  1. Grace wins it 42-29. Congrats Lady Eagles and Good luck to both teams as the move on and represent Chattanooga.
  2. Their 5th meeting of the season. Grace led 16-14 at half for Reg 3A Championship. Now at the end of the 3rd. Grace leads 26 - 16.
  3. Yep - Everyone has to have a ticket. They went on sale today in the school office. Even the students had to sign up to get a ticket. And all entrances are going to be manned to prevent sneak-ins.
  4. I was at both East Ridge / Grace matchups and you are so wrong if you think Jurick owned McMasters. At Grace, McMasters won the edge and it was close and good to see two big guys going at it. At ER it was a different story with Jurick winning the match. His simply outmuscled McMasters. Jurick won it - bottom line. But to say he killed McMasters is absurd. Clemson coach was at the ER game and he thought the same. Who's the best? Who cares - they are both talented ball players who are big guys that will play at the next level and maybe beyond that if they get challenged enough.
  5. My response - see this link. http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/artic...asp?imgID=13812 By the way, Pickett County is a classy team. They played hard and kept on trying, just the Grace guys were a little too much for them this year. They'll get their chance. PCHS was well represented by their players, fans and their coach.
  6. All of the postings summarizing the game are pretty accurate. I don't think Grace was focused. The warmups didn't look too serious with at least one starter standing back talking and not even attempting to go through the motions. The one thing I don't see is anyone giving any credit to CCA. Those guys wanted it bad and just outhustled the Grace guys. CCA was in their face, diving, pressuring - basically just giving 100%. I was totally surprised that CCA led nearly the entire game except for the last 1:30 of regulation when Grace tied it up. The CCA coach was doing a good job at coaching and adjusting. Grace coach Matthiess(?) also did a good job bringing the Grace guys back into the game and managing the clock after Grace took the lead. Sure made for an exciting game - and not too many people were expecting that. I hope Grace learned a lesson from that one. And give due credit to CCA.
  7. I heard CSAS won it by 5. True or False?
  8. I accept the fact that this is going to be a corny answer, but it's really is an easy one. The winner of this one is always the fans. Try to pick the winning team and you've got a 50% chance of being right. The past few years, the records go out the window - it is just some of the best and most exciting basketball there you can pay $5 to go see. The teams, the coaches, and both teams fans are into this game and the gym is full of energy. Even if you're not a Grace or Temple fan, if you like roundball, you need to catch this game.
  9. Kilroy called it right. Grace looked like they might open it wide open in the 3rd period and then ER fought right back in. Neither team would give up. It was a heck of game to watch. I don't think there was any overated or overachieving stuff going on. Just two hard playing teams taking to the hole anyway they could. As far as the big man match up, that just made it more fun. Both are gonna be so much fun to watch as they develop in the next couple of years. IMHO, I really think McMasters came out the winner over Jurick tonight, they both held there own positions, blocked well and made some good moves to sink some shots. Just a little edge for McMasters plus his confidence made him look a little better. Just with the little grins and body language, I think he thought won the matchup to. Plus I would guess that he gives up about 30# to Jurick. ER may feel bad about the loss, but they played well. Glad I was there.
  10. 6-0 was the score and the shotcount was 22-0, the way I counted em. Not much to say. It was Grace's first game of the season, so the adrenaline probably made em a little tentative, but they found their groove. Next game will be a bigger test. Grace hosts Sweetwater Tuesday nite @7:00. Sweetwater is a strong team with some very talented players. Chattanoogan.com had some specifics and some pics. Now don't be so harsh to thearcher
  11. Bramblehood posted on another post that CCS was up 3-2 at the half.
  12. Thanks for the update hood. It would be nice for CCS, Stanton and Chattanooga to keep on truckin'. Most of the CCS folks are a pretty good and deserving. Oh yeah and thanks for giving Grace the credit where credit is due - - oh that must have been someone else.
  13. It was actually as soon as the game was over, that some of the CCS player came toward the Grace bench and one was making some snide "How does it feel comments?" It's no big thing and shouldn't reflect poorly on the school or the team. I don't think the majority of their fans or players would endorse that type of harassment, and certainly Coach Stanton wouldn't. Grace lost to a better team on Wednesday, and you don't hang your head losing to a better team. Good luck to CCS with FRA. May the best team win, they usually do.
  14. Thanks for explaining Bramblehoods actions. The poster wasn't intended to disrespect anyone.
  15. Well, I'm glad some CCS fan confessed to that inexplicable act. A CCS fan came over to the Grace student section and took a poster out of one of our fans hands that had the Korean flag on it and ripped it. It was for one of our players with Korean heritage and even his Korean grandmother was there that evening. It was intended to recognize him and why some disrespectful person from the other team would do this and then brag about doesn't show much class. And if we do lose to CAK, we'll do it with class to another classy team. And I will say that the CCS players and coaches are also a classy team.
