  1. How could MBA which is a Nashville school be playing Father Ryan, another Nashville school and both from the east region be playing a substate match that is supposed to be a west vs east match? That doesn't sound right to me. What happened to ECS or some of the other Memphis schools?
  2. That's great to hear. With that great a feel for the goal it would be a shame for him not to continue to play somewhere. Congrats Brad!
  3. I was really impressed with CCS in keeping McCallie from scoring more and producing some scoring opportunities even with them playing in a defensive posture most of the game. Brad is a fantastic goalie! He really kept CCS in the game. I don't know how he does it but he has kept the CCS/McCallie game close for the past 3+ years. Does anyone know if Brad plans to play next year and where? I am looking forward to many Chattanooga teams at the state tournament and I hope that CCS will be one of them. Good luck to both teams for the rest of the season.
  4. McCallie 2:1, Kerr, Crabtree, and Smith with scores.
  5. I have seen from scrimmages what both teams have. I am not biased towards one or the other. I hope that it will be a good game and wish both sides a great year.
  6. If McMinn is close I will be surprised. Cleveland has a really good team this year. McMinn only so, so.
  7. I was at both the Farragut and Cleveland scrimmages for McCallie and was not very impressed by Farragut but Cleveland was better than I expected. McCallie didn't play all that well when they played Cleveland but Cleveland was given a PK late in the game, otherwise they really didn't produce much on the offensive 1/3. I really think that Cleveland will do very well in their division. They did possess the ball very well and have a bunch of kids that look comfortable on the ball.
  8. I think that this will be a really good game. I think that the heat up top from CCS will be hard to stop. David Wilson is hot, hot, hot, with his scoring and will be hard to keep from scoring. David Miller will eat up those guys too. Those two guys, if they play well together will put some scores up. However, if they don't play together and make some scoring opportunities together the central defense for ND will shut them down. It will be an interesting game. Maybe we can stop by there on the way home from the Bayor/McCallie match.
  9. This will be a good match up. McCallie had a great chance to beat Webb but came up short and only got the tie. Baylor is always sharp against their cross town rivals McCallie but I think that this year it's McCallie's turn to win. McCallie was a bit off playing Father Ryan this weekend but was missing one of their starting forwards to a college trip and should be at full force come Tuesday. Hopefully it will be a good match between good friends as many of the players play club ball together. Good luck to both teams.
  10. I was curious Han, who is in the goal for Notre Dame this year? It should be a strong squad I would expect with or without a strong keeper.
  11. Thanks ydet. Last time I checked Euroscoreboard there weren't any results and they didn't say when the games were either. It looks like most other years, CBHS, MUS, and ECS. I didn't know that briarcrest would keep it that close with CBHS. Makes me wonder about CBHS. Maybe they rested a bunch of guys.
  12. I think that the middle region may be the toughest region but the most up and down region also. If you look at all the games that BGA played I would say that they look the best and most consistent on paper. The loss to MBA was interesting but the only other loss was to Grissom who really smashed Father Ryan so I would expect that they are the best in the region. Both Father Ryan and MBA have had their ups and downs. Father Ryan with their big loss to Grissom and their two ties to USN and PJPII which should be much weaker teams makes me wonder about them. I did see them play McCallie and that game could have easily been a 1-0 loss to McCallie. MBA however is the giant killer with wins over BGA, Grissom, but losing to PJPII, and Bearden who had a less than stellar year for them has been really up and down. I guess that it comes down to who shows up to play at the state tournament and if they are really ready to play Wed. It will be interesting to see if USN or PJPII will get to the state tournament but I would doubt it unless they really get psyched. I don't even know if they are out yet. Just my observations without seeing most of them play but it will be fun to see who wins out.
  13. Just wondering what the schedule is like for the regional finals and what the scores are/will be.
  14. Jon26 reported it. 1-0 for Baylor. It was a real defensive battle. Very few dangerous shots by either team. Javier V. scored on a bounding cross from JB Murphy about 30 minutes or so into the match. I think that both teams came away without any major injuries and hopefully both will do well at the state tournament. Baylor wins the title and McCallie wins in that if CBHS goes undefeated in their region, McCallie would have an easier road to the finals if they can pull it off. I hope that both teams are healthy and pumped up for the state tournament and both make it to the finals.
  15. This should be a good game. I hope that both teams play under control and that there are no injuries. The pairings at state may be more advantageous for the number 2 seed out of the region as they wouldn't have to play CBHS until the final, assuming that CBHS will win out in the region and that whoever comes out of the east region will make it to the final. Those are a lot of assumptions. I don't know if it's more of an advantage to win the region or to not have to play CBHS until the final. I guess that we'll just have to see. Good luck to both teams, don't beat each other up too much! The state tournament is the REAL tournament.
  16. Congrats Baylor on a great win. Does anyone have any details on scores, assists? It will be great to have two Chattanooga teams at spring fling in Div. II. Good luck next Thursday! I just checked the Chattanoogan. Fantastic job Javier!!!!!!!! Congrats on your two scores.
  17. I think that it will be a close game. I think that Webb has most of their strength in the midfield and that they are a bit suspect in the outside backfield, just a bit too slow. I can see Chris Bach beating them outside most of the day or other players on Baylor beating them and making good crosses to Bach and Murphy to finish. If Bach's legs are okay, Baylor should win.
  18. RJL, it would have been great to see you. Maybe you can make it for some of the state tournament.
  19. I agree with you jstone. CCS is a very good team and well coached. Not many of those players play for club teams and they had some really good ball movement. They have a lot of really good athletes and should do well in the post season if they keep playing like that. I had a hard time seeing the first foul that lead to the PK and the second foul for PK was hard for me to understand too. I thought that the defender was to the outside of the player and the shot went wide. In my experience McCallie has been the team that didn't get any "breaks" with calls in the past. It would be nice to get some breaks in the state tournament. Maybe this will be their year. The game was much closer than the score and both teams looked good to me. I wish them both well in the playoffs. Both teams have cheered for each other at state before, let's hope that this year will be the same. Let's get a bunch of Chattanooga teams to the tournament and get some championships!
  20. I wouldn't expect that the CCS/McCallie game will be a high scoring game but I expect it to be a good one. Both teams have a lot of quality players but I think that the McCallie bench is stronger and that might be the difference. Last year's game was a real nailbiter, this year's might be the same. On the Bayor/McCallie rematch, let's hope that it happens. Webb does have a quality team but in my opinion is slow in the back especially wide. It would be great to see both Baylor and McCallie in the state tournament. Hopefully one of them will knock off CBHS to either get to or win the Championship. I think that they CBHS is the team to beat. We'll see.
  21. RJL294, are you planning to be there? It would be good to see you. McCallie played their best game against a quality team in the past 4 or 5 years I would say. They really controlled the game well and didn't give ND many looks at the goal at all. The first touches were great and even though Joel had both scores last night, there have been lots of scorers on this McCallie team and that's one thing that could get them to the state finals. They have lots of really good scorers but nobody is "hot" to take bad shots. They are really playing like a team and not individuals. Let's hope that there will be no more injuries in the last game of the regular season Friday.
  22. Congrats McCallie on the win and the regular season regional championship. Two welll finished goals in the first half and some other balls that from my angle were in early in the second half. Webb has some good players but didn't have many quality shots on the goal. Long shots in Div. II don't have much chance with quality keepers. They were really good on their corner kicks. So now it's between Baylor and Webb to see who makes it with McCallie to the state tournament. I hope to make it to that match. Does anyone know if King's Academy is in the region this year? Congrats again to McCallie, short shots make goals guys, keep the crosses coming. Good luck at the state tournament.
  23. This was a closely matched game with not many quality chances on goal. Like most Div II matches the defenses were tough. Ryan scored on two nicely played balls but not what I would say were high percentage shots. McCallie scored after a set piece by Cartter Kerr well struck into the far post netting. I think that this one could have gone either way. It was rainy and slick all night long, it would be interesting to know if the conditions favored one team over the other. Well played game and there could be a rematch at the state tournament.
  24. Grissom always looks good on paper and they always seems to be well coached but they tend to be beaten more times than not against quality Tennessee soccer teams as shown by last year and by their loss already to Brentwood. Brentwood may be a good team but I guess we'll see what Grissom is made of this weekend as they begin the tourney playing ECS who in the past has had some good teams. The hard part to evaluate is they play mostly AL teams and for the most part they are very weak in comparison to the competition that is found in Div. II TN for the most part.
  25. Great tournament this weekend in Huntsville. Good teams from multiple states. Who will win? Any thoughts on the weekend's games?
