  1. Well, Spring practice is over and i believe it was very productive. We ended spring with a scrimmage against Elizabethton on top of Mount Ryder. I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer. Lets get "bigger, faster, stronger" this summer and get after some people in fall.
  2. When the catcher stands up and gives exstensive signals to the infield you reply, "The catcher wants a #2 combo w/ coke and curly fries."
  3. Wow! Cougerman, welcome back. We haven't heard from you in a while. Actually, I was expecting a little bit more. "We were using the wrong type bats"? No offense, but I figured from all the crap you'd been talking earlier, you could have at least made up a respectable excuse for the reason you were beaten by us. Disappointment does not accurately express my emotion.
  4. Good wins today men. (I mean, boys and Jacob) We beat Central 5 - 2. (maybe 3) Hit the ball well and played pretty good D. Rob pitched the first 3. Then Reese came in to close the door, and threw the ball with authority, without getting hurt. The win over Central put us in a second game against South Green and we won 9 - 3. Changed the batting order slightly and things worked good. Seal pitched in the second game gave up 3 early and then he settled in and pitched a great game up to the 7th, when he was relieved by Franklin who also threw good. Cougarman, i hope you got to see the game cuz it was a great one. And Waco was right about the winner, as always.
  5. Word on the street is that todays game is @ Boone against Central. Should kick things off about 2:15. We've got a good chance of winning today as long as we throw strikes, keep the D solid, and get hits early and often. LoL - you got "roo rooed?"
  6. InTheTrenches, you are sadley mistaken if you think I was defending you. I simply stated that in the last two games we have been bit in the rear by a late turnover or some BS of a prayer thrown on 3rd and 17. There is nothing you can do about that as a coach except bite your lip and adjust. And for my closing statement in my in last post, i guess it's just hard to display sarcasm on the computer.
  7. InTheTrenches, I would like to know where your coming from when you said our coach is unable or no good. Did you coach or play against us? Or maybe you use to play for us, and quit. It's easy to criticize someone from up in the stands. And etvolfan, why are you putting down our OC. Perhaps you missed our last two games, so here is the last minute run down for both. Crocket-They complete what I think was the only pass of the night to pull ahead with around 90 secs. left. Central-We threw an INT. late in the game. And EVERYONE THROWS INTERCEPTIONS, IT'S JUST PART OF THE GAME. I mean we had, i believe, over 300 yards offense at Central. But hey nobody seems to care about that if we lose. It's just The coaches finding another way to lose, right?
  8. The Bon-fire is tonight, after the J.V. game (or during it). So come support the J.V. team and have a good time afterwards with all the activites.
  9. Sorry, I'm a little late with my post. But Guru, it's nice to hear that Sean still remembers us. I played Pee Wee at Lynn View (Go Raiders!). Those were good times. We had almost an unfair advantage with our coaching staff consisting of Gary Yates, "LOG", and Gerald Yates <------One of the best Coaches/Men I have ever had the privilege of meeting or playing under. But anyway, I hope your son has a speedy and complete recovery. And lets go get Central! P.S. Also, Guru, could you do me a personal favor and try to tell Gerald that Brian Morelock says hello, hopes he is doing well, and that I will try to see him after the game Oct. 8th.
  10. Dont forget dp, the falcons also have what many people think is the best receiver in the conference in Brandon Flemming. GO FALCONS!!!
  11. Well, us baseball kids are back, and practice seemed pretty good. There wasn't a position on the field that I thought could not be filled, or is not ALREADY filled with a lot of talent. We've got some size on the o-line, so Charles can do his thing with the goto guy, Fleming. And we have a very very vast receiving corps. to support them both. The backfield seems to be pretty tough too, with Jay at RB, Mellons at RB, Jarvis at FB, and a few others such as Morelock, J. Davis, Villegas, and Bo Dykes subbing in at the moment. The defense looks good with all the defensive backs returning along with Chapman and Shivers. All together, I believe we'll have an excellent season. Don't you think so Dp?
  12. Tough loss tonight against Chuckey Doak. It seemed like we just fell apart late in the game. But on a lighter note, Everyone owes Coach Bowery $2.50! Inside joke.
  13. Our Home games usually start at 5 or 5:30. So the whole team will goto the coaches room and watch either Major League, Major League 2, or Field of Dreams. Wesley Snipes is hellarious in Major League!
  14. I don't think that I have ever played a game where I didnt check and retighten my cleat inserts.
  15. I agree! The messa at Volunteer is an excellent place to play.
  16. Just heard that the teams first scrimmage will be at Volunteer because Cherokee's field is swamped.
  17. thanks Doubleplay. By the way, could you post the teams scrimmage schedule?¿
  18. Doubleplay, there was alot of talk about Captain D movin to short since geoff headed over to North. Any truth in that or is it just some hear-say. And if you can, who are the POSSIBLE starters. It may be too early to tell, but I was just wondering.
