  1. While it is a hard way to lose, mjuhb is right. PK's come after 2 ten minute overtimes with 2 five minute sudden death periods. You gotta end it somehow. This is why you practice taking pk's all season.

Good point. I would like to hear why, just out of curiousity, but I doubt GHS admins are huge CoachT posters. Even so, they seem to be holding their own in AAA.

Gotta give props to Coach Eiskamp. He was my college coach. He has done great things up there with the devils. My question is, and I know this doesn't have anything to do with C.D. but I don't want to start a whole new thread on it, why not play in A/AA, but schedule hard teams outside of that? That is what CAK does. Outside our district, we schedule Science Hill, Maryville, Bearden, Farragut, Webb... So we still get the tough games. Just a thought, and it may not be in his hands anyway. To the Chucky Doak naysayers, they made it farther than all but four teams. Great for any team, and even more special for a school that is not known for soccer prowess. To Chucky Doak fans, respect is earned on the field, not on the threads. You have made a name for yourselves, now show all of those naysayers that it was not a "flash in the pan". Get ready for next season. Hard to believe, but this one is over already!!! Congrats again.

The TSSAA has their enrollment at 769. Who made the decision to play up?
  5. The key point there, is winning.
  6. First a HUGE congrats to Catholic for making it to the state finals! What an accomplishment! Come home with your heads held high! To FRA: Great job! I have heard wonderful things about your program, and even though I was rooting for CCS, there was nothing about you that I held in disdain. Congrats!
  7. What organization is that with? TSSAA?
  8. Way to go Catholic. Hoya, looks like you have a trip to take!
  9. When the newspapers DO run the articles, do you let them know that you appreciate them doing so? I encourage our parents to write to the paper, the editor, and the writer, thanking them for the coverage. Sometimes good relations can really help.
  10. Agreed agreed agreed and AGREED! I have said that all three years in Memphis. You feel like you are at a weekend club tournament. You also could never watch the other teams play, since they all play at once. Except for the 6 teams that got to play in the stadium, the rest got to play on sub par fields back to back to back of each other.
  11. I'm asking... What did you see?
  12. You had to bring that one up, huh! Yeah, that is one that CAK would probably like to forget. I was not there, but when I heard the score, I had to ask for a repeat because I couldn't believe it. I am looking forward to the outcome. Good luck to both teams.
  13. Kind of an ironic D2 rematch... Gotta push for Catholic. Good luck girls, and to hoya (thought you might not be there) I will be looking for results on coach T.
  14. I agree with what you said, but I think this will be the true litmus test of where they are. Great job C.D.!
  15. Any details? Did CCS have good looks at the goal, or was it pretty one sided?
  16. The boys' tournament definitely is. I don't know about the girls'.

Sorry, I was refferring to timbdp... my mistake. He has over 5,000 posts.
  18. Yes, I would agree, BUT, playing that hard of a match can really take it out of you for a game the NEXT day. Especially if it goes into overtime. Plus, card issues could be a factor in a very hard played, and aggressive game.
  19. Up until regions, most of the coverage was pretty sparce, but the usually had blurbs about some of the bigger games. But region finals, they had a huge color photo and article of one of Catholic's players, as well as articles about Oak Ridge and West. With it being football season, I thought the coverage was pretty good. They also keep scoring and goalkeeping records for the whole Knox county, in all divisions.

Chuckey Doak is having a record setting season, and also beat a quality Kingston team to advance to state. Congrats and good luck. As far as your arguments with public vs. private, you have some valid points. I also think it will be argued over and over again until they do force privates out (I don't think that will happen, but I could be wrong... I never thought they would have a 1.8 multiplier either). I do think that this belongs on the public private thread. The posts that got me a little riled, were the ones that accused all privates of recruiting, but I think you have changed your "tune". I appreciate that. On a side note, and rather random... how in the world do you have over 5,000 posts?
  21. It is very unfortunate that these 2 teams have to meet in the quarters, but it happens that way sometimes. I respect both programs, and I would have liked to see them meet later, but since they can't, I'll be backing CCS, just because I have been keeping tabs on them all season, and wanting them to play Catholic in the finals. Whoever said that CCS will blow FRA out, I think will be dissappointed. I would predict a close one, with possible overtime. But hey, I could be wrong... who thought that West would beat Farragut? (besides West, of course.)
  22. Why do you have to go there? Let's not get off on that tangent... Also, my congrats to Whitehouse. Good luck next season.
  23. Wel, C.D. you are proving yourselves so far. Good luck at state, and congrats for getting there. This is where it gets really tough. I hope you do well, but like I said in the other thread, I don't think you have seen the likes of Catholic, CCS, or FRA. It would be an awesome story to go the distance! Any details on the Kingston game?
  24. Congrats, and keep that train rollin'! 3 games to go. Good luck Catholic!
