  1. Congrats to 125-Jones 130-Townsend 135-Treloar 140-Nick Newton 152-Vinson 215-Brett J On 1st round wins!
  2. Have you ever been to Beas? /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> It's better than the food at the round house /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  3. No I might not get there until Thur. Equipment/employee problems.
  4. That proves that some of them are blind! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  5. Very seldom is a match that ends in a pin best match. I would have given it to the 152 match.
  6. Wow, you took a survey! I'm sure my % is closer than yours. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Look BB I have no beef with the Bear Clan. It's how I feel and others feel the same way. If you want to make me the whipping boy, so be it. I stated what folks are saying in the other parts of the State. The Bear Clan are the Kings of D-I wrestling but we humble, bumble bumkins are allowed to state our humble beliefs and others. I'm sorry you think the rest of the STATE shouldn't have a chance to show case our great sport..
  7. Good Luck Ms Emilii Russell. It's been a pleasure to watch you over the last 3 years. You are a hard working grappler and a fine young woman. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. As Ghouse said- I remember McCallie moving wrestlers around a few years ago to win the Traditional State. It cost McCallie a future wrestler in the name of Manly. I don't see the D-1 teams doing this. It seams to be a D-II thing.
  9. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Come on Feller's be kind just trying to be a voice out in the wilderness of TN wrestling. Not everyone can live in the land of "Milk and Honey" of TN Wrestling. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> When my family moved to Kingsport and my oldest was going undefeated in AAU. I knew that came from his time on Chattanooga area mats. It is my fav area in TN but again just telling how the other 80% of the state feels.
  10. I think it is like the Bible. It may say the same thing but folks seam to have lot's of war's over it. I'm sure it wasn't the good things the times said it was the items that followed like these!
  11. Way to state the obvious cajun breath! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Since I have lived and had son's wrestle in Chattanooga, Kingsport, Knoxville and Hendersonville. I might have a perspective that your lacking. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> I might be Don Quixote on this subject but I'm stating a gripe from other parts of the state I have hear over the last 10 years.
  12. RMC I agree Chattanooga area is the heart of TN wrestling and have friends at Baylor, McCallie and other schools in that area. However how is TN Wrestling to grow in other parts of the state if no other area ever gets a chance to show what a great sport it is. then the one coach that has helped grow it outside of Choo-Choo town gets bashed in the Chatt press. IMHO-SAD! /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  13. The other sad thing is he is attacking a coach that helped build a non traditional program that came from no where. When I was stationed at Ft campbell in the early 90's. I remember hearing that they were starting feeder programs for wrestling. I though how great. Year's later my young grapplers wer facing those same young men. I think you have a case of coach bashing that if it was being directed at the Chattanooga area Tribes folks would be on here screaming "FOUL". Not a Clarksville High Lover but respect what they have done and their coach for his efforts. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I think it needs to be moved to a larger Venue like Austin Peay but if they can't make it work give Vandy, MTSU or another site their chance.
  14. Wow, talking about a one sided. With a cho-choo town twist. The comments ??” complaints, if you will ??” included Jordan enjoying a decided home-gym advantage, and they went beyond Clarksville wrestlers sleeping in their own beds, dressing in their own locker room or warming up in their own wrestling room. Isn't this what Chattanooga teams have for traditional state tournament every year? No one mentioned or seemed to envy the fact that Clarksville wrestling has a built-in fundraiser. Don't locale Chattanooga teams use the traditional state tournament for the same thing? The complaints had to do with the facts that Clarksville wrestled on the same mat every time, that the chairs for Clarksville??™s team were the only ones of eight sets that were padded, and that Jordan, through facial expressions or even hand gestures, often incited his team??™s fans when he??™d make numerous trips to the table to question a call by the referee working his meet. Surprisingly, no one even mentioned his occasional use of injury time for a tired wrestler. I guess he has never been to Father Ryan Tourney! Then Jordan publicly deride referees, especially those from Chattanooga, although that Chattanooga group is generally acclaimed to have several of the state??™s best. Those comments, coming after his team lost to Cleveland, included the phrase ???level playing field,??? and stopped just short of saying that Chattanooga referees cheated. That made some folks mad and drew for him a one-day suspension from his school. There are refs that call it one sided. We??™re likely talking about a deep and burning desire with Jordan to compete with the Bradley Centrals, the Clevelands, the Ooltewahs and the Soddy-Daisys. There is nothing wrong to compete with and, if you??™re good enough, beat such teams. Those teams, however, have won the majority of the Class AAA state duals championships and yet were silent for years about wanting a ???level playing field.??? I guess he does not know about Franklin, Clarksville or the othrs who have been in the race So do you throw away 10 years of hard work? The complaints have been aired and obviously noted. But don??™t let one coach??™s knee-jerk reaction to relatively mild criticisms tear down what a community has spent a decade forging into a model of success. The whole matter is easily resolved. The TSSAA likes having the tournament at Clarksville, and it??™s clear that the folks put on a fine show. Just make some subtle adjustments so there is not even a hint of home-gym advantage. Like traditional state tournament is for Chattanooga/Bradley County Teams. There is plenty of interest in level playing fields and that interest should supersede one man??™s somewhat stilted perspective of right and wrong. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  15. It's from all the dirt they eat!
  16. Read the Region 8 Champ thread I started. His coach goes into detail. They had a lot of tough things happen at Beech and Johnny missed a week of practice being beside the hospital bed of his best friend all week. The friends girlfriend died in the wreck. This is a very physical sport but also mental. I wish him the best and he had a great season that was toped off by being choosen for the Midstate team.
  17. Thanks -SMck /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. It helps when you have the facts. thanks It just looked strange!
  19. Congrats to Region 8 MTJ Bears on a great year and good luck in their new Region next year. You proved you are the best dual team in the region this year. However, Hendersonville did beat Clarksville head to head this year so GHouse give them some pts for that. LOl
  20. Good Luck COMMANDOS! AND THE REST OF LAST YEAR REGION 8 GRAPPLERS!
  21. That was the real question. The part about head to head criteria. thanks
  22. Ok wrestling Obi-Wan Kenobi's, Lets talk about the 125lb bracket! How is Joseph Jones, sitting in the #2 spot and Tee Boone (ND, 12) - 2nd @ 125, 2008; 2nd @ 112, 2007; 3rd @ 103, 2006, Ethan Farinella (Farr, 11) - 6th @ 103, 2007 are all in the top bracket?
  23. Looks like Cookeville will have a better chance to make the state duals: blink: What will regions do about the number of matches? How many do they have to wrestle? Dickson to Clarksville isn't a short trip for a match. I see parents having a hard time getting to some matches after work because of the size of the new region.
