  1. BA will obviously be at the top of DII Middle, and I do not think they will really be tested until the State Tournament, the combination of Wright and Bone will propel them to State for the fourth year in a row. BGA is far weaker than they have been in the past, expect them to contend for a number three seed, there is no possible way they will contend for the number 1 spot in this division, and its highly unlikely that they will receieve the number 2 spot in this region, which is in a down year with the exception of BA. Father Ryan and MBA will be right in the thick of things. Ryan has a solid, athletic team that will attempt to go to state, and their big man Langhi's performance may determine their future. MBA is far weaker than they have been in the past with no true post presence, and will rely heavily on Senior D-1 college prospect Deon Gaines to lead them to success. JP2 has an outside shot to contend for a State Tournament Bid, but with the departure of Chuck Woosely and with the apparent loss of Alvin Ingle (focusing on football), the Knights will go through somewhat of a rebuilding year, but do not be surprised to see them upset Ryan, BGA, and/or MBA. Sewanee, Webb, MTCS, Davidson Academy, and Ensworth will not be factors in the division whatsoever. The dark horse in this division that i see going to state is USN. This team has 8 Seniors, and 3 returning starters from last year, so experience is on their side. They are much improved in the post with 3 year starter in the post 6'2 Carter Dunham and 6'8 Junior Douglas Schatz who performed very well in AAU this summer. Also, they return their starting backcourt from last year, so do not take this team lightly. I am predicting this team to be the number 3 seed in this region and to make it to state. Comments/Questions?
  2. Paul Fuchs, an all midstate and all tournament team goalie from USN, has had a strong summer and is now 6'5 240 pounds of rock solid steel. To give you an idea of his determination and work ethic, instead of sleeping at 10 or 11 like everyone else, Paul never sleeps and instead stays up all night watching film from last year, while trying to figure out how to make himself better, he has not slept in months!
  3. Baylor isnt in d-2 middle, so that was a welll thought out predicition.
  4. USN came back and made it a close game after being down 10 with less than a minute and a half remaining, but it came down to the final 3 seconds of overtime, and the tigers failed to get a shot off. USN will most likely face BGA in the first round of the tournament and this will be a very interesting matchup because i can guarantee that USN is not a team that BGA wants to play after tonight's scare.
  5. You call it going against the sport of comeptitive nature, i call it smart. To run a system such as princeton runs, you have to have patience and a high iq, which the players of usn have, against ba usn wasnt trying to lose by 20 instead of 40, they were trying to slow things down because they knew that ba had better athletes than them and if they did run and gun, usn would lose by 60, but by slowing down tempo, usn gave themselves more of a chance to hang close with ba, which showed when they were down to the number one team in midstate by 8 at the start of the fourth.
  6. I'm gonna hold u to the statement about usn having no chance against bga and ryan, so when we slow the game down, and win 23-22 or somewhere around that range, i can shove it in ur face, and i also think that we will easily beat MBA in our next game. Feel free to argue against that last statement if u want, which i dont think u will want to.
  7. There are no moral victories in basketball, you win or u lose, today usn lost, but that doesnt mean there isnt positives that can be taken from this game, such as usn's ability to control the pace of the game, which helped them stay in the game, and you were the one who said usn didnt have a chance and they were within three with twenty seconds left, and as far as bga and father ryan go, i can guarantee that if usn slows down the tempo like they did tonight, it will be much closer than u think
  8. This game turned out much differently than last year's because of josh bone and the development of ba's team chemistry and brandon wright. BA proved that they are much better than BGA on this night, but they better not overlook JP2 or Father Ryan because both teams are capable of beating them on any given night. What it comes down to is that even though it is early in the region season, it will be a battle between Father Ryan, USN, MBA, BGA, and JP2 for two spots in the state tourney, and remember USN only won one game against the big 5 in the division, yet in the region tourney they knocked off number three seed father ryan and they were leading by 10 in the fourth quarter against MBA in which the winner went to state, so watch out for the Tigers.
  9. This game was close throughout with USN leading at halftime by two points, and JP2 leading at the end of the third by 1, but it game down to the fourth quarter, and although usn came back thanks to three consecutive threes by curtis mccord to cut the lead to three with 20 seconds left, jp2 made free throws and sealed the game with a layup at the buzzer, but once again usn controlled the tempo of the game and held a very potent offense under 45 points, and for all the people who said usn didnt have a chance against jp2, bet u guys were pretty scared for a second there.
  10. This game is a very interesting match-up of two solid D-2 middle teams, what are some predictions on how the game will turn out.
  11. Who won this game, wait let me rephrase that how much did Lexington win by and how many points did Mack have.
  12. USN has a good shot to beat BGA, Father Ryan, MBA, and JP 2 both times they play them if they slow down the game and execute their gameplan. IF they can hold the best player in the state to eight points, i like their chances against Deon Gaines, Julius Virgo, and Chuck Woosely
  13. Everyone who is on the BGA bandwagon is forgetting one thing: Josh Bone. He didnt play in the three games against BGA last year, and they still competed, but when you add a potential division 1 prospect at point guard who is the quarterback on the floor, you increase your chances. If BGA approaches the game like USN did, and holds Brandan Wright to less than 10 points which USN did perfectly, then they have a chance, but the depth will kill them most likely. BA 59 BGA 49
  14. Even though they were beat by twenty, the Tigers should still be positive about their performance. If they would have kept BA off of the offensive glass they could have easily stayed close down the stretch. The tigers must put this game behind them and look forward to the huge game with JP 2 this friday. This game will be huge for the Tigers as far as region records go b/c this is a winnable game against a very solid john paul team. Should be interesting to see how the Tigers respond.
  15. Yea they stalled for the whole first quarter essentially, and it worked because they were down one point to BA at the end of the first. At halftime, BA had developed a 10 point lead thanks to offensive rebounding and a couple of threes. At the beginning of the fourth, the Tigers were within 11, but they wouldnt get much closer thanks to BA's run and gun offense and a couple of sick Brandan Wright dunks. All in all USN's gameplan worked to perfection for the first three quarters, and they showed that they are going to be a force to be reckoned with in division 2 middle this year. MBA, JP2, Father Ryan, USN, BGA, and BA are going to be fighting for 3 spots, and no one is a guaranteed lock b/c BA is very beatable as USN almost proved tonight.
