The season has just started to get under way, and I just wanted to get people's opinions on who or what team(s) have been the biggest surprise so far this year in East Tennessee?

I know Simpson started for Baylor and the final was 9-8.

Baylor lost their home opener to Soddy tonight.....

If it is so easy to learn then why cant everyone bunt well? I agree practice can make you a better bunter, but it isnt something everyone can do. In reality there are only about two decent bunters on just about every team...every now and then though there will be more.

we'll find out tomarrow, but you gotta atleast beat the champs before you starting calling for a state title.

Baylor has a good chance to go far in the tournament, but either CBHS or McCallie will end up winning it. Baylor will run out of pitching as the weekend goes on.

If Baylor throws Elliot again, they are in trouble. His fastball is meat, and he throws too many curve balls. Its a decent pitch, but he doesn't have anything to set it up with. If you know the curve is comming then it is a much easier pitch to hit. McCallie will be in good shape if Elliot pitches against them again.

Michael Elliot was Baylor's tall lefty. The way McCallie has been playing lately they will be hard to beat. They are pitching great and their bats are coming around at the same time. Watch out! Friday's game between Baylor and McCallie should be another great game, but I'd give McCallie the edge. They have just a little bit more pitching than Baylor does down the strech.
