  1. Brian, Thanks to your family for all that you have done for my family and wrestling in Tennessee. My relationship with God is stronger because of the example your family has been to me. I have asked Coacht to take off that post by uptilnow. It is disappointing to see the amount of slandering, baiting, name calling, and bashing that has gone on this board this year. I hope that coacht does something to clean it up. Thanks again Brad Fiscus
  2. Thank you for your unsolicited support. Lloyd you and your son have been a big part of Overton and middle Tennessee wrestling. Thanks for your support and help at the tournaments I have ran for Gabe and Region 6.
  3. I believe that was proposed last year by a group of coaches to the rest of the coaches in the state at the state tournament. It was not accepted by them so it did not advance further.
  4. It was at McGavock last year but they moved it to Dickson this year.
  5. This is not the wrestling magazine idea proposed by fiscon and Mat Control. I don't want there to be any confusion between the 2. I am not interested in competition or making a profit, just want to cover costs of the production and publication. If we can work together on this let me know. I have been involved in wrestling as a wrestler, coach, and tournament director for over 25 years. Send me an email and we will discuss it.wrestling@fiscusconsulting.com
  6. About McCroskey and Felix at GP West- Felix manhandled him, so I don't think that McCroskey's match with Rijar is a factor here. Rijar is ready. I think that he will make a strong run into the Semis, but they have to wrestle. The score with ward was closer than the match appeared, Emin controlled it.
  7. Let me ask you did your informed opinion come from being involved in the situation or from hearsay and this message board? From what I understand, from people who are involved in the situation, Courtney was never charged by the school or police with theft. In America, we do not convict people unless they have been charged and found guilty. What gives us the right then, to get on this board and abuse a kid over stuff we really do not know about, I think all of this discussion needs to end, if he is charged, which I understand he has not been, then let the courts settle it, it is not our right unless we are in the jury to make a decision or past judgement about this. I think this might be the opportunity for us to have a true idea of how our 2 division system compares to each other when you have in one bracket the potential for a 2x D2 state champion to face possibly 2 different D1 champions. Courtney will have a difficult road to the finals as will any kid in the state tournament. Reveiz and Birman are both capable of wrestling him down to the wire. Discuss what you think will happen in the state tournament, but lets not begin the debate over whether a kid who made some bad choices and in your words is a "theif" will be a life long criminal. All of us who have come through that time in our lives can look back and realize that we, too, did some questionable things. Let the kids decide it on the mat, and the law decide it in the courts. And the answer to your last question, is yes, if Courtney needed a place to stay, I wouldn't have a problem with it, or from the other thread David Mang, why? Because I know these kids, and they may have made some bonehead choices but we all have and we all got a 2nd chance. I am sorry for your bitterness.
  8. I am willing to talk to those who are interested in this, it is being done in other states.
  9. There is just not enough coverage of wrestling anywhere in the state. One of the problems with Tennessee wrestling is that we are all separated from each other, we tend not to communicate with each other about what is going on and therefore the kids are not getting the recognition they deserve. As a former wrestling coach, I have developed a tournament management business where we run several midstate tournaments, we do publish the results online but there needs to be a central source for that publishing or at least a place where that can happen. I want to create a place where fans can go to get the results of any tournament or match they wish to see, now I know that is going to be difficult because coaches tend to not send information in, but i think if they knew there would be benefits from it, then they would more likely be willing to participate. i plan on being at the state tournament on Thursday. I am first and foremost a stayathome dad and a youth minister. I run these tournaments throughout the season with the help of some others who work for me. However, I think that we could make an attempt at making this work. I would say that a majority of the coaches in Tennessee know who I am or what I do, I have ran tournaments and coached in tournaments all over the state. I foresee that we would need to have an easy way to report results, pictures etc and then possibly have regional people who would help keep coaches involved in turning their results in. Coverage in Chattanooga is not bad, but coaches throughout the state want more coverage and a more consolidated coverage. I may be rambling so I will stop, but you can contact me also at bjfiscus@fiscusconsulting.com If you have not yet gone there, go to www.fiscusconsulting.com/matcontrol.html That is the part of my site that is involved with wrestling.
  10. Don't bypass what i said about the Magazine. If you all will help, we can kick it off in the fall.
  11. Have one of my crews run the tournament and we will make sure it is publicized, but short of that, send an email to tnsports@tennessean.com or call and ask for Jeff Lockridge. They still need to do a much better job with wrestling overall at the Tennessean, we as fans and tournament directors need to keep on them about it, basketball and football get the coverage, but seldom unless it is a big tournament, coverage doesn't happen. I and a few others have been talking about the development of a Tennessee Wrestling magazine, with limited funding, it could be done over the internet, but again information would have to be reported in a timely manner for it to happen. If I thought that I would have the support and the help to do it, I would consider opening a new site for that purpose. The goal for it would be to publicize the entire state both high school and college and potentially, middle school if I had the help. Anybody up for it?
  12. Region 7's tournament was on Thursday and Friday, look in the Saturday edition for the results. Region 6 gets covered because I keep them informed as to the schedule of the tournament, as well as who is competing. After it is over i send them results. Jeff Lockridge was there the entire placement session on Friday at Region 7 and on Saturday at Region 6.
  13. If someone can tell me how to post an image, I will put a picture of Franklin and Ty on this message, so that they can view it.

  18. I don't know if any of us do, or if any of us will, or have the right to know what happened with Courtney at PJP. Courtney is a nice kid, who also has worked hard to be successful in athletics. I have seen many with his God given gifts do nothing with it, it takes a lot more to win a state championship than just showing up. Leave the kid alone, and let's see how this next week unfolds. He wrestled very well in the Region 6 tournament tonight. Let's let him have the opportunity to compete before we predetermine what or where he should be after the awards are handed out. I don't often comment about these things except to post information about the tournaments we run at Mat Control. However, it is very sad how this has turned into a board where young men and outstanding coaches are ridiculed, disrespected, and slandered with little information other than hear say. Wrestling is a time consuming sport that requires you to be committed both as a coach and as a competitor. How many of you who are writing this stuff ever actually stepped on a mat?
  19. I will try to keep the website updated during the day, go to Region 6 Results.
  20. Go to Region 7 Results, to see who all qualified.
  21. The final results are being loaded as I type this. Check out the Results. Congratulations to Coach Easley and the Glencliff Colts. Thanks to Miss Ellie for running a great tournament on my behalf. The link: Region 7 Final Results You may need to refresh your browser.
  22. Updated results are now online, you may need to refresh your browser. We will begin wrestling at 9:30am in the morning with the Quarterfinals. If you look at the brackets and see a * next to wrestler's name, that means he is taking the ACT, we attempted to wrestle anyone who was taking the ACT tonight so that we can proceed with the tournament in the morning while they are taking their tests. There are 46 quarters and 14 first round consos waiting for the quarterfinal losers, we will try to keep everything moving as best we can with the conso finals starting around 2:30-3 and the Championship finals beginning at 4-4:30p. Here is the link Region 6
  23. I was asked by the coach to remove him from the bracket, no explanation was given. He is a good wrestler, sad to see him out.
  24. She's not lying- she sent them, now they are up there. Click here Region 7 Thursday Results Link Thank you Miss Ellie
  25. The tournament is under way and completed through the semis, Miss Ellie is doing a fantastic job running the show. Updates to the website will take place as soon as she sends them to me this evening. Sneak peek- Antioch, Glencliff, McGavock--- Top 3 teams currently
