  1. Congrats Chris and good luck but OldskoolBalla - what would you expect a coach to say "are recruiting class stinks"?
  2. CHSkingfish places posts consistent with his school's reputation - classless. Hoya75 you think ECS beating BGA was not an upset? How do you define upset when BGA was 14-2 while running over everyone including ECS. By the way ECS is not a better team than BGA, they had a better day unfortunately.

    BGA vs. ECS

Nothing away from ECS as they won but it would have been nice to see BGA play the way they can. In my opinion the only players at BGA that had a good game were Lucas and Cartwright. Lucas had opportunities when he wasn't being held and Cartwright scored the goal, had one off the cross bar and basically was all over the field hustling. The rest of the team had an off day unfortunately.
  4. That's Ignorant - Division II Dark Horse Father Ryan - That's Ignorant!
  5. Can someone tell me where this college is (I could only find a listing in PA, Canada or England) and what is the attraction for TN soccer players? What kind of academic programs and reputation does it have?
  6. In terms of a BGA versus Brentwood match we will have to wait until May 5th but look at the common opponents - Hendersonville, Franklin and Centennial For BGA the scores were: BGA 3 Henersonville 0, BGA 2 Franklin 1, BGA 5 Centennial 1. Correct me if I am wrong but Brentwood only tied Hendersonville, just got by Centennial, and I don't remember what happened with the Franklin game. While this is not a predictor of success, it is interesting - don't you think Ingnorant?
  7. It looks like Kinsey got his name revoked again! Can't you keep your mouth in check? Oh I must have forgotten who I was talking to... never mind. lol
  8. NickForte4261 I saw the game and I can not speak to the "talking" but I can to the unsportsman like play. Please explain to me why one of your fullbacks consistantly ran into the back of BGA players in the box (not playing the ball but trying to take out a player)? Why did BA players consistently run through players after the ball was served? Additionally, you didn't shut BGA down - look at the shot differential - they just couldn't find the net on numerous shots. And by the way the final should have been 5-0 as the last goal should have counted as the wistle (another BA player coming through a BGA player after the ball was gone) was after the shot. Remember in order to be treated with respect you have to earn respect - it isn't just given freely.
  9. First Tedy needs to stop pretending to be me! Second the best defenders are: Matt Kinsey, BHS Patrick McHugh, USN Ryan Barnes, BGA Jon Cartwright, BGA (even though he is a midfielder - has saved BGA on the defensive end countless times - he plays the whole field!)

    BGA @ USN

I don't know who Tedy is but he ain't Teddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the Real Teddy
  11. The picture of Ryan signing is for football NOT soccer and yes the guy is good athlete but he is no more than a mediocre soccer player - he should never be mentioned in the same breath as Zander, Cartwright, Boyton, Davenport, Kinsey, etc. and he does get frustrated quickly - the BGA and Franklin games.
  12. The truth will be told by Lemmiwink - where are you man?
  13. Goal scored - Lucas 1 goal, 1 assist, Locke 1 goal, Dustin (don't know last name) 2 goals, Cartwright 2 goals, 3 assists
  14. First of all congrats to Ryan scoring for your team is a good thing regardless of the competition (which you ain't responsible for). Now let's get real folks! Why is it that all you bone heads talk about is goal scorers? Is it because you don't appreciate the game or that you minimalize it like all US sports writers/press? To truly appreciate soccer you need to understand the game. Possessing the ball and controlling the mid field is true art and it makes for alot of goal scoring opportunities! A defensive stop is beautiful to watch, especially when it results in a transition goal opportunity! My point is that 11 people play the game of soccer and we insist on talking talking about the guys who score goals - Lucas, Christiansen, Nichols, Bevins, Zander, Boynton, etc. (all talented athletes! Jeff hope you are healing!?) Let's focus on the guys that control the game in the middle, make the defensive stops and yes the goal scorers too.

By the way, SCCR11 I'm with you man - I think your logic is outstanding. This would mean that Middle TN teams would have 3-4 goals and East TN teams would have 5-6 goals when we show up for the state tournament in Memphis - I'm all for it...think TSSAA would go for it? lol

Oh by the way Myth - nice goal against JPII! Congrats!

Lemmi - you may not know who I am or where I play but you still love me don't ya? Myth - You are absolutely right I don't speak for BGA, I speak for reason which is sadly missing in this mess. Also, I misunderstood your intentions with your first post in this topic - sorry. And you were right, BGA had played much stronger prior to the Beach tournament but I think the Franklin game was the game that started BGA back to playing strength. BGA played very strong against Franklin in the 2-1 win (at least for 65 minutes!) Good night all.
  18. I wasn't at the game but I got info that Wade Wonderland scored the last goal - a header over the goalie's head.

It is always fun to watch good teams with talent play one another and the result would be interesting.

    BGA 6, ECS 2

Okay this site really isn't intended for educational purposes but here goes... Opinions are fine but when they are opinions about one team beating another you have just offered an opinion about the other team as well (in what you call a back handed way). Next time try "Knox Cath has a good program with a lot of talent and will play teams like BGA competitively" rather than they would beat BGA. By the way, BGA beat MBA last night 4-0 and if I remember correctly MBA beat Knox Cath? Now I don't mean to imply that ergo BGA would beat Knox Cath but it is interesting isn't it?

Irish17 and Shine need to get a room - too much love for me. Everyone knows that KC has a good team but to make statements that so in so can beat so in so are meaningless and in fact worthless. Opinions are like butts, everyones got one some are just bigger than others.

The Myth says: BGA came out hard and strong, playing like they hadn't played since their 6-0 trouncing by Farragut. Keep in mind Myth that BGA started spring break that night - the only team at the Beech Tournament that was supposed to be on spring break - and they played like it. See them play before you run at the mouth, and if you have only seen them play in the Beech Tournament explain the thumping of Hendersonville 3-0, Centennial 5-1, ECS 6-2 and there will be more.

I love comments like "It would be a different game if..." and if pigs could fly! I saw the game and BGA absolutely controlled the mid field which gave Lucas all the opportunities. ECS looked baffled and very slow. I don't know the kid who was out but I doubt seriously that he could keep up with Lucas' speed.
  24. I find these questions funny as most people vote for someone on their own team or they vote for guys that are good athletes or one dimensional but not ALL AROUND good soccer players. For example, Brad Christiansen is a great athlete and can finish but he has no touch, poor foot skills, minimal vision, etc. Also, the tendency is to put the "goal scorers" on the list when they couldn't play anywhere else on the field as they don't have the request skills. Before you ask these questions, define the criteria and then list the guys who fit.
  25. I know this game was a week or so ago, but if you really watched the game BGA dominated for the first 65 minutes and between Lucas and Cartwright had 5 break aways that just missed the net. At that point BGA put Cartwright back on defense and the mid field they dominated for 65 minutes could not control the ball so Franklin had number of opportunities in the closing 15 minutes. The game was not as close as the score.
