  1. Sorry, like I said earlier. I was thinking of Clay County.
  2. scratch that, I was thinking of Clay County. Their fans sound exactly alike.
  3. Well they may be standing on the court forever then.
  4. Eldridge is what opposing teams need to focus on, he just throws the the ball up and it goes in. He sent one game against Temple into overtime with a running 3 pointer as time expired. Your best defensive guy needs to be on him. Then maybe Van Horn next, he'll control the ball and look to make passes to the other guys and shoot short jumpers on you. If Mcmasters had any post game, teams would really be in trouble, but he doesn't. he just floats around outside the basket and looks to take a shot every now and then. Watch out for Dilts flopping. He'll fall back on the floor if you even get near him when you're on offense. This usually results in at least one charge against your best offensive guy. Sometimes they're even real charges, most of the time they're not though. Basically don't forget about McMasters, but focus on Eldridge mainly. And don't leave guys open to shoot, they'll make you pay.
  5. He doesn't happen to have salt and pepper hair does he? oh man, that guy is ridiculous. If it's the guy I'm thinking of I'm not suprised about the whole situation. He has made so many bad calls. He's given me a foul before and I was a whole foot/foot and a half away from the guy. I looked back stunned when I realized it wasn't an off the ball foul and was on me.
  6. Could it be that he finally had someone that could matchup against him? And how many bad/off games is he gonna have? I remember him scoring 9 against Temple in the last game and 1 in another Temple game. Sounds like 9 is about average for him.
  7. What was Van Horn doing? Rolling around on the ground and making a big spectacle? Did he say something on the foul to get the first T? I've seen the way he's reacted to getting fouls called on him before, I'm not suprised the ref T'd him up. Some aren't as leinent as others, they like to take control of things and not let it get out of hand.
  8. From seeing Grace play several times this year I would agree with those people. But that's mainly due to no offensive plays being called. That may just be his style though, let good players create. And they have a lot of them.
  9. I know it's a simple question, but I can't answer it since I don't/didn't go to Temple and do not know anyone that goes there or faculty or staff that work there. I just started following Temple basketball becasue they have a really good team that is fun to watch. Did Temple recruit me? Oh and I went to a public school and have a Bachelor's from UTC, if that makes you feel any better.
  10. The only people complaining are CSAS fans (that 52-39 loss without 2 of Temple's starters still stings huh?) and Grace fans are happy to speculate.
  11. I have no idea. I just go to the games occasionally.
  12. Didn't Temple play Ooltewah last year and beat them by 10 or 11? Maybe some of those parents saw the program and the coaching and thought it would be a good fit for their sons. Less competition for PT and single A competition. Don't tell me the whole basis for these arguments is that good players have enrolled at Temple.
  13. Besides Temple having a good basketball program year in and year out, what has Temple done to recruit players? I mean really. Do you think Coach Wadley is out there handing out wads of cash and sports cars?
  14. Temple had their press going in this game. I was impressed by the play of the freshman Jeremy Sexton. That was a nice play where he faked that pass and made a quick move to the hoop for the layup. And good hustle and play throughout the game. Also in very limited minutes baby Skogen hit a 3 and had another good play.( a steal maybe? I forget)
  15. I don't ever recall a Skogen only scoring 1 point in a game. Carter is a freak of nature no doubt. He looks like he's on stilts out there. And you wonder why people expect more from him? More seniors or not I get the ball to the kid who is head and shoulders above everyone else. I don't know if they don't trust him just yet, poor coaching, senior pride, defensive performance of the year(it would have to be to stop someone that huge) or he doesn't have any inside game(not that you need any moves with that height). But I was underwhelmed by his performance. A kid that big should be blocking Dee. He should get a few blocks by accident just standing in the lane. When Grace starts using him on offense that team is gonna be scary. I don't know why Grace fans get so upset with people saying what is blatantly obvious. I thought Carter goaltended on that play as well. I was down in the front behind the Temple bench. I guess it was pretty close, but it looked like it. That was a great game! Eldridge's shot was amazing. Temple screwed up by not getting Skogen the ball for such a long stretch. Wadley was saying something to Seth and he said something like "I haven't touched the ball in "?" minutes."
  16. Scholarships are conidered gifts now? TTU gives all kinds of scholarships. To PK's, MK's, church workers, and all kinds of reasons. There's nothing unusual about TTU giving scholarships to students that went to the high school.
  17. I've been waiting for this. I'll be pulling for Mercer in the first game and UTC in the second. I would love to see them play each other Friday. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Skogens play.
  18. Thanks for the heads up on this. This sounds awesome, I'll be there.
  19. Do you know if he's planning on hitting the weights over the summer? I thought he would have done that after his junior year but he didn't (or at least I couldn't tell). I think it would help him a lot at the next level.
  20. Oh definately. As much fun as Caleb is to watch, Sean is inspirational to watch. To see him D up the opposition's best offensive player, control the ball, hustle, and knock down shots was fun to watch. He was kind of the glue that held things together. He was just solid and knew Caleb was the man and let him lead, but Sean would put up his points and do all the little things that lead to a victory. His D against Bailey was great. Bailey couldn't get by him and had to back him down and shoot turnarounds on him. That buzzer beating shot against Halls last year is one I will never forget. Mouw was also fun to watch. He played within his role as a rebounder and a scorer when defenders paid too much attention to Caleb or Seth. I just loved this whole team this past year. Dee and Seth were great too. I just wanted to comment on the Seniors leaving. Dee and Seth should be a great tandem next year. Seth is already good but should be even better next year and Dee is so fast and has great handle. Can't wait to see how he improves. And I think Josh Smith should be a great addition, especially if he hustles and plays like he did against Copper Basin. It looked like he was hungry and wanted to show Coach Wadley what he could do and that he wanted to be in there.
  21. I never said Doaks played poorly. I don't think his team had a better year than Caleb's. Temple's record was 34-2(including the loss to Middleton) and Peabody's was 27-11. If Peabody would have met Middleton in their first game they would have been put out as well. As for stats Caleb had 24 against Middleton. Not sure what his assists or other stats were but most people seemed to be amazed. Oh and we in the east have heard about Doaks temper tantrums on court(whether or not those accounts are overblown), although I'm not sure if that's character or sportsmanship.
  22. That's exactly how I would describe the first time I saw him play.
  23. I would like to say congratulations to Doaks for the Mr. Basketball award! First of all you have to take into account that Doaks(as well as Bailey) were on Gomab2's AAU team. So tell me how objective he can be? And he has a perception of having something against Caleb Skogen(whether that's true or not). I'm still not sure if he's seen Caleb play in over a year. Mr. Basketball isn't about rankings or college prospects. I thought I saw a list of the criteria earlier but can't seem to find it now. It listed character and academics as well as basketball performance. But did not mention college potential or prep ranking. Oh and we know how much rankings mean.(Temple ranked #1 in single A and losing in the first round).
