  1. How about having a 16 team state tournament. You take the top two teams from each region in boys and girls. You have two sites (east and west) for the "sweet sixteen" and "elite eight" games. The boys and girls play at the same site thurs-sat. first week. Then you come together the next weekend and have a Final Four with both boys and girls in Murfreesboro on Fri and Sat. This allows more teams to compete in the state tournament, without watering down the teams. It plays both boys and girls at the same site and is on the weekend to help attendance. It also allows you to rotate which regions match up in the first round so that you do not have to play the same teams every year as it now is in the substate games. Also you are playing at a nuetral site in the sweet sixteen and teams whose gym is not large enough don't have to worry about not being able to host a sub-state game. What does everyone think?
  2. I think GP and C-D play each other fri. night. I'm not sure where it is at though. Big game for Rutledge fri. A win on the road against a top team would make them the favorite to win the district. With a win over SG and C-D already and the overall tiebreaker for the district.
  3. Chucky beats PF 51-50 in OT. King hit a tough shot with 6 sec left to win the game for C-D. GP beats CC by 12 on the road. Union beats WG by about 50. another great night in 2AA. This should make for a lot of fun come tournament time.
  4. Thanks, and yes I am from PF. I was just wondering, I saw where they have not been winning, but I figured that at a single A school they must have a lot of football players that are their best basketball players. I know they have been good in the past and I was just wondering how they are supposed to be this year. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Just wondering if anyone had any info on DCA.
  6. What is Union's record now. I expected, still expect, them to contend in the district. are they having some early season troubles?
  7. Clinton beat pigeon forge last night 90-70. Whitt had 38 for Clinton. Clinton was very athletic and caused too much pressure for the young Tigers. PF battled hard all night, but couldn't ever make the big run. Congratulations to the dragons and good luck.
  8. Pigeon Forge graduated six of its top eight. Only one starter returns from last years team.
  9. Pigeon Forge beats Heritage 72 - 63 @ Heritage in Hall of Fame action.
  10. James Rauhuff is the real deal. His numbers aren't great, but that has to do with the offense being run. Pigeon Forge is running the veer, therefore he has been more of a running threat this year (leads the team in rushing TD). He also had over 200 yards rushing against Lenoir City. Even in this offense he has thrown for over 100 yards in the last couple of games. He doesn't get much hype, but he is as good as any quarterback in the area. Josh Bugh has had a good year at RB and LB. He has had to miss a few games due to injury. Brandon Guidry is a sophomore RB that has really stepped up in the place of Bugh when he was injured. Guy Reppart and Adam Griffin are the two best lineman. Both are exceptionally strong and have a chance to play college football. JoJo Ryan is the best receiver and the fastest guy on the time. Noone can cover him 1 on 1. He can fly and he runs perfect routes.
  11. This is correct. The three way tie breaker is overall record. If Rutledge beats PF and Seymour beats Union, then Union is out. Looks like the Patriots have to root for the Tigers. If Pf beats Rutledge, then PF is 3 and Union is 4.
