  1. I want to know who cries more, Maddux or his senior guard Bradshaw.
  2. Very impressive win from a scrappy tough Lion team. Not sure I would call it a colossal upset based on the fact that Westwood lost at minimum 10 games this year in what outside of themselves and Booker T Washington is a traditionally weak district. Defeat Booker T, make a run through the field at Murfreesboro, return to Jackson with a gold ball and perhaps then we can talk about a movie.
  3. The past 8 years has seen 14AA all but dominate AA basketball. Past champions 2011 Liberty 2010 Bolivar defeated Liberty for the title 2007 Liberty 2006 Liberty 2005 Bolivar 2004 Bolivar defeated South Side for the title.
  4. Btw 51-43 1:42 in the 4th. BTW 58-46 Final
  5. You're right. Wish I was there. Btw is up 8with 1:53 left
  6. Central has a 41-21 lead on ridgeway after 3. Looks like the top 2 teams in Memphis may not make it out of the region.
  7. I think the case this year is that you have a lot of good teams in Memphis not just one who is above the rest. It will be interesting to see how a fairly new school in Southwind matches up against the traditional powers come tournament time seeing that they don't have a lot of post season success. Currently living in Murfreesboro I haven't been able to see any of the Memphis teams this year but it looks to be the usual crowd fighting to survive what is by far the best and most competitive basketball in the state period. I invite anyone who doesn't agree to visit the Region 8AAA tournament and then try to argue. In regards do Dyer County I hear they are very perimiter oriented and will struggle against someone with an inside presence. I've seen Siegel play and while they certainly have size inside they aren't very strong at gaurd and I am pretty sure they will cruise until they meet a team that has a good point gaurd and ultimately fall just as they did last year when they got an up close and personal look at why Chris Jones was such a highly regarded prospect. If anyone has any information about a team please feel free to share. Can't wait to see who will still be standing by Thrusday March 17th.
  8. This is off my memory so I might be off by a couple but here goes. Robert Wade - Maplewood Kedren Johnson - Marshall County Jordan Anderson - Marshall County Jay Murphy - Bolivar O'Neal Woods - Bolivar Ricky Tisdale - Bolivar Tarius Johnson - Liberty DeAndre Barnett - Liberty Cordaro Williams - Liberty Jay Murphy MVP
  9. I read in the Daily News Journal that Casey Prather the Florida signee from Jackson North Side was going to play but I don't see his name on this roster. Anyone know if he is going to play or not?
  10. I've only seen one game which happened to be their substate game which was at Cleveland. Going off one game which I saw a week ago Columbia has 3 guys that are about 6'5 but I wasn't impressed with how tough they played inside. They have a stocky guy that's about 6'1 or 6'2 who was their best rebounder and he came of the bench. Columbia's starting gaurds were tough and played good defense. One of the tall guys seems to like facing the basket and the other two weren't very aggressive until the end of the game when the two gaurds fouled out. Their point gaurd is probably their best shooter and he's not a bad ball handler by any means. Columbia used a 7-8 man rotation in their game against Cleveland. If I were a betting man I would say White Station by 12-17 if they play well. If they come out and look lethargic as they are know to do then it could be a bit of a game. If White Station plays to their abilities then they should win by at least 23-26.
  11. I've seen both teams play and I don't think Columbia has seen gaurd play the caliber of White Station. Columbia does have decent size and length but I don't think they can handle Joe Jackson, Andre Hollins and Julian Burton.
