  3. Last year Bolivar matched up with east TN Sullivan Central in the first round and you ended up with the best two teams (Bolivar and Raleigh Egypt) in the finals, so I don't think you can say that "this happens every year". How else would you propose to set the brackets if random draw is unfair? Are we going ot use the AP polls that everyone cries about all year long? This just looks like another forum for crying to me. This should get me ripped pretty good, have fun. lol
  4. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. PF 8-1 (beat Union, GP twice, Rutledge twice, CG twice, Claiborne; lost Union) CG 6-2 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge; lost PF twice) CHS 5-4 (beat Rutledge twice, GP twice, Union; lost to CG twice, Union, PF) UC 3-5 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge, PF;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne, GP, Rutledge) RHS 2-7 (beat GP, Union; lost to Claiborne twice, GP, Union, CG, PF twice) GP 2-7 (beat Rutledge, Union; lost to CG twice, Claiborne twice, PF twice, Rutledge)
  5. PF beat Rutledge last night 68-61 to lock up the Regular Season District Championship and the #1 seed in the tournament. It was an ugly game, but a win is a win. KevB do you know the order of all the tie-breakers. Things could get interesting in the 4-6 spots. I wonder what Union and GP have. PF is 5 and I think CG is 6, that leaves 2,3, & 4 for Claiborne, GP, and Union.
  6. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. PF 7-1 (beat Union, GP twice, Rutledge, CG twice, Claiborne; lost Union) CG 6-2 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge; lost PF twice) CHS 5-4 (beat Rutledge twice, GP twice, Union; lost to CG twice, Union, PF) UC 3-5 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge, PF;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne, GP, Rutledge) GP 2-7 (beat Rutledge, Union; lost to CG twice, Claiborne twice, PF twice, Rutledge) RHS 2-6 (beat GP, Union; lost to Claiborne twice, GP, Union, CG, PF)
  7. Allen chose not to play ball in college.
  8. What's bad is he didn't even set a school record. Allen DeWyse hit 12 three's and scored 46 points against Chucky Doak last year.
  9. PF, in an unbelievable game, beats CG 93-57. PF played out of their minds tonight and just took CG out of the game early. Richard Brown finds the infamous "zone" scoring 37 points and hitting 11 threes in only three quarters. PF led 32-17 after the 1st and never looked back. Just a truly unbelievable outcome in this battle for first. PF now needs to win one of last two to lock up the #1 seed.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'll let everyone know that can't make the drive where to find the game on the net. Not sure if i'm going yet or not, I'll yell at ya if I make it up there.
  11. Unicoi and South Greene seem to be the obvious favorites in District 1. There is no way to know about District 2 until after the tournament. Everyone is so even the only way to guarantee a spot in the Region is to earn the bye (not sure if that is correct spelling for this use) in the tournament. That is still up for grabs between CG, PF, and Claiborne. Claiborne could still finish #2 if they win out (GP and PF) and PF or CG loses out. PF and CG need one win to get #2. PF needs 2 wins with one being over CG tonight to finish #1. Anything can happen from here on out. If PF could stay hot they have a chance, but Claiborne and CG still have to be the favorites.
  12. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. CG 6-1 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge; lost PF) PF 6-1 (beat Union, GP twice, Rutledge, CG, Claiborne; lost Union) CHS 4-4 (beat Rutledge twice, GP, Union; lost to CG twice, Union, PF) UC 3-4 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge, PF;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne, GP) GP 2-6 (beat Rutledge, Union; lost to CG twice, Claiborne, PF twice, Rutledge) RHS 1-6 (beat GP; lost to Claiborne twice, GP, Union, CG, PF)
  13. Not sure of the order of the tie-breakers. It was a huge win for PF at a very talented Claiborne. I still think that CG and Claiborne have the most talent in the district and PF still has to play them both one more time. PF at CG on Fri winner will be the front runner for the # 1 seed. I expect CG to win at their place, but the Tigers have proven to be a team that plays with a lot of heart and refuses to lose, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. Should be a good one to watch anyway.
  14. I don't think CG is getting disrespected at all. They were in everyones preseason #1 or #2 and they have lived up to those expectations. They are a very good team. It is almost impossible to go undefeated in this district with the balance it has. Even going through the regular season with only one loss would be a great accomplishment. I think everyone respects CG and their ability. People just aren't surprised by their winning, like they might be with PF or Union, because they were expected to be there. I agree though, it should be another great tournament.
  15. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. CG 6-1 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge; lost PF) PF 5-1 (beat Union, GP twice, Rutledge, CG; lost Union) CHS 4-3 (beat Rutledge twice, GP, Union; lost to CG twice, Union) UC 3-4 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge, PF;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne, GP) GP 2-6 (beat Rutledge, Union; lost to CG twice, Claiborne, PF twice, Rutledge) RHS 1-6 (beat GP; lost to Claiborne twice, GP, Union, CG, PF)
  16. Thanks. That was a fun game to watch. PF really battled all night against a very good CG team. We will need all the luck in the world next week traveling to Claiborne and CG. Matter of fact we play @ Rutledge the following tues. Tough stretch.
  17. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. CG 6-0 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge) PF 4-1 (beat Union, GP twice, Rutledge; lost Union) CHS 4-3 (beat Rutledge twice, GP, Union; lost to CG twice, Union) UC 3-3 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge, PF;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne) GP 1-6 (beat Rutledge; lost to CG twice, Claiborne, PF twice, Rutledge) RHS 1-6 (beat GP; lost to Claiborne twice, GP, Union, CG, PF)
  18. PF beat GP on tues by 12 or 13. Big win headed into show down with CG on Fri.
  19. Rutledge is probably the toughest gym in our district to get a win at. They have talent and good athletes. They will be tough down the stretch and especially at home. I just think it is a very balanced district once again and anyone can win on any given night. Should be another great tournament.
  20. Updated standings, please make corrections if these are wrong. CG 6-0 (beat Union, Claiborne twice, GP twice, Rutledge) PF 3-0 (beat Union, GP, Rutledge) CHS 3-3 (beat Rutledge, GP, Union; lost to CG twice, Union) UC 2-3 (beat Claiborne, Rutledge;lost to PF, CG, Claiborne) GP 1-4 (beat Rutledge; lost to CG twice, Claiborne, PF) RHS 0-5 (lost to Claiborne, GP, Union, CG, PF)
  21. PF beat Rutledge 66-60 in an ugly game. PF got down 9-2 early, then battled back to take a 10 point lead into the half. Lead got up to 14 (I think) in second half, Rutledge got as close as 3 but PF was able to hold them off. Stiles had 13, Taylor 12, Gibbs 10 to lead PF Reischling had 20 and Hudson 15 to lead Rutledge
  22. PF lost to Cosby by 2 last night. What a great game to watch. Both teams played well, Cosby shot the lights out in the first half. Blakely had a dominating performance for Cosby and Gibbs dominated for PF. Blakely hit two free throws with 2 sec left to win the game for Cosby. One of the best high school games I have seen in a while. Good luck to Cosby, hope ya'll win the whole thing.
  23. Thanks Sports Guy. It is always a big win, when PF beats GP. Final score 61-48. PF put together one of most complete games of season. Tough week for PF, first they get the #1 ranked Cosby Eagles (who will come in ready to play after only loss was to PF), Rutledge Tues and Union Fri. PF needs to win Tues and Fri to stay in district hunt.
