I think Johnson County will be to big and physical for Happy Valley. Happy Valleys athleticism keeps them in the game but a close one. Johnson County by 6.

Hampton by 14, Unaka by 21, Elizabethton by 3, Johnson County by 6 and Cherokee by 28.

Don't think there underrated but I do think they are much improved. I look for them to continue getting better over the next few years.

Didn't see the Science Hill game but heard that he played really well. I Believe that he is the future and it want be long until he is playing ever Friday night. But I also think the coaches have done the right thing in working him in slowly. You're right that he does need to see some prime time varsity action and hope that he will soon. Opionions are what this forum is for and I think its great when you get on here and voice yours and have a discussion with others.

With Ivan blowing in I think it will hurt the Cyclones chances. South's ground game is better than Elizabethton's mainly because of the QB. I've agreed with playing Jeffers but if it's a wet rainy night like what's called for then I believe it could be time to play Smith. If you can't throw the ball then Smith is much better to have in at that position. I'm still going to stick with the Betsy boys by a touchdown.

A change a quarterback probably will have to happen sometime this year, and I think that the coaches know that. The young QB does have the ability to scramble and to make some things happen. What I've seen of him in one JV game and what he's played on Fridays is that he looks to get confused on some plays and still isn't throwing the ball real well. Yes, I think that he will be the quarterback before the year is over but I believe that the coaches have done the right thing in leaving Jeffers in there until he is ready. What we need to do as fans is to support the kids and coaches. Believe in what the coaches are doing like the kids do and things will be good.

I look for Elizabethton to come out on top in this one. Looks like the coaching staff is really putting together good game plans and the kids are really buying into them. I think you may see some of the younger players step up this week but not at the QB position. Jeffers is not very mobile but handles the offense well. Give it a little more time for Smith to grasp on and I believe we will see him in there.

You don't need to listen to the few that do not. They don't have a clue. Leave it all on the field Friday night guys and play like you did last week (except for the turnovers) and you can beat this team. thumb

I heard a rumor last night that there may not be a JV game against Tn High. Just have to wait and see.

The new coach at east seems to have really turned that program around. I agree that they could be one of the better teams in Sullivan County this year. Look for East big over Cloudland.

I think that this will be another one of those classic battles that we usually see between these two teams. I think that Jeffers will probably get the start at quarterback but it shouldn't take to long to see someone else in there. Peters and Smith both will probably see some playing time and one of these two will probably be the starter before long. If Betsy can keep SH from breaking the big play they should pull this one out. My prediction Betsy by 6 (still don't know that they can kick extra points).
