I know that Smith is a good coach. His O-Lines at Central and Powell were better because he was their coach. Some of his ego and his past actions I do not agree with, but we have covered that. With the talent that they have had at Powell the last 2 years I know they are dissappointed, D-1 lineman, special qb, UT TE, good RB's. Where does the blame lie? It reminds me of when Bruin and Smith played in the 80's and their teams underachieved. Who's fault was that?

Was Dagley stepped over for the PE position? Will Lowe wait or go for another job until the Powell job comes open? Did the DC leave because he new Lowe was in line for the job? If what you say is true then Dagley is next in line. Also what about the principal and her football support?

That is good news. Do you think that Stevens will make sure that he stays long enough for Lowe to take over? I know he has been teaching and coaching a long time and I do not know how close to retiring he is.

Out in the zone. I heard it a month ago and it was squelched by HTV. That source was a media connection. This time it came from a customer at the Powell rumor den, I think it is called Humps. I would think that if it occured it would be Phil Wilkes or the offensive coach if they think he is ready. I promise that the principal at Powell does not like any funny bussiness going on and has always had a big hand in hiring and firing coaches. The number of coaches she ran through at Karns is astonishing, both head coaches and assistants. I also heard that wilks may be getting back into college coaching and leaving also. Does anyone know were Watts is going to go to college?

The talk on the streets is that Larry Stevens will resign his Coaching position effective the end of the semester.

HTV Do not leave us without a Powell voice. I know you are frustrated with the season but you are no quitter.

He did answer. I guess UT told CJ Leak he would be a reciever. I wonder if they recruited Banks as a reciever. They will tell the recruits what they want to here. Lee might be able to play TE but they like bigger TE (almost like a tackle) or faster TE that they can line up at wide out.(Witten). By the way Witten was signed as a Defensive end. McRay was signed as a defensive lineman. They will do what is best for UT and not what the kid wants. Gov- Maybe it will take 2 years. Football players do not use STERIODS, only those big baseball players.

I may be wrong but do not be surprised if they try to put 80 pounds on him in a red shirt year and make him a tackle. If he will let them do that and he can avoid injuries he is good enough athletically to play on Sundays.

What kind of stats did Smith have this year in comparison with last year? What about Watts and his stats in comparison? I know that Helton had better stats.

I believe that they named the field at Farragut after him this season. What a fitting tribute.

Did not say I believed them, I just said I heard them. I do wonder about the mental state of Stevens with Lowe looking over his shoulder.

I wonder if the new rumor is true? I heard that Stevens asked one of his assistants to get his driver ed certification this summer, also that he was stepping down after this season sighting that the time was to much with county work, teaching, and coaching. With these 2 rumors coming at the same time I wonder if there is smoke were there is fire. I know the Panther nation cannot be happy with 7-5.

That is the point I was making. Mcrae struggled at DT but was an effective o lineman.

I know that he has potntial to put on some weight. I would be willing to bet that they bulk him up and make him a tackle. If he does this he could play on sundays. He is athletic for a tackle, he is slow for a TE, and there is no way he can play defense in the SEC. He is alot like the kid from Clinton who went to UT in the 80's.

Are Smith and Watts being punished or are they hurt?

In 9 games RB has only given up 41 points.

That is awesome about the Smith's happiness. I guess football is about lesson in learning to deal with not always getting what you want.
