gomab, Now you are talking. I see you recognized the abilities of Lee Liggins on this post. He is shooting the cover off the ball this year. He had a 23 point first half explosion on south side including seven threes. He ended up with 30+ points. He just came off a 37 point outburst against Fayette Ware on last Friday. He then posted 30 against Covington the next night. He gave it to Bolivar in Bolivar with 20 point first half. He wont be in the running for Mr. Basketball because of people with bigger names and more exposure outshining him.

Haywood is finally getting some attention in the polls. I can't believe that they are ranked above Bolivar. I know that Bolivar has defeated Haywood twice this year in hard fought games, but they are still a Great team. They beat Fayette Ware by 20 pts. in Somerville and they have beaten Northside in Jackson. Two teams that Bolivar lost to. I am glad to see West Tennessee representing in the polls because there is some serious bball being played in West TN and Memphis over the past few years. Just had to get this off my chest because people really dont talk alot about the Tomcats on this board.

btowntigers I'm glad to see that you give Haywood credit for being a good team. It's good to see that some of the Bolivar fans really know how hard our guys played in those games. I sat beside some guys from Bolivar at the game and they gave us credit as being one of the best teams in the state. I think that FW will have a hard time beating Haywood even though the game is in Somerville. Fayette Ware played Covington and only beat them by 3 in overtime.

Haywood travels to Fayette Ware tonite for a big district matchup. These two are hands down the top two teams in the district. FayetteWare is coming off a big win over Bolivar. Haywood is having a great season also. They have only lost 3 games. Two of these were to Bolivar and lost to Kingsbury early in the season. They are playing pretty well and have beat a few good teams along the way. The beat Jackson Northside by 10 in Jackson. Before you all go telling me they lost more than 3 games, I know they lost to Northside in the Hall of Fame games. They also one a game in that too but they didn't count the win or the loss, which is the rule. So who do you think will come out on top and why?

The Northside Delks are Tony's nephews. Their daddy's name is Ricky and he played at Lambuth. He is Tony's brother.

Gomab, I thought u knew about Liggins (correct spelling). Thought he played for the Mid State Ballaz. He has been shooting the ball extrememly well from downtown this year. Has been making at least 4 threes a game. Shaveon Comage a young sophmore guard played well. He made the 3 to send it into overtime. Craig Harris was a force on the boards and guarded Willie Kemp for most of the night. The big men were saddled with fouls and could not get going really.

Some of the worst officiating that I have seen. First quarter, Haywood up 9-0, Bolivar throws the ball in the backcourt and the refs call the violation. Rudesill calls timeout to settle his team and when they come back out of the timeout they give the ball to Bolivar. Team fouls 8-3 at the end of the first half. An obvious goal tending call they did not give Haywood the call. A charge on Willie Kemp and instead of calling the foul they give them the ball out of bounds. Home cooking at its best.

Wang, I know Leslie Delk personally. He walked on at the University of South Alabama this year. He is not getting playing time right now but says he is working hard to get better each day.

Gomab, Why do you say they upset them? If you upset someone that means you werent expected to win. Does having the Delks automatically constitute a win over a AA school without big name players. Haywood constantly has good talent year after year. If memory serves me correctly the went to the Sub-state, the State Semifinals, and the State tournament last year. Doesnt that mean we have a good basketball program? Once again Haywood gets no respect but constantly produces a winner. These guys in this county have been winners since they were on the junior high team.

Didnt Haywood beat Northside by 10. The only reason Bolivar will win is because the refs wont give the big guys from Haywood the opportunity to play. There will be a lot of touch fouls and they will give Willie Kemp all the calls.

KILL?? Come on now, we know u must be from Bolivar but be for real. KILL?? I dont see them getting killed. Isnt Bolivar the same team that lost to Northside and Haywood dropped them by 10 and should have been more? KILL I laugh at that.

If you are close you should come see this one. I think it will be a barn burner. Bolivar does have Willie Kemp but Haywood has Lee Liggins. He has been shooting lights out here lately. They also have a pretty quick team too. Dont forget about Jarvis "Swat" Vanardo on the inside. He is a shot blocking presence in the middle. I think Haywood will give them a run for their money tonite.

Haywood and Bolivar are hooking up tonite in Bolivar. What do you guys think will happen?? Pleasd provide the Tomcats some bulletin board material. I know that many probably dont think Haywood has a chance. But we will see later on tonite. Tomcats have been playing well lately.

Might wanna check out Lee Liggins down in Haywood County. Scored 21 pts in the first quarter last Saturday against South Side. Whole team had 25 and he had 21. Ended the half with 27 and the game with 33. Didnt shoot much in the second half. He also had 24 in the first half against NorthSide. Dont know what he ended the game with.

Haywood downed NorthSide 90-80. NorthSide seems to be losing a lot lately huh.

Are there anymore counties where the entire program is undefeated? What I mean by that is the junior high or middle school, Freshmen, and varsity. Here in Haywood County the junior high is undefeated, the freshmen are undefeated and the varsity is also. How many other counties can say that or how many schools and their feeder schools can say that? GO HAYWOOD!!!!!

I didnt mean that JCM didnt respect Haywood. I meant I dont think many people in the area respect the talent that these guys have. I saw on here that someone ranked JCM above Haywood and they lost to them. Thats not giving credit where it is due. I also understand that is just peoples opinion. The Jackson Sun is bad about not wanting to give credit to the Tomcats. But this time they had no choice but to rank them number one since JCM was number one and lost to them. Craig Harris, the quarterback, is not a very noticed player. He just kind of quietly does his job.

Once again on this board the Tomcats never get any credit but keep winning games. Thats what counts anyway at the end of the night. LOL The Tomcats are currently undefeated after defeating a tought JCM team. It was said on this board that the Tomcats would get blown out and they shouldnt even show up. Well they won 25-20. I think people should stop sleeping on their talent. They feature one of the best running backs around, Jacolby Bond. They have a good quarterback in Craig Harris. And have a 6'7" reciever in Carlos Singleton. He scored as many touchdowns as JCM did the other night by himself. They are tough on D too with Steve Turner leading the way. KEEP ON SLEEPING ON THEM!!! They will be coming soon to a city near you to break some hearts. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TOMCATS!!!! 6-0

We did beat yall a few times. Matter of fact, Im not bragging but I dont remember losing to JCM. We didnt play Hardin Co. with Corrie Johnson but I heard he had some monster games. He transferred to TSU also so thats how I know Stanley Caldwell, Albert Bond, and Corrie. We all went to TSU together.
