    Fouls

It it just me or are a bunch of fouls being called in these early games. I check the box scores and see teams shooting 35 FT's and three guys fouling out. Are the refs trying to make some kind of point. This isn't much fun to watch.
  2. Senior Adam Tomlinson had 34 Tuesday as Friendship defeated Monterey 59-45. He had three 3-pointers in the first quarter and 20 of Friendship's 25 points at the half.
  3. There's great balance in 7AAA. You have to be ready to go every night out. Defending the homecourt will be big for everybody. Where is the district tournament this year?
  4. Lebanon hit 19 of 23 free throws Saturday and defeated Clarksville NW 50-37. Megan Thompson had 20 for the Devilettes -- April Thomas had 16 for NW. Lebanon is 3-0, NW falls to 0-5. Lebanon is idle until hosting Cookeville Friday, Dec. 6 in a District 7AAA contest.
  5. Any details on FRA's blowout win over Friendship? Top scorers, did FRA get out early?
  6. Wilson Central gutted out a tough 39-23 victory over Blackman High Tuesday, Nov. 26 in the home opener. WCHS (3-0) took a 12-5 lead after one quarter and led 24-13 at the half. Central dominated the boards, out-rebounding Blackman 43-18. Kellie O'Connell led WCHS with nine points. Kelly Gassie added eight and 11 rebounds. [Edited by Eddie on 11-29-02 10:08A]
  7. I've got a Wilson A2000 XL and and 2800 (1st base mitt). Both were broken in with shaving cream and a rubber mallet. They are over 15 years old and still in great shape -- I wish I was in as good a shape as those gloves.

19 Blue Devils scored and I think your brother did as well. For some of the details -- check the sports page on www.wilsonworld.com.
  9. Greg is a GA on the UT Lady Vols staff. This was a great opportunity for him -- he wants to eventually get a head coaching job at the college level. Friendship hired boys assistant Jonathan Hemingway to take his place. FCS got a good win Monday night at home over Red Boiling Springs.

    Lebanon Bball

Snake: Coach Hutto is playing three teams (15 guys). I saw them in the jamboree last Thursday and it makes you dizzy. They are pushing the ball every chance they get and are defending all over the floor. I think the district is going to be tough as usual -- I'm hearing good things out of Blackman. How is school and hoops going for you?
  11. Turner was the best back I saw all season. He got tough yards and never took a loss. He's got plenty of speed and as far as his size goes -- I never saw anyone get a clean shot on him. Someone will take a chance on him and come up with quite a find.
  12. Boyd Christian led FCS 18-0 at the half; score still 18-0 with 4:33 to go in the third qtr.
  13. QB Justin Gaines accounted for all 6 TD's Friday as Friendship defeated Whitwell 42-15. He scored on runs of 59, 59 & 21 -- and threw for scores of 10, 48 and 98. The last two of which went to Adam Tomlinson. The 98 was a fade out of his own endzone -- Tomlinson went up and got it and out ran the defender. Gaines rushed 16 times for 201, completed 5-of-10 for 188, O interceptions. FCS 8-3, Whitwell 6-5. FCS at 10-1 Boyd Buchanan next week.
  14. Please -- tell me her size and what position she plays.
  15. Josh Stringfellow of Beech kicked a 50-yarder earlier this season against Hendersonville (on Oct. 4).
  16. How big is she -- and what position does she play?
  17. The Pearl-Cohn vs. Wilson Central game was moved to Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7 PM at Central.
  18. Is kick-off at 7 or 7:30 Friday?
  19. PLEASE OFFER A PRAYER FOR MICHAEL AND HIS FAMILY -- Here's the story as of Tuesday AM: A search is under way for Cumberland University football player Michael Bochette, 20. A native of Mt. Juliet, Bochette has been missing since Sunday. His parents notified authorities Sunday night indicating it was out of character for the dean's list student to be gone without leaving word. Bochette's dog was found Monday at a boat dock on Percy Priest Lake. The dog refused to leave the boat dock for several hours. Bochette earned all-state honors as a fullback / linebacker at Mt. Juliet High School. He played linebacker for Cumberland University as a freshman but was moved to offense this season where he had worked his way into the rotation at fullback.
  20. The way the play was explained to me by an ex-ref, #53 of Gallatin could NOT catch a forward pass -- even if the ball was thrown behind the line of scrimmage. He could catch a lateral (basically a running play) if he was even with or behind the QB and then advance the ball. Players with #'s 1-49 and 80-99 are the only ones eligible to legally catch a forward pass. This guy has been out of officiating for a couple of years, but his explanation sounded solid to me.
  21. The speed sweep for Lebanon was to #4 A.J. Stewart for 52-yards. #6 Devin Adams scored on the next play from 8-yds. out. Adams finished with 55-yds. on 12. Gallatin DE Matt Robinson had an outstanding game with at least three QB sacks and a fumble recovery. GHS is very fast on defense, very big on offense.
  22. People can talk all they want about the Titans and the way they have played the past couple of years -- but the best decision they ever made was bypassing Moss in the draft and going instead with Kevin Dyson. What a nightmare Moss would have been in Nashville. He was a trouble maker in college and the beat goes on in the NFL.

    congrats to lebanon

Lebanon has roughly 2500 seats on each side. Concrete stadium with wooden bench-style seats so bring your cushions. If you're looking for a pre-game meal -- there's a new Ryan's Steakhouse less than two blocks from the stadium.
