  1. It's as simple as $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Sectionals mean an extra game and extra cash.
  2. I talked to Brown's dad during the Chatt Arts & Sciences game a couple weeks ago. He has NO D1 offers. None. Mars Hill is his biggest offer. I don't get it, but that's the way it is. UT has invited him to walk on.
  3. I'm a Central guy, and I don't think they're the number 1 team in AA. I think Mitchell, Liberty, Haywood, and Bolivar all pose serious matchup problems in the post. Bolivar and Mitchell also have a couple of stars in the backcourt. McMinn Central can't afford to have the types of mental lapses that they've shown in many games this season if they hope to defeat those very talented West Tennessee teams. McMinn Central's schedule is only in the low 60's. I fear that there could be a rude awakening when they get to Murfreesboro. I'll pull for them all the way, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  4. Personally, I can't wait to see him suiting up in orange next year. Pearl has said that he would start this year at UT if he was on campus.
  5. Moving it to Chattanooga would make perfect sense. A possible Howard versus McMinn Central boys matchup would be very intriguing.
  6. [There are several good male coaches coaching girls' basketball in Tennessee.
  7. Anyone know where I can find more info on the players involved? I know McMinn Central's big three of Patterson, Housley, and Lee are going to be playing, but I know very little else.
  8. He's really starting to bring it from the mound. Some college coaches need to check him out.
  9. Honna Housley is the girl from McMinn Central.
  10. True there weren't any McMinn Central players on the McD All American team. Which makes it that much more incredible that they held him to six first half points, and only 14 until he scored six more in trash time when Central was up by 15. Hard to explain that except that he played lazy when he didn't have the ball. I
  11. McMinn Central is a hard team to figure. If Armstrong and Brown are both on their game, and if they can get ten points out of Bledsoe in the paint, they win. Those are alot of 'ifs'. When they beat Alcoa in the scrimmage earlier this year, Alcoa didn't have their whole team because some of their guys were still playing football. I just hope the Chargers keep it competive.
  12. The T$$AA needs to get back to being about scholastics and athletics. The state tourney should ALWAYS be centrally located, or it should travel to the big four cities on a rotating basis. Putting it in Memphis for a prolonged period of time would put East Tennessee teams at a huge disadvantage due to fan travel or the lack thereof. JMHO
  13. McMinn Central loses three D1 signees: Honna Housley to Davidson, Fallon Lee to probably Georgia Southern although she has an offer from Pittsburgh, and Jennifer Patterson to Eastern Kentucky. Tamara Moss will probably get a lower classification schollie.
  14. Actually the word is parity.
  15. It's McMinn Central not to be confused with McMinn County. It offends people from both schools to be mistaken for the other. It's a common mistake made by folks outside our region. Central is a hard team to figure out, but they are definitely playing their best ball of the season. They manhandled Portland and held Corey Brewer to 20 points (six in the first half) in the sectional game played at Central. Sophomore Beau Brown poured in 22 despite missing most of the second half getting stitches in his eyebrow. (He had 16 at the half.)
  16. Beau Brown of McMinn Central is an up and coming sophomore who outplayed Corey Brewer in the substate despite missing most of the second half getting stitches in his eyebrow. Very little has been said about it in the East Tennessee media.
