, in my mind, the very best coach in Tennessee high school basketball. You never see her run up the score, you rarely see her complaining to referees, and it's obvious that she is just a class act. Her team reflects her good coaching and sportsmanship. In this day when coaches are expected to be loud and obnoxious and complain about every call that goes against them, she is a breath of fresh air. There are a few of them still around who know that life is more than basketball. I shall always root for those. Oh, by the way, she also knows a good bit about winning... 801 wins!
  14. Anyone who knows Abby knows that she is a class act and always has been. It's easy to dislike players on opposing teams, but truth be told, if they were OUR players, we'd love them. Congratulations to Coaches Sessions and Price on another excellent season. These ladies are a class act, the boys' coach is a class act, and so are the players. The fans... maybe.
  15. You hit on a key phrase..."public school region". I noticed that my post last week blasting the unfairness of private schools being classified with small public schools was censored (DELETED) by the next day. Just like the TSSAA, ignoring the problem. This will not fix it. Let's just all admit it. The private schools have scads of people on waiting lists to get into their schools and they will always pick those who can be of benefit to them financially. It's good business sense. Get an all state quarterback or point guard and people will come to see the games. Are they going to pick Johnny Nerdbody because he can make a 30 on the ACT over a top athlete? You know the answer. Wake up, people, especially if you are fan of small public schools! WE ARE BEING RIPPED!!! WE ARE BEING CHEATED!!! Put these private schools in their own division or put them in 5A. By the way, I fully expect this post will be deleted before tomorrow.
  16. Just one bone to pick on this one. Why do I often see, in reference to Abby Fanning, "whether you like her or not"??? Do people really believe that a girl (or boy) is a terrible person because they are aggressive on the basketball court? From what I have seen and heard, Abby is one of the most congenial and pleasant young ladies around when she's not dribbling a basketball down your throat or sticking to you like fly paper when she's guarding you. I heard that she is going to be valedictorian of her class, too. That doesn't surprise me. Abby, you don't know me, but I am a fan of anyone who can get it done on AND off the court!

    Cascade

Give the guy a chance, would ya? I can tell you this much. Those guys are nice boys, definitely NOT thugs. If anything, they will suffer because they are TOO nice. I don't buy into the notion that Coach Green doesn't have any control, either. Who comes up with this stuff? He has a very good rapport with his players. Is that what they mean?? Coach Mooney was a very good coach in my opinion, and Coach Green has big shoes to fill. But I'm sure he will do well.
  18. You're right. Huntland has a good team and Cascade EDGED them, didn't dominate them. Cascade DID, however, dominate both Gordonsville and Wayne County. Nobody believes that Cascade will beat Collinwood (oh they say they believe it, but in their heart of hearts they just kinda HOPE they can). What bothers me is that all these fine teams can play their hearts out all year and even if it is "their year" or even "their decade", it's all for nought because the stupid TSSAA allows the single A schools to play against schools who have thousands of kids on the waiting list to get into their respective schools. Which kids do you think they will pick? HINT: the ones who can play ball. They don't NEED scholarship money. Many of them have parents who can afford to send them to the private schools and there are other ways to get around that anyway. What if Cascade had 2000 kids to choose from for their football team? Do you think we just might be a little bit better? You KNOW we would and all these other single A squads would be too. Will the TSSAA morons ever wake up? I think that all private schools should either be put in the private school classification with those who do give scholarships, or required to play in 5A. Even THAT would not be fair in many instances.
