  1. Greenbrier....they will win, but maybe not as easy as most seem to think.
  2. 7AA is full of weirdness. Brad West isn't MVP. Not to mention the 4th and 5th place teams only combine for 1 player on the all district team, yet the 6th and 7th place teams get 5 players. How weird. Oh well, I don't know much about the lesser known players in 7AA anyhow, so I guess I don't know what I'm complaining about....it just all seems strange.
  3. When do the 7AA coaches vote on this anyway?
  4. Looks like Brown has an edge. This is for muffin: Without Brown, York loses to Jackson by 13. With her they win by 14. Without Brown, York loses to Upperman by 15. With her those only lose by 2. Without Brown, York loses to Cannon by 17. With her they win by 2. Without Brown, York loses to Livingston by 11. With her they win by 5. If I'm not mistaken, all of this is correct...but I have only seen her play a few times this season so correct me if I'm wrong. She's also leading the state in scoring and the upper-cumberland in boards....
  5. I honestly think we are blessed with the most talented district in the state. So much talent to go around....the only thing I am sure of is that Johnny Lee will be MVP.
  6. It has to be Gilliam, West, or Ledbetter. I would have to say Ledbetter is by far the most talented player in the district. And I read an article from the Herald-Citizen the other night that said the scoring went like this.... YAI: Derrick Ledbetter 19, Bryant Tipton 15, Blakely Garrett 10, Burke 9, Stockton 9, Buck 5, Beaty 2. UHS: Jordan Case 18, Alan Asberry 15, Dustin Burgess 14, Trey Gilliam 10, Jones 9, Palmer 3, York 2. 10 points is not an MVP performance, but maybe he had an off night. After all of this being said, Ledbetter is the most talented baller in the district, but my vote would still go with Brad West because he has lead his team to finish first in the district (if i'm not mistaken). Good luck to all of the 7AA teams in the region tounament....
  7. No muffin, you are usually always right...but this is one time you have it wrong. Just because Mead is the best player on the best team does not make her the most valuable player in the district. Look at York's record without Brown and you can't take away the fact that she leads the state in scoring and leads the Upper-Cumberland in rebounds.
  8. I think 8AA has a great chance to get 2 teams in the state tournament this year. 7AA is stronger than last year, but 8AA is still far superior.....it will all come down to what happens at sub-state.
  9. This is pretty easy if you ask me, Johnny Lee.
  10. The last time I watched her play, Brown scored 35 when York played Hume-Fogg. I was not let down this time. Brown has the most complete game in the state. She can hardly be stopped when she posts up and she has a mid-range jump shot better than that of most boys in the state. Not to mention that at 6'2, she can shoot 3's better than most guards in the district.
  11. Yes and maybe pigs will magically sprout wings and fly!
  12. UHHHHHHH Upperman just beat Westview.
  13. I think that game was a fluke. No way Smith is even close to being as good as York, or as good as Upperman. LA will blow out everybody they play in district play this year.
  14. Should be a good game. Livingston was picked to finish first in the district with 35 votes and York was picked to finish second in the district with 34 votes. LA wins this one by 9.
