Well they won't be towards the top of the list, but they are pretty good players on our team and in district 7-a. Brett Roddy RHP/1B, and Travis Matthews RHP are pretty good sophmores. Roddy bats 5th for our team and he's a pretty good hitter. Last year he batted about .350 with 3 home runs, not to bad for a freshman. He's also a pretty good pitcher, he throws about 90mph and has a curve ball at times. Matthews basically can only pitch. He throws about 85mph with a good breaking ball and has movement on every pitch he throws.

Well we have about 4 or 5 starters that will pitch and three that will pitch in the big games. Lance Mason, Josh Wright, and Brett Roddy will start and pitch in the big games. Travis Matthews and Ernie Rigney will also do alot of pitching in our none district games. We also have a few freshman will do some pitching but they don't have any experience so they will basically just pitch in blow outs if there are any.We will probably pitch Mason against RBS and Roddy against Montery. Josh Wright has been in Florida so he hasn't even really thrown yet.

Well If I've learned one thing from this column it is that talk it cheap so I am just going to quit talking.Muffin we'll never know who would have won, you might have beat us a few games earlier 18-0 but I believe we beat you all pretty good up at pickett two years in a row, so its possible we would have won. Your right brooks you did help us and I'm glad I was playing for you instead of my mom my sophmore year. I don't hold a grudge towards you because whats done is done, I was out done by those other guys anyway. I kinda thought you was polesit and was trying to get a rise out of me is why I said half that stuff. Thanks for helpin everyone.

Rbs congrats on the big win, I didn't see anyone beating monterey in district 7-A, looks like I was wrong. I look forward to playing both teams.

Whatever polesit, brooks ain't the coach, we didn't play so we don't know who would have won, although I have already said rbs would have won. I got nothing more to say to you.

Yeah muffin, we forfeited to rbs last year in the district championship, thanks brooks for that one. He's the one who came up with that great idea.

Polesit, whether I stink or not, I'm the catcher on this team and I could care less what you think or say about me, I'm a 4 year starter, can you say that about yourself? To answer muffins question, yeah we will play, it rained here all day and night yesterday, we worked on the field for three hours but it didn't do a bit of good. The sun hasn't been out here since monday so it just wouldn't dry out. And this is the first rain out we have had here, clarkrange called the other rain out on tuesday and I think they just called it because they had some players sick and didn't have enough to play. The only other game we cancelled was against york up here and that was because our baskettball team was good enough to make it to the state tournament and everyone wanted to go watch them play.Polesit I'll take care of you on the field, it may not be with my catching, but I'll do it with my bat.If you are lucky enough to be on the field. I don't know what your trying to prove by doggin on my catching, I never said I was good at it. You just like stiring up trouble.Either you are brooks or you like kissing his butt.

Polesit, I never said he didn't know his baseball, and I don't care if he played college or if he played triple a. The coach we got now played for crossville, they are triple a too, and he could have played college ball too, but the school that wanted him stunk so he turned them down. Our baseball team would have been good with or without brooks cherry. I didn't say he didn't know his baseball, but if he wanted to be a baseball coach he should have went and got a teachers degree instead of going to be a trainer. You just set back and watch us this year bud and then you will see how we do without him. Good luck to every one in 7 a except whoever this polesit guy is.

Mr. Polesit, you have no idea how many wins we had year before last, we didn't make it to the region year before last, we made it last year which is probably farther than you made it. We havewon 3/4 of our games the last two years, winning atleast 14 games each year. No one wins a couple of games and makes it to the region how dumb can you be to believe that. Our Coach played in high school and knows more than any other coach we had had in 4 yrs.He'll be the third best coach in the district behind looper and rbs' coach. Yeah I've held a grudge against brooks for two years, he's a trainer not a coach, and i think he needs to start acting like it.If you want to know why you go ask him yourself.

They are biting in coves and in swallow water, or atleast they will be soon. Try around some willow trees. They'll be spawning here in a couple of weeks and the swallow coves , they won't be able to resist biting.

You need help if you think we will miss Brooks. Our new coach knows just as much as Brooks did, and He coaches the same way. There won't be anything to miss with Brooks. Maybe with him gone Clay Co. will be forced to come to pickett and play an away game against us because they haven't had to in two years. Good luck to everyone in 7 and 8 A.

1. Pickett Co. They have basically all of there core players back. A better fielding team than they had last year. And they have the 17 plsyers this year and all of them can basically play every position. This years seniors have had a different coach every year we have played so the coaching won't have much to do with it but the coach we have is probably the best I have ever player for. Basically have 4 pitchers that can go out and get a win, may have the best and deepest rotation in the district 2. Montery The got the best coach in the district, he always has them ready. Philips is a great player and so is Davy, also heard they got a transver from cookeville that is pretty good. They always have great hitting. 3. Clay Co. McCleren may be one of the best pitchers in the district. Didn't really lose anyone from last years team. The coach is always the killer with this team, he has no clue what he is doing. 4. RBS With Heady they are a contended, without him they aren't much. They've got a good coach so that helps. I think they just lost too much from last years team. 5. Hermitage Springs New and improved coach. They look alot better than they were last year but don't have the power to hang with the top 4. 6. Clarkrange Lets face it they were only half good because of Bowman last year, and with him gone they just don't have enough. Heck they lost to HS, so way to go Hermitage Springs. Just my Opinion, I hope I didn't upset anyone

So who is going to win the district this year? I'm going to have to go with pickett co. They are back with nearly everyone from last year, their big bats are all back and all there pitchers are back. No, to many people's disappointment bailey won't be playing , darn (yeah right). Lance Mason, Josh Wright and Brett Roddy should be enough pitching to keep pickett in games, I don't think any other team in the district can go 4 or 5 deep in there rotation. With most of our players back and alot of new additions to the team besides just freshman, I look for pickett to win the district. Montery a close second, looper will them ready and contending don't break your hand again phillips. Clay Co. third just because their coach has no clue what he is doing. Rbs fourth because they just lost too much, although heady is good, I hope he is able to play. Clarkrange and HS are going to be down at the bottom.

whoever put that unaka is going to beat pickett co. in the second round doesn't know much, and the thing about experience is crazy. Picket has got alot more experience, heck we have already beat unaka once this year, we have five seniors, and we have been to the state before. So everyone just keep looking over us and when we bring that gold ball home don't anyone start singing pickett's praises then. Temple may have got lucky when pchs played them down there but on a neutral court, with neutral refs, pickett will take care of temple and anyone else in the way of them winning the state. Pickett is battle tested and proven so everyone just set back and enjoy the ride they are fixing to take us on.First state championship in ten years, bring the glory days back guys.

Pickett Co. did lose a good pitcher in Tyler Garrett, but I don't think he was there best. Lance Mason, Jo Bailey ,and Tyler Garrett were all evenly matched. Hey I should know I caght them every game. Mason held a couple of teams to less than 5 hits and lets not forget Bailey's 2 or 3 hitter against RBS when we beat them up here.Sure Pickett loses alot but Mason and Bailey will pick up the slack and be dominant this year, you can count on it.And another thing Pickett Co.'s basketball coach is coaching them, but he knows his baseball so we'll just see how terible they are.

I'll give you this Heady is twice the pitcher Hudson is, both are good but I don't think either are as good as Bowmen.And I'm a pickett man guys.Give bowmen some credit.

1.Pickett Co.- 8 returning starters, good pitching, 1-5 batters tuff to get out, oh yeah they got a good coach 2.RBS-Heady being out drops them to 2nd 3.Montery-lost alot but will still be good 4.Clay Co.- come on say it with me overrated 5.Clarkrange-Bowmen is good but the rest who knows 6.Hermitage Springs- same old thing

Well I don't know if a lead off hitter can be a power hitter, but Josh Wright from Pickett Co. hit .668 last year with 5 home runs and since I bat in the clean up spot behind him I expect him to do more of the same this season.
