  1. You make it sound like I said something horrible..."at least pull out a map before posting such things." I went to CoachT and searched for Memphis schools and Germantown was nowhere to be found...Sorry I didn't take a field trip to be sure. Fine..Germantown is part of Memphis. One team in the State Finals. Why are we talking about football??? Well, I guess basketball season is over now. WaCo's got my back.
  2. Congrats from a Clinton Dragon. It's always good to see an East Tennessee team bring home the ball. Wish we could be enjoying it with you. Oh well, you know how that goes. Actually, I guess you don't right now. Anyway, enjoy it and good luck next year.
  3. It doesn't list Germantown as being in Memphis. It seems like East Tennessee is holding it's own against the rest of the state. Fulton beat Covington 36-9. Boyd Buchanan beat Donelson Christian Academy 26-3. Morristown West made a State Championship appearance against Hillsboro but was spanked 21-0. Morristown West somehow beat out Maryville, but Maryville could have beaten just about any team in the state, and they have the last 3 years. Austin-East had a great year, getting beat out in the tourney by eventual State winners Fulton. If you go to CoachT and search for the schools in Memphis, none of their schools were in a State Finals game. So I can argue with you about football. Leave us something..Memphis bullies
  4. First of all, if you're going to attack me, please spell the name right...OrangeCrush. Welp, I guess since my team lost I should never be allowed on CoachT again, right???? We lost, losing is a part of life. I guess you won't be posting either since your Indians got it handed to them . I didn't even say anything bad about them.
  5. Hey Memphis, you're supposedly the best at basketball...but where are you at other sports?? Farragut (State Champs) AND Bearden were in the State Championship in soccer, and Farragut was 48-1 (only loss to Germantown) in baseball, State Champs and was #2 in the country. What's wrong, can play anything else except basketball??? P.S....I'm just kidding guys. I don't follow soccer or baseball (as much as I used to). I know this would ruffle some feathers though.
  6. I was a little dissapointed in our (Clinton) section...a lot didn't show up that I had talked to. Of course, after the couple of minutes we didn't have a whole lot to cheer about. The cops kept coming over to us and threatening to kick us all out because the parents below said someone was cussing. I know I wasn't, and I didn't hear anybody else. They were just mad because they coudln't enjoy the game in peace. Hey Murray...you know the only thing I heard??? "I'M TELLLLIN ." Why wasn't White Station's fans going nuts??? Are they just used to winning? Even when Prince dunked or someone did something good, most of them weren't even standing up.
  7. Maybe the reason they didn't make it out of District is because they've been told all their lives how good they are and they're the best, and they don't play team ball. Teamwork and good passing is a nice thing to have in a player. I saw White Station pass and they were unselfish, maybe that's why they've made it to the state the last 3 years and these other teams with more "talent" haven't. Apparently White Station is the best in Memphis, they're the team that's been in the Finals for the last 3 years, if not more. I would take Prince over Jamont Gordon because I saw Prince pass. Is he related to Tayshaun Prince??? Same body type, left handed...they look just alike. I saw a picture of Prince dunking at Millington, and I was expecting him to be like 6'8, 240...he looked huge in the picture. This was my first experience watching White Station, and you all lived up to the hype. I was impressed. I still hope JNS wins it though.
  8. :justwrestle: Wooo, that was the funniest thing that I've read on this site. That tops the thing that someone said about the head of TSSAA and his wife. I can see him in one of those little colored plastic chairs that Kindergarteners sit in, with apple juice in one of those spill-proof cups. Keep it up... Go JNS Indians....
  9. "so have fun mocking the teams you beat, especially the ones who are better than you..." Bud, all I have to say "SCOREBOARD, SCOREBOARD, SCOREBOARD"
  10. Hey man, I've got your back. Us ET people have to stick together now especially since there is only 2 teams from here left..Unaka and Grace, and only one of them can win.
  11. So is that how it goes at BC?? When they win it's because their players are the best in the state, but when they lose it's the refs fault?
  12. I think their coach's last name is Marsh. I guess that shows you never were good at homework.
  13. I just found some interesting stats on the TSSAA website. Bradley Central is supposed to be a great 3-point shooting team. They only hit 4-15 against the Dragons, better than our 3-16. They missed close to half of there free throws, at 15-27. If we hit our 3's, it's a different game. What makes me sick is they had more points inside than we did, 30-24. They had 23 points off turnovers to our 13. They only had 4 fast break points...They are supposed to be the best team at running in the state. The reason we lost is they took of us out of our game. We couldn't get it down low, we didn't get many open shots and we had a lot of turnovers from their press. An overall good game by BC.
  14. I was surprised we were beaten by 15...what can I say??? BC stopped us cold. I was actually surprised by all the 1st round games. Especially JNS and Glencliff. Oh well, now that my Dragons are out, go JNS Indians!!
  15. True...I'm not saying I hope he doesn't succeed. That's not my style. I hope he does have success, I hope he does get freshman of the year wherever he goes to school. I hope he makes it to the NBA and dunks on Shaq or Mutumbo. I'll be the first to buy that poster. But I just wasn't that impressed last night, that's all I was saying. Good luck Jamont Gordon. By the way...when I said when he gets to the next level the competition will be better, I knew his team will be better also, but if he tries to do it all himself he won't be worth a flip. Once again, good luck!!! keithr...are you cracking on the Delk's because they're not transferring, because they have a good team where they have a good shot at winning State??? Glencliff had no chance last night, I'm not saying that's the only reason he's leaving. If I were the Delk's, I would be happy in the position I'm at.
  16. I'm sure one of the Chicago teams we played were faster, but you weren't the fastest team I've seen as a fan all year. Science Hill was, they ran the entire game. The Dragons yesterday just came out uninspired. I still say JNS wins, it just seems they have more athletes, and they are pretty fast too. Wish I could be there.
  17. It's hard to believe Hamilton had more talent than WS...Hamilton's strength is 39th..and Memphis East??? Who's ranked 47th??? I can believe Raliegh-Egypt, being ranked 1st but they're still in AA. It seems like you're just throwing in teams and saying they're more talented than WS to make it seem like Memphis is that competitive. Our Region had Maryville, Farragut, Bearden...also top 10 teams in the state at one point. Don't think that Memphis is the only basketball region in the state.
  18. Umm, Juice, I couldn't understand half the things you said but I think I know what you mean. Maybe he "WENT OFF IN THA 4TH" because JNS put in their scrubnuts at the end of the game. "HE DID THING I HAVN'T EVER SEEN IN A HIGH SCHOOL GAME"..."THEN HE STOLE THA BALL AND DID A PASS THA WAS KRAZY ,,AND NEXT TRIP DOWN THA COURT SOMEONE WHEN UP FOR A SHOT AND HE SENT IT 2 HALF COURT"...You've never seen someone steal a ball and make a nice pass??? Or block a shot??? Those things are fundamental things that happen in games, it seems like they are "absolutely amazing plays" just because they were made by Jamont Gordon. If you're down by 30, and he's still trying to "DRIPPED THREW SOMEONES LEGS,, AND HE TRIED TRIED 2 THROW THA BALL OFF THA BACKBOARD 2 HIMSELF AND DUNK IT,, WHICH HE MISS JUS BY A LITTLE (I think he meant he tried to dribble through someone's legs)", that shows a player who is trying to do it all and have the glory and apparently it's not working since they are losing that bad. I don't know anything about his grades or attitude. Are his grades good enough to get to a Memphis or other D1 school like that. You've also got to figure, when he gets to college, every team he plays will be like JNS. They will be able to run, and play half-court offense. They're will be better defenders who can shut him down by themselves. I'm sure Glencliff had success playing sub-par teams, but if Jamont can't handle the defense of prime-time players, like at JNS, he won't have success later on. "IT WAS ONE OF THA BEST GAME I SEEN IT A LONG TIME" What?? If you're a JNS Indian, I would agree with that. But if you're talking about Gordon's game, I would have to say, what?? Watching Jamont Gordon ("the best player in the state") have success against the 2nd line of a team is not what I would call a good game. And yes, the 1st team of JNS shut him down. They had at least 2 blocks on Gordon alone, one was called for a foul. His shot selection was awful, and all he could do was dribble around and pass. If he did have success against the Delk's it was because they were tired after running all over him and his team, up and down the court over and over again.
  19. I'm not involved in 1a at all, but I have been reading this thread and I bet there a lot of people feeling stupid now. I'm not going to mention any names (CPAster and wardy especially). It seems as if it is Unaka and Grace will be in the Finals. A lot of people on here said Grace and Temple wouldn't win a game. "What I can tell you is that Grace does not have the team to make it to the SHIP." Wow, what a gawdy statement. I guess none of you will be making any comments on here, except to attack, but I don't care. I just think it's funny that most of you were ABSOLUTELY SURE that Grace wouldn't even make it to the 2nd round, but here they are in the Championship. Good luck Unaka and Alcoa, bring it back home to ET.
  20. That would be fine with me, but I'll too busy at UT next year to enjoy. We had our chances to get back in the game, but costly turnovers, missed shots, and inexperience shot us in the foot. I'm happy we got this far, but I'm not satisfied with the ending. When we got to District, I thought "Let's just win the District, I'll be happy." We played Karns at Karns for the District, who hadn't been beaten at home all year. We hadnt beaten them at their place in 5 years, but we beat them this year. We got to Region and beat William Blount by 3 (I had to work), then got paired up with Maryville in the next bracket. They were ranked 7th in the state, so no one expected us to beat them. We beat them by 1 on a last second lay-in by Tevah. So we got to Region Championship and I thought "Let's just win Region, we'll be happy enough and it doesn't matter what happens in Sub-State." We beat Farragut by 3 in overtime. Science Hill was our next opponent, at home. I thought "Let's just win this game, and we'll be happy." So we won, then we went to State. Then we thought of how great it would be to win the gold ball, then we played BC. That's the end. That's why we posted so much in here, no one expected us to get this far. And we were proud and we were fired up. We were ready to take it to the #2 team in the state, since we had already beaten a #4 and 2 #7's. It just didn't happen for us. We actually had a team 2 years ago that should have went to state. That team was probably better than this year's team. We had AJ, Tevah, Mykail as sophomores. Jesse Rodd at one time was ranked as the #1 forward in the state (I think, at least in ET). Jerrel Beamon was a fast ball handler who could shoot, Blake Sharp was a football player who could handle and shoot as well. Travis Morrow was a 6'7 or 6'8 senior who played solid as a center. And Travis Marlow single-handedly beat Oak Ridge twice his senior year as a point guard. We just didn't take care of business in the 1st Round of Region. I was kind of dissapointed by the OrangeCrush...Nobody behind the 3rd row would yell and we were shorthanded as well with our ShowChoir in Florida. What did you mean by "The Bears enjoyed the "Orange Crush" last night"? Mykail has a hot temper, that's why he lost it last night, because he was frustrated and didn't like how things were going. How about we keep sarcastic little sayings (Draggins) out of it, you beat us and our season is over and we are at home now...why add more to it?
  21. I'm supposed to believe and trust a few Jamont Gordon fans that he is the best in the state, when I saw his performance with my own eyes last night??? He is the best in the state because more colleges are looking at him than Reginald Delk?? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Gordon shouldn't be ranked as one of the best, but after last night's performance I wouldn't have him as the top Junior. Someone said a week ago "Stop Gordon and you stop Glencliff, but no one has been able to do it yet" I saw that exact thing happen last night. Even when it was one on one with Gordon against whoever, he didn't make much of anything happen. I saw on more than one occasion him do a spin-move and bounce the ball of his foot, or have the ball get away from him. As a great player, no less #1 in the state, you have to make things happen for your team. Even when people are guarding you. The Jamont Gordon Colts...I mean Glencliff Colts just ran into a better TEAM last night. And you can argue all you want, but I don't care. I would pick either one of the Delks over Gordon. And don't say it was because JNS could key on him, because there are 4 other players on the court. The best players I know of also make their teammates look better, but Gordon didn't do that last night. Big games are when stars are supposed to shine, right??? The Delks and JNS shined last night.
  22. There's not much I can say about this game. We lost. I did not underestimate, I guess I just figured our team would come out on fire like we have the last 2 weeks. We came out flat, and mostly uninspired. Not to take anything away from BC, they're are a great team and have a chance to take it all the way. We got behind early and could not recover. I was waiting on the 3rd quarter run, we felt it coming but it was squashed by their discipline. I did enjoy the dunks that T came through with for us. I felt frustrated because there were so many things we can do, but couldn't against the Bears. This team just shut us down and didn't allow us back into the game. The only call I disagreed with majorly was the 4th and 5th foul on Mykail. He drove in, was called for a charge but the guy was still on his feet. He punched the ball out of Mykail's hand seconds after the foul as if he had blocked it, and Mykail retaliated with an elbow. I believe Vibbert should have been given a T for it, but not only was the defender moving (not a charge), he initiated the conflict with a dead ball penalty (in my opinion). Another charge was called when a player took a dive and yelled...clearly an acting job but he got away with it. Congrats to the Bears on their convincing win, but you might not like what you've advanced to. JNS is the most exciting team I've seen play this year. The Delk twins and Ramon Williams can't be stopped. If you stop their penetration (didn't happen much against Glencliff), Reginald Delk is open for the three. I saw Jamont Gordon play (not very impressed), JP Prince (impressed), and the Delk's play. I thought the Delk's had a better all around game than the others, and would be choice to start a team. I hope JNS takes it to BC and beats WS/WC in the title game. Good luck JNS.
